Hi Erin, thank you for the comment about my Grandpa!! Yeah, it was an amazing surprise when I ran into Dan and Nari, right in front of my Grandfather's former home. What a small world! And even more amazing is the fact that Dan ended up dedicating that video to my Grandpa. I heard you guys were coming home, or are already here? I'm the guy who asked you if I could meet you guys during your short trip to Mexico City, unfortunately you were already on your way to Costa Rica. Well, I've been back in Puebla for about three weeks, but will be leaving for Oaxaca on the 28th of January. I will be there for about 4 days and then back to Mexico City for a short stay. My last stop will be in Guanajuato in about two weeks before heading back to California, so I'm still hoping to meet you guys before I leave. I hope you get this message, I really would love to meet you guys!

The New Travel Danny; I think anybody who was born at México and immigrated; it’ll always remember the Independence Day. At least I got a good memories from my childhood. Also your video about Puebla was nice I heard bout the library but never see inside it, moreover I like the way you describe you tone of voice is so cool and the fact somebody recognized you, was awesome and I think you felt a good vibe. You are Canadien, doing videos at México and someone with Mexican heritage and living at California knew you and your girlfriend. That is for the history.

The New Travel tu si sabes

Puebla is perhaps the most historical and heroic city of Mexico. Some facts to better understand what Puebla is, was founded in 1531 only for Spaniards (the first in America), since its foundation it grew so much that it began directly to compete with the cdmx (it has the largest historical center of mx with more than 2000 historical monuments) in this city have passed many important events: in independence was the last to sign the treaties and the first capital to be liberated, in 1847 was besieged by the army of usa ( and had a gringo governor) in 1862 was the scene of the battle against French army (the famous May 5), in 1863 the French return and besiege the city for months where it was almost completely destroyed (in the French cemetery of the city there is a monument for the heroes who lost their lives more than 11 thousand people died) in 1867 Porifrio Diaz liberates Puebla from the Europeans (it is our day of victory April 2) in 1910 the Serdan brothers started a Mexican revolution in Puebla (you can visit his house in the center) and now it is one of the cities that grows the most. As an extra fact in this city was born, the chile in nogada(the colors are in honor of the trigarante flag, NOT the Mexican flag, in that time At that time there was no nationalism as today, in fact Puebla tried to separate from Mexico 3 times, in 1823, 1828 and 1868) mole poblano, cemitas, tacos al pastor, tacos arabes, molotes, chalupas, rompope (and we share the mezcal with oaxaca) the typical feminine costume is the china poblana (it is the image female from mexico) the chinaco that is the ancestor of the charro, in this city were born great characters in the history of mx as Gilberto Bosques (the schindler poblano), in addition to former presidents, singers (like the vocalist of mana, Fer Olvera), actors and actresses poets, athletes and even youtubers. The best known Luisito Comunica. In culture, history and idiosyncrasies Puebla is unique in mx. Even now, the shield of the Spanish crown remains on the facade of the cathedral, it is very rare to see the coat of arms of Mexico on any facade Here we are more Poblanos than Mexicans.

also the Teatro principal is the oldest in all of america and is still in operation, Here also was born the talavera, the ceramic that is seen in almost all the "mexican" plates, And if we talk about the state of Puebla, it has another world heritage site. The Valley of Tehuacan, here was also born the avocado and vanilla (also in Veracruz)

Lovely video, Dan! Meeting that man on the street is so indicative of what seems to always happen everywhere in Mexico. Puebla is such a beautiful, colorful, and amazing city with so many interesting things, incredible architecture, and so many museums, churches, parks, and the spectacular Puebla cathedral. Also foods unique to Puebla, the cemita, the mole and the chiles en nogada. I only spent a day there but Puebla captured my heart, and I want to return and devote an entire week experiencing all Puebla has to offer. A Mexican friend calls Puebla 'the little brother to CDMX'.

WOW! it was so COOL that Rafael Cabrera's grandson ran into ya guys and just as COOL that you dedicate this video to him.....Rafael Cabrera, gonna see what I come up with about this Mexican Poet from Puebla, the Hood where I live, the streets are named after poets, but not one of the streets has his name and there are 8 streets here. Ymm.....something tells me even though we have some good chiles noguada here in Querétaro(in El Bistro, Col. El Porvenir), they don't compare to the legit, the número uno from Puebla! I'd ask ya what Nari thought of the chile en noguada, but the last glimpse of her eating says it all! :)

But so much to see in Puebla City, too. Besides being known for the Chiles en Nogada, and the home of Mole, Puelbla is also know for its Cemitas sandwhich, also known as Cemas, witn pork, avaocado, onion, and chipotle, another must-try in Puebla City. Puebla has almost as much as CDMX to explore. You must return.

Your vlogs about traveling in Mexico are great and so sensitive to the culture. I grew up in Mexico City (Coyoacan specifically) and miss it terribly! My retirement is coming up soon and I am seriously considering moving back.
