One of the greatest bands I've ever got into. Hair Of The Dog came out in 1975. This was their top 40 hit and a cover to boot. I have been listening to them since 1972. They never disappointed EVER!
The Everly Brothers originally did this song in 1960 and Roy Orbison covered it in 1961. Nazareth's version is the most well known and arguably the most popular.
This song was one of my late Mothers favorite song. She bought this on a 45 " Record, and on the other side was the song Hair of the Dog. It's hard to listen to it and not think of her. R.I.P. Mom 🙏🏼. I love and miss you.
One of my all time goto songs when i am down (like now) or heartbroken. You can feel the pain in his voice and when the guitar solo starts it just takes you with it. You fly through your clouds for a little while until the singers voice brings you safely back to the ground again. Awesome Song and Great Reaction! Thank You!
Love this band Scottish like me. Love Hurts" is a song written and composed by the American songwriter Boudleaux Bryant. First recorded by the Everly Brothers in July 1960, the song is most well known in two hit versions by UK artists; by Scottish hard rock band Nazareth in 1974 and by English singer-songwriter Jim Capaldi in 1975.
Love my Scottish Naz as well. Was hooked on them when I was young. Didn't realize till I was older why. Those damn Scottish tribal drums Darrell snuck in there just lit me up😂😂❤Manny making that guitar sing😂Pete playing some kickass bass😂and Dan❤oh Dan could make your heart melt with his Ballards or rock your ass off with those vocal capabilities ❤😂love this band. Dan in my top 5 vocalists of all time. Thanks. Enjoy this epic song.
"Love Hurts" came from their 1975 album "Hair of the Dog" - a great album. Also check out 2 other tracks from that album "Miss Misery" & the title track "Hair of the Dog".
Saw the in '80 with Blackfoot Evansville, IN. We partied hard to this whole album..high school '77 to '81. Cruising, partying, looking for the beautiful ladies! Great music, great friends, great times! Hair of the Dog...one of the greatest rock albums of all time!
Nazareth were from Scotland, formed in 1968 and broke big in the 70's... Dan McCafferty (vocals) sadly passed away in 2022 😪 He had to leave the band for health reasons by 2014. The original Nazareth debuted in 1971 w/ Dan McCafferty (vocals), Manny Charlton (guitar), Darrell Sweet (drums) & Pete Agnew (bass) ... Both Manny Charlton and Darrell Sweet have since passed away as well... Bassist Pete Agnew is the only original member today. Nazareth's only platinum record in the USA was 'Hair of the dog' in 1975... 'Love hurts' was a cover of The Everly Brothers and became one of their biggest hits... The song 'Hair of the dog' was also a hit and was covered by Guns N' Roses... Britney Fox... Nazareth was actually very popular in Canada. The band has released 25 studio albums to date... their latest being 'Surviving the law' in 2022 w/ vocalist Carl Sentance.
This came out when I was in junior high...It became everybody's anthem to help them deal with their first heartbreak...We'd listen to it and think we were really wise now...Really one of the all time great vocal performances...
Yep, Lulu was right about playing it on the school sound system. When she mentioned the seven hallway break-ups, I immediately flashed back to my junior high days in the late 70s and realized nothing changes that much at high school after all.
Good one. Lulu would love so many Metal musicians that were around back in that era. I took a chance on Nazareth "Hair of the Dog." Ending up with owning every album they had out. I love their cover of "Shapes" by David Bowie. 0:17, Lulu almost looked like her avatar.
Yes I knew “Love Hurts” was a cover but they wrote a lot of their own great ballads. “Sunshine”, “Moonlight Eyes”, “Hearts Grown Cold”, “You Shot Me Down”, “Dream On”, etc.
Nazareth was a highly underrated band with a lot of great songs. I would like to see your reactions to some of them, like Hair of the Dog, Miss Misery, This Flight Tonight, Expect no Mercy and Shot Me Down, just to name a few. Thank you, love your reactions.
Oh Lulu you would have loved living in the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. With all that great “luscious” hair. 🤘 I played drum back in the day and had a ton of hair, then got married and had 4 kids Now I have barely any hair Hahaha 😂
Nazareth were a great Scottish rock band with Dan McCafferty on vocals a fellow Scot. Hair of the Dog is a brilliant album. They do a fantastic version of Joni Mitchell's This Flight tonight '
once you listen to hair of the dog you will never forget it...shanghaied in shanghai another nazareth classic...love hurts was one of the get up and dance close at the school sock hops when it first came out
They are a great band live. Saw them with Thin Lizzy in 78 or 79 and saw them at a bar in the 90's, but they didn't have Manny playing guitar. They were still great. They have alot of really good songs like Miss Misery, Hair of the Dog, This Flight Tonight, No Mercy, Razamanaz, and many more.
Amazing how a 50 year old song (Actually closer to 70) can STILL hold up and be better than anything today. Just voice to tape, nothing fancy. back when talent was talent
This song was written by Boudleaux Bryant, who also wrote a ton of songs (with wife Felice) including Rocky Top, Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Suzie, among others. Originally performed by the Everly Brothers.
Loved Nazareth concerts back in the 80s - although 90s sucked. Over-paid for tickets to a *Road House Biker Bar Nazareth Show* and they came out very late, preformed one song and said: "We Love You, Good Night!"
Thank You , beautiful ladies : for revive this old song , that is still current. And You all need to know : You tube is about enlightening and to entertain. And You do that! NEVER change! You are doing great! 👍 🙂
Naz are from my home city Dunfermline in Scotland, one of our fair city's MANY rock stars. They're good friends of my Mum n Dad from waaay back so I have grown up with them. They would even occasionally turn up completely unannounced at the pub my Mum worked at in their truck, haul their gear in, set up and just PLAY! They nearly killed Mum one of those nights when the first big note they played shattered ALL the glass behind the bar other than the actual bottles even the big wall mirrors. She was fine, but only just lol.
Expect No Mercy album is an epic masterpiece. The song title is excellent. Kentucky Fried Blues gives you scottish tribal drum beats with some kick butt base😂heck id be here all week with song suggestions.
Saw them at the Texas jam Dallas cotton bowl. 1978. Me and my friends al delago saw almost every band. First concert April wine 1973. 6 Texas jams Dallas cotton 2 farm aids Austin 1986 1987 and 58 concerts so far. Saw Ringo Starr 2023. Yall stay well and groovy my friends. Good night Graceland. Texas
You guys would like the title track of this album (Hair Of The Dog). You've probably heard it, it was another big hit for them that still gets radio airplay to this day.
got to see them at aloha stadium Hawaii in 77, the only good thing about being based in Hawaii for 3 Yrs. was that they had a concert almost every month I got to see a lot of the big 70s bands for cheap cause we got military discounted tickets.
That is what I loved about the Seventies. Everyone had dreamy hair. If your hair wasn't down to at least your shoulders that was considered short hair.
I love your reaction videos, and all 3 of you ladies are absolutely beautiful... Maybe you can do whikey drinking woman by Nazareth next that's my fav of their songs.
Ladies I am glad I found your channel and have subscribed :) If you liked this one , Donna you will know it when you hear it, try This Flight Tonite ( a Joni Mitchell song.) Lulu I love the word Dreamy lol, try Groovy, it might catch on again. My grandchildren call me Papa also, I will watch more , be well and Happy Easter.
Just one of the greatest 4-man bands. 1975 was their year. Also, the whole album is incredible
I still have the Album (Vinyl).
I seen them back in the 90's and they still rocked. Hair of the dog is a better song.
The next album was great too.
One of the greatest love songs of all time.
One of the greatest bands I've ever got into. Hair Of The Dog came out in 1975. This was their top 40 hit and a cover to boot. I have been listening to them since 1972. They never disappointed EVER!

Im Nazareth Fan Since 1974. Damm McCaffertys Voice! Hair Of The Dog Is My Favoured Album! 🙂
Sorry My Writing. Since Dated Tube Version I Cant see What Im Writing... 🙁
The Everly Brothers originally did this song in 1960 and Roy Orbison covered it in 1961. Nazareth's version is the most well known and arguably the most popular.
Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris also covered it on Parsons' last album before he died.
i think even cher tried to do it also
Oops, sorry....I just said that and didn't check the comments first 🤦🤣
Arguably the best.
Please don't forget Corey Hart's version!
You know a song is great, when 3 generations have heard it!
This song was one of my late Mothers favorite song.
She bought this on a 45 " Record, and on the other side was the song Hair of the Dog.
It's hard to listen to it and not think of her.
R.I.P. Mom 🙏🏼. I love and miss you.
Just how much pain can you get in someone’s voice? It’s a totally sincere life story
Thank You!
If you were alive in the 70's you've heard this song.
If you were alive at any point up until today youve heard this song.
Absolutely
My father=Me.
i was alive in the 90's and still have heard songs from 40's, so...
1975 Copenhagen...

I remember back in the 70s with my hot rod flying down the road with Nazareth blasting.. good times!
Bought this album back in '75 while in college. Great times.
Underrated band
Underrated twist take on a song

Very poetic to see grandma look over and think how much life and love the young generation has yet to experience
And now watching the end even more poetic the grandma is still not dead yet plenty of love left. It's in the eyes
What great band they were
One of the 70s best hit makers. I'd think everybody knows this treasure.
"Love Hurts" is a song written and composed by the American songwriter Boudleaux Bryant. First recorded by the Everly Brothers in July 1960.
This is an awesome song, loved it way back when and still loving it now.😊
Good one. Lulu would love so many Metal musicians that were around back in that era. I took a chance on Nazareth "Hair of the Dog." Ending up with owning every album they had out. I love their cover of "Shapes" by David Bowie. 0:17, Lulu almost looked like her avatar.
Shapes is really an old Yardbird song. Bowie did a cover. Jim
Welcome back Lulu. Watch out Donna, Lulu is swinging her arms again. LOL
They wrote some of the most beautiful ballads ever. “Love Hurts” is possibly the first ever power ballad.
They didn't wrote this Song. It is a Cover Version. The Song is written by Boudleaux Bryant und first released 1960 by the Everly Brothers.
@theheepster You are correct.
Yes I knew “Love Hurts” was a cover but they wrote a lot of their own great ballads. “Sunshine”, “Moonlight Eyes”, “Hearts Grown Cold”, “You Shot Me Down”, “Dream On”, etc.
RAZZAMANAZ was the first LP I bought.. i was 12 yrs old .. awesome band..

High school flashback here. Had this on 8-track, I believe, back in '75.
The lead singers cousin is the lead singer for CCR.
That's Dan Cafferty on vocals. Great band from way back. Great choice and a great reaction you guys. 🙋♂

I had a Narazeth tour poster on my wall.

One of the greatest songs ever written and played - Naz were sadly a very under rated band.

Now you need to react to Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog." The non bleeped out version WLS used back in the seventies.
Just love it. 💯❤️❤️💯🇮🇹
You guys would like the title track of this album (Hair Of The Dog). You've probably heard it, it was another big hit for them that still gets radio airplay to this day.

From Dunfermline in my home country of Scotland.
That is what I loved about the Seventies. Everyone had dreamy hair. If your hair wasn't down to at least your shoulders that was considered short hair.
That whole Hair of the Dog album Rocks!
I love your reaction videos, and all 3 of you ladies are absolutely beautiful... Maybe you can do whikey drinking woman by Nazareth next that's my fav of their songs.
They opened the show when i went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1977.
Another great Scottish band
first sung by " JIM CAPALDI" many years ago
I call out my family on artists and songs also! Papa and I need to play name that tune with classic songs 👍
great choice Ladies my era this flight tonight was the best and my white bicycle 2nd love hurts 3rd but all good
Love this song but "Whiskey drinkin woman" is my jam ✌💖☮
Hair of the dog is also a famous one of theirs. It was used for some athletes intros and football teams.
They were the first that started off rock ballads with love hurts
The song came out while I was in grade school, many of the people in my area thought it was Aerosmith. It didn't take long to find out though,lol.....
Great Scottish band❤❤❤
Saw them in 1977 at the auditorium theater Chicago blew reo speedwagon out of the building
You ladies should do the title track Hair Of The Dog. Dan played the bagpipes for the solo when I saw them at the Capital Center in Largo Maryland.
Thanks for subbing!
Se eu escutar 100 vezes, eu vou viajar no solo ❤❤❤
I’m not buying Lulu a coffee today. I think he has got enough energy already 😂☺️
My favorite Nazareth song is "carry out feelings"😊
Love you guys accent especially mom lol
As a Canadian, I agree. Nazareth was big news in Canada.
It's an old Everly Brothers tune from 1960...
