    After subscribing at the start of this summer, I can honestly say that these videos have helped me make my lawn and garden look a LOT better, making me the "go to" guy in my neighborhood. People think I'm such a genius when I'm actually only parroting what I learned from Silver Cymbal. Although they do freak a little when I pull out my Hori Hori because that's a pretty intimidating looking lawn tool. I even had a police officer take it from me and ask "what's this for?" Thank God I watched the video and could explain all the neat things you could do with it.
    The reason I liked this video was because as I watched it, I could say, "Got it, got it, got it, need it, got it, need it." Agree 100%, safety glasses are a MUST HAVE/MUST USE.

    Them safety glasses are made by multiple different companies and I love my 3 pair. The yellow act like they have night vision as the sun goes down. You'll take them off and say, what the he** or heck for younger children. Seriously they are awesome. I also already bought the sharpener and within 24 hours of you showing it on your show. I bought it off eBay.

    • @lamcarter
      @lamcarter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the seal cause the glasses to fog up? I bought a pair by Dewalt that had vents at the bottom but were sealed around the edges but as soon as I started doing any strenuous work, they fogged up on me.

    • @DonaldAJr
      @DonaldAJr 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lamcarter this is what I'm going to say about that situation. I have some that fog up almost instantaneous and none of these pairs do and they're not even sealed. Personally I don't know if you have heard of Wish.com but I but 2 pair on there for let's just say $5 each (20 days shipping) and one on eBay for let's just say $15 (2 weeks shipping). When I need them I will definitely buy more in the future.

    I guess this is the proper way to go about this. Those are truly hand y tools and good prices. I stumbled on your channel a short while back, subscribed, and have enjoyed and been informed by all I have seen here. My question is, I live in midstate South Carolina. I have a yard that is wore out. Grass is thin, weeds have gotten in, and I thought this was the proper time for repairing and reseeding. Centepede has been in the yard for 40 years. A neighbor has, I believe, St Augustine or what folks here call Charleston Grass in their yard. It has crept through the fence and is looking way better than my Centepede. What are the best low maintenance grasses for this area, no irragation system. What is the process and how does one go about it with out all the harmful chemicals.
    Thanks so much for your work.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really appreciate the nice comment. It sounds to me like you already have found the right choice. Go with what is already growing well the St Augustine. No irrigation is always challenging and needs some tolerance for very hot seasons. But if St Augustine is already good, I would look into more of it.

    I have the Corona Extendable Pole Saw/Pruner. The Blade design is superior. A 6" branch 14' up is no match for Corona's sharktooth type design. I have been using old wood handle saws, but now I must get a Folding Corona, thanks to Silver Cymbal.

    Few people without special training can pick out quality products so well. You've said you are a computer guy but I can't help wonder, even though none of my business. Never had Facom tools in my hands what do you think? Anybody who uses an Instinct screw driver's not likely to use junk. I collect some SnapOn also, mainly sockets in black oxide.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the very kind comment. I used Facom for a lot of years and they were my favorite brand. They make some cool cases and bags. I have a little Snap On, pretty much just their standard chrome stuff. A nerdy bit of trivia is the white "garden gloves" that I wear in some of my videos are actually Facom leather high voltage gloves that I got free with a set for work years ago. I have never seen a more durable pair of gloves and I guess if they can block 1000v ⚡they are ok for the yard. 😀Not sure what I will do when they go bad though.

    • @tomjones4318
      @tomjones4318 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SilverCymbal Guess I'm a product "nerd" also. I consider every purchase a vote for smart or stupid/junk. Just landed a NAPA NB47 3/8 ratchet. Roundhead fine tooth quick release and thumbwheel. Same as the Craftsman some consider one of the best ever but doesn't have the classic Craftsman handle I don't like. They were both made by Easco who also had a version. Had to look for two years to find it. Oddly the ratchet I grab the most is the Performance Tech plastic cheapo. Similar to the Harbor Freight plastic but has an off set handle. Great for yard work or car. Don't mean to turn this into garage journal. I rarely had a good discussion there sadly.
