I also thought Touge Oni vol 1 was alright but vol 2 and onwards is actually pretty amazing (and I'm lowkey obsessed). Hope you'll check out vol 2 online or something before dropping it completely :)

I think we had pretty similar feelings on Touge Oni, Darwin Incident, and #DRCL. I actually really enjoyed The Essence of Being a Muse and it's only 3 volumes long. I didn't have Centaurs on my radar but I heard so many people rave about it so I had to pick it up.
I didn’t know Muse is only 3 volumes long, I’ll probably end up finishing it then. Hopefully you enjoy Centaurs!

Yeah it’s from a smaller publisher so that could be why there’s some distribution issues. Hopefully you’re able to get a copy soon!

Yeah the Darwin incident was just dropped for me, vol 2 was just a big no for me. Charlie was definitely the best of course with the action. Happy you liked Cat Eyed Boy it is really good. Tokyo Babylon looks really good, I love the art classic looking.
Yeah Clamp art is always super nice, especially the character designs. I just got volume 2 of The Darwin Incident so we’ll see what I think of it
I just purchased 4 volumes of Dark gathering after reading 11 chapters on SJ app but kinda thinking i should have just kept reading online 😅 hoping it keeps getting better. I need to put Centaurs on my radar!
I just got my copy of volume 4 of Dark Gathering, hopefully it’s more like volume 3 than the previous ones. I was very surprised by Centaurs, especially since I haven’t heard many people talking about it at all. Hopefully more people give it a try.

Centaurs sounds like I need to pick it up soon. I did not like Togue oni at all. As always I enjoy your reviews!

I’m so sorry for spamming your comment section with the Centaurs information. I just wanna bring as much attention to it as possible so that the publisher don’t get away with this disrespectful behavior. I’ll send a link to the twitter thread to anybody who wants it.
Ooooffff Touge Oni should not be compared to Frieren LOL its so soooo much worse. I got thru my volume and just could not care much at all for it either. My glitch was not in plastic (got mine from yen so maybe thats why) ooo Ima try centaurs based on ur review. I was waiting for it after you got it in a previous vid! Toni we should make a deal where I send you piles of new manga to keep but you give me a Toni review on all of them LOLOL
I did say it was worse than Frieren in every meaningful way lol, they just had a similar setting and I felt underwhelmed with both. Centaurs was so so good, I hope more people pick it up. I would definitely give reviews for any manga I received, but I can’t promise they’d be positive 😂 that’s why I don’t think I would ever accept review copies from publishers, I have way too much fun criticizing everything lol

I get sent a lot of manga from many publishers and they just want you to show em off etc. Never had a single one tell or even ask me to review them. If they did that they would be paying to be a sponsor of a vid etc which they never do.
I think you should reach out and get some free books! I just show them off in a unboxing or whatever. BUT in my hauls on other places I def say when they are dropped and didint like them plus when their quality control sucks butt LOL.
Okay sry for long comment I am internet friends with the owner of MerryManga so I think I will get centaurs and some of the other indi type stuff off of him too!
I did fill out the Yen Press review copy survey or whatever but they never reached out to me (I assume it’s because I don’t have enough subscribers). My other problem with accepting review copies is not knowing what to do with all the volumes I don’t want in my collection… I guess I could help fill up my local library’s manga collection through donations lol
