- I review and compare Yonex's flagship badminton shoes, the Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z3 against the Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion Z3. The 65 series badminton are incredibly popular badminton shoes from Yonex as they are incredibly comfortable and have a classic fit.
The Yonex Eclipsion series on the other hand favours stability and cushioning and this generation has a big upgrade compared to the previous generation. Find out more.

Which badminton shoe is your favourite?

Aerus Z
Would love to see a 2023 round up where you go over your favorite rackets in each category, i.e., speed, control, and power. Preferably with your favorites in each category at different price points.
1000%!!!!!
Oooffff!! there's so many to choose from! 🤣
Been waiting so long for this comparison
🙏
amazing quality video mate! KEEP IT UP!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the hoodie!
would love to see shoe reviews from different brands too
Coming soon!
Hi CK, could you please do lining blade pro shoes review and compare the insole with Yonex ones.
I previously had 65r3 before having the eclipsion z3, I immediately felt more stable on my steps but when I wear my 65r3 again I felt it providing me more agility on court compared to the eclipsion.
I have Mizuno Wave Claw Neo 2, Eclipsion Z 1st gen, z2, and z3 wide version. The z3 wide is my favorite, most comfortable, and most stable footwork.
Yo CK,can you please please please do a review and comparisons between the Aerus Z and Comfort Z
When’s the new white colour way coming out. Should i wait for it or go with the white tiger??@CKYew
which is better for smashing and defeding racket axforce cannon or astrox 88d play
I just purchased the wide version of the Eclipsion Z3 and the grip is the worst I used from any Yonex shoe that I have used in the past (Comfort Z3, SHB-65 xmx, power cushion shb-sc5mx). They fit well and seem to have good build quality, but the outsole just doesn't grip (used on sport court). They slip when flat and are like ice skates if you get slightly on the edge. They are an injury waiting to happen.
The 65Z3 is 4E wide? If not, what series shoes are 4E wide?
Happy with my Aerus Z in games, but prefers the 65 Z for training.
How about the victorA970 one where LZJ wears? I've seen some reviews online it's better than 65z3. Saw some local club players here wearing them a lot along with the 65z3 including myself.
I agree and I wear them myself. The comfort and fit was far superior. No joke. However the price is much expensive compare to these two yonexs shoes.
Ooooooooo
most victor shoes are v-shape not comfortable for wide feet
Hi ck, what the best shoes for heel support in your opinion? Currently using shb65 c90, but my heel hurts after playing 3 hours session. Or maybe power cushion insole can help? Thx!
Are you playing on concrete or very hard flooring? Additionally; it could also be related to your landing technique 😬
Happy 2024! Which ones are the most similar to the old Lin Dan shoes ?
The yonex power cushion comfort
Which is more durable 65z or eclipsion z
I see so many pros use the 65Z3 and i don't know why even though the Eclipsion Z3 is better than 65Z3 in every way??
And may i ask, which one is better for playing both indoors and outdoors because im usually mixing between indoors and outdoors, thank you
I like the new 65Z C-90 design color but the durability seems to be poorer compared to the (non-sustainable) material 65Z. I have had 3 pairs of the 65Z series before buying this pair. I find the inner part of the left foot (i'm a right handed player) wears out much faster compared to the original materials. Also, anecdotally I feel the cushioning doesn't last as long as the original shoes neither. I probably won't pick up another pair if designed with similar material.
does infinity 2 BOA still winning all?
ck yew , I wanted to know the durability on the 65z3 I play 6 times a week as a singles player I wanted to know that I how will these last me. Thanks and regards
How long does your normal badminton shoe last you?
@@CKYew I've buyed a pair of yonex 65x3 that I'm currently using from 6 months but they are torn from multiple areas and the lunge tear came quickly
I would love to see a TH-cam short where you go a little more in depth about stringing the cross strings at a higher tension than the mains.
Why do some players string at a greater difference in tension between the cross and mains. Is that due to the difference in the shape of many racquet models and should I only string the cross higher than the mains after first stringing the cross and mains at the same tension. Some say it’s to keep it back to the same shape but some say to keep it as the shape it originally is.
Generally its 10% extra on the crosses compared to the mains. But often its down to personal preference of the player
whats the shoelace on your 65z3 white tiger? it looks colourfully n nice😂 how can i get the same one
I heard that yonex is also gonna launch a new astrox 88 series sometime in 2024 on top of the NF Nextage in jan and the white 65Z3s in march. quite excited for that if it’s true!
yes, during all england
@@fawwazrochmanu6707 really? that’s pretty soon!
Where did you get that infomation?
Could you please review shoes from victor and li ning
Please review Victor and Li Ning shoes too if you can 🙏🏼
🙏🏻
How much space should you have between your toes and top of the shoe? I have a pair but sometimes when I lunge is just slide forward.
Generally, I would recommend you to measure your foot size with a ruler with badminton socks on. Then pick the correct shoe size based on your measurement. I have a shoe size chart for yonex on my blog at ckyew.com/blog
@@CKYew thanks! Found it. Foot with socks measures about 27.3 cm so I would need 43 but have 44. Thats probably why I’m sliding a bit.
Used to love colours on shoes but my dream is to get a pure white shoe for my next one, something about pure white shoes on court that looks good.
Sounds the upcoming 65Z in full white might be your thing 👌
Are they wide foot friendly? Do you have recommendations for wide shoes for badminton?
Both models here have wide models 👌
I'm planning to buy a badminton shoe for my dad and looking to find a shoe which has the best cushioning and comfort. He is a long time badminton player. Any recommendations. Thanks.
Yonex power cushion 65 z3 is good bro
Please could you review the Victor Thruster TTY CK?
Its coming soon!
What string do you recommend for Yonex Astroz 100zz Dark Navy?
I like Aerobite
Still waiting the comparison of the lightest shoes from li-ning and yonex. 😅
What beginner strings do you reccomend for early teens
65
Plese ckyew put the lining shoes rewieve pls fast
For anyone looking for size advice for the Eclipsion Z's: I'm a UK size 11 (in Nike) but I ordered these in 11 1/2 (as it's recommended to go a half size up in Yonex shoes). But size 11 would have been perfect for me as there's a lot of space in the toe with the 11 1/2's, but they still fit fine and don't feel at all like they're too big. Better a 1/2 size too big than 1/2 size too small.
I would measure your foot accurately with badminton socks on with a ruler and use the size guide on my blog for accurate sizing. Ckyew.com/blog
Not a big fan of the colour of the 65 Z C-90, so I'll stick with my black pair. But I saw pictures of the white with silver version, and those look incredible!
The white one sure looks 🔥🔥
Ich got the eclipse for Christmas, unfortunately for me not the right shoe. My foot starts to hurting . It is a bit to tight on the frontfoot.
I have the same problem, but I don't really feel it when i'm on court, only afterwards. But apart from that I love them, I definitely feel more confident as a new player (11 months) in them. I previously had Karakal ProLite shoes, which I wouldn't recommend.
Would you say the power cushion 65 accommodates wider feet?
I'm aware there's a wide model 👌
Suggest shoes on cement floor ( outdoor court)
hi CK. Can you help me. Which Yonex shoes has the best sole that does not feel hard . Cos I try comfort Z .it feels hard
Try the Eclipsion and 65 👌
i really want to see a review of li ning shoes plsssss
which shoe would you recommend durability as well as comfort wise?
Both are great although I’d expect the Eclipsion to be more durable
@@CKYew Thankyou
Had both shoes: the mizuno wave claw 2 are better in every way IMO. 👍🏿
Mizuno's cushion is not as good as Yonex imo
Used the wave claw pro, fits better, but worse grip and cushioning was at best like an aerus
@@huynhxuanviet9818 cushion isnt better but everything else is better IMO.
@@huynhxuanviet9818 both the insole and outsole of Claw 1 and claw 2 are paper thin🙃
definitely not for people who are on the heavier side.
I learn it the hard way.
I used the wave claw neo and I played 4-6 hrs/week, the cushion dies after only 10 months 🫤
Can u review about victor p8500ii shoe
What about eclipson Z3 Vs Comfort Z3?
I personally prefer the Eclipsion
Does eclipsion have a wide version?
Yes they do!
Can you please share us list of Wide form Badminton shoes
may be find some altra shoes to try on, really like them
Both these models have wide options as well as the latest generation of Aerus
Have both, eclipsion all the way
Niceeeee!
Youre adivice makes our choice
how about Asisc shoes?
Asics shoes comparison coming soon!
The 65 z3 are great but i found the rubber to chip off near the edges of the shoe. If they can improve the durability and retain the grip, then they’ll have the perfect shoe. In addition, i found the part where i drag my foot near the upper wears out quickly so i feel a more durable section is much needed.
rubber chipping off?? 😬 How abrasive are the courts you play at?
@@CKYew I play mainly on victor and yonex badminton mat courts, very rarely on wood. The chunks of rubber that fell of doesn’t noticeably affect performance but it doesn’t really give me peace of mind in terms of durability.
Yeah i have same problem on my z3. The outsole rubber is slowly chip off
I have the same problem too. This is very strange. It never happens before.
Luckily, I did manage to get a 65Z C-90. I do really love it. But, it is a bit pricy though.
I initially had that thought too but once u slip them on and get them on the court and compare it to budget shoes, you wl understand why the price is so high
Victor a970 ace please
Do make a vlog of 2024 Petronas Malaysia
And the Legend's Vision tooo
Unfortunately, I won't be there in person :(
I'll be checking it out online 👌
can you make a video about yonex cfz3 ?
]
I already have done so more than a year ago 🤣
@@CKYew oh ya , thanks
The ecliption does everything for me. Speed, durability, and speed. It too good
Nice!!
Shb 65 is really popular among yonex pro player
Yep
No wide models??
try altra shoes not as hard but may be batter for most people
Both these shoes have wide models)
@@alexandersw2038 Not here in France unfortunatly!
Both models have wide variants 👌
@@CKYew But not here in France unfortunately!😢
Eclipsion is way better
Based on my experience the eclipsion quite hurt the mid part of my shoe it's not comfortable
Ps: been using the shoes for 8 months
Do you have wide feet?
You continued with it even though it hurts? 😬
it only hurts during a hard match and hard training@@CKYew
I guess, I recently bought the 65z3 wide (the orange/white) and I loved the feeling and the comfort it gives@@streetninja23
