@@Ken-no5ip which ones specifically? I've been playing cod since world at war. The spawns have never been perfect. And some maps are definitely better than others at providing quality choke points, etc. But the core of cod's gameplay has always boiled down to arcade style shooting on not too large maps. Run and gun.
The spawns absolutely ruin the flow of maps. At first I thought the maps where bad but then I realized it was just the fact that everyone spawned behind everyone.
Another thing to note about the spawns on objective based modes is that often you play a match where your team never spawns close to the objective and the enemy team always spawns on top of it.
I hate respawning in the exact same spot repeatedly. I mostly play TDM so maybe it doesn't happen that way in the other modes, but 6v6 grinds me to no end knowing I'm gonna get spawn camped if my team is on the backfoot. In the large maps, spawns seem like they want to make you sniper bait. Run a few hundred meters through open air as punishment to get back to the action.
They need to just steal Halo maps for 6v6. Why are maps in CoD so fucking bad? Steal Counter-strike maps, quake maps, halo maps, anything but Cod maps. they are horrible
When it comes to progression, my favorite has always been the cod points from BO1. Use the points you earn to buy the weapons, attachments and camos you want, in the order you want. Loved it. And the wager matches made it so fun to gamble your points.
Only problem was that they fucking lied. Points to get weapons, perks, pick and choose what you want... Except you still need to level up and unlock those things, plus you had to earn the points to buy them on top of that. That was an absolute joke, if they wanted to roll a "buy what you want" system, they shouldn't have had things level-locked at the same time.
@@fuxxxie Nope, I distinctly remember feeling cheated by Treyarch with their BS marketing. Weapons cost 2K I think, Commando was locked until level 49 or something ridiculous like that. Famas was pretty early, level 12 or 14 I think, and the Aug was around 30. Unless this is major Mandela effect kinda thing, which would be par for the course these days.
@@Rb889 Yeah you might be right about that, but if a gun or attachment or camp came unlocked, you didn't have to buy it. Save your points for the next item you want instead, or start saving early for gold camo. I get what you're saying but I still loved that system.
It is really cool that they only added swimming where they felt it added something to the map. It can be tempting to go over board with a new mechanic.
Lobbies have been disbanding constantly for me as well. One thing I have noticed though is repeat teammates/enemies that leave and return a few games later. Like the pool of people I can play with is small or something.
It could also be the time of day you play. I get off work when the player pool is mostly sweats in all the games I play. One game is notorious for having a 50/50 desired win rate as it's SBMM target. I am in the bottom 3 pct of all players yet will go 5 games consecutive with players entire leagues of skill past me. It's worse if you're west coast.
my only good impression so far is Spec Ops which still needs more work especially on AI which is dumb as fuck and it is extremly easy. But other than that it is massive improved over 2019. The rest of the game including campagin is way worse than 2019. As was mentioned in the video, game feels very unfinished. This is basically beta which by some mistake got live...
The spawn aystem is something I hated in MW2019 too. Makes every game feel like an FFA where you need to constantly check every angle in all directions high and low and never get into any kind of battles for positions etc.
@@liam-rb5cv Both. We aren't limited to pick only one. MW2019 feels like people are spawning all over the place. This could also be a problem with match pace being too fast for map size. I would do an in-depth test if I had the time. Hope someone does.
@@Hedgehog1039 MW2019 is based on opposite approximate placement of players around the map. Meaning players will generally spawn at the opposite side of where you/your team are spawning. It isn't random, it is actually a lot more preferable than most recent CODs for me personally.
MW2019 are piss easy to read and very intuitive. As said already, the enemy would ALMOST (not perfect) always spawn on the opposite side of the action relative to you and your teammates. It was easy to guess that the furthest point on the map from you was a bad guy. Here, its like they spawn the enemy as close as fuck to you just so you get straight back into the fight like youve got adhd
I feel like they replaced SBMM with a system that that puts you against players you’re worse than for 2-4 games, and then one game where you’re better than your opponents, pop off and then feel better about yourself just to get crushed for the next 2-4 games
@@ToodlTonke212 Even if they just doubled that to tracking your last 10 matches, it’d probably help reduce some of that wild variation from 1-2 good games to 2-3 terrible games. 5 games isn’t enough to accurately track your performance among such a broad spectrum of people, skill levels, and connections.
The SBMM is insane. 5:12 there's absolutely no way my enemies would've allowed me to walk up to that cover and shoot them when they're prone like that. They usually shoot me before I can even process that they're around the corner, even when I have Ghost and DS active
This is why quit mw 2019. It was so predictably and cyclical with how you would perform. It felt like the game was totally controlling my experience and my improvement or slump didnt dictate much of anything. Just the same sequence of matches over and over
I feel like to me the SBMM is tuned even higher than it was in MW19, CW, and Vanguard. I've had one lobby stay together but then it disbanded after the second game.
SBMM just needs to not be a thing at all. The best game to game balance has been when they either didn't include it or had it tuned low. I don't know about Vanguard (skipped it) but CW wasn't that bad for having SBMM, likely tuned low, but game to game consistency was always better when they skipped it.
Agree on the spawns, I hate clearing an area and seconds later I have enemies spawning behind me. It's just a weird combat flow to constantly have to check behind you.
I think they were thinking about the perk timing feature as a way to balance giving us 4 perks. Maybe it can be a option like killstreak vs scorestreak, 3 constant perks or 2+2 perks. (you would pick it before entering the map)
I hope the devs spend time to watch the content their dedicated content creators make.I don’t expect them to bow down and do everything ace or others say, but I do believe ppl like ace have a very down to earth view on what makes these games fun and balanced.
Definitely. By definition, Ace's LITERAL JOB is to evaluate Call of Duty games. If they're going to listen to anyone's opinion, they should listen to the guy who's made a professional career out of reviewing and breaking down their game systems.
The spawn system makes it really hard to flank. If I try to flank as the enemy pushes our team, I either have my entire team spawn around me as they die, like you said, or i get two kills and the enemy team starts spawning behind my team instead so we're now the ones getting flanked.
I’ve definitely dealt with this when trying to flank and get double kills. Almost seems like a worse tactic in this game than just running straight at the enemy.
I agree with just about everything you said, especially about the inconsistencies in the hit detection. I think some of that can be attributed to ping and such. Some games it feels like I'm killing good and when I get killed it's legit, other times I feel like I should have melted this dude and when I look at the kill cam I was dead before I got 3 rounds off.
I love the attachment and gun unlock system. It's so much more interesting than just, "unlock gun A at level X then level gun A to level 70 to unlock attachments". I leveled the DEagle to level 4 just so I could unlock a blue dot optic for the guns I want to use. I would never have used the DEagle otherwise.
Re: Spawns. I actually had a team mate spawn in front of me, and as soon as she started to move, an enemy spawned in the exact same spot. Ally got shot in the back, and the enemy got shot in the face as soon as I figured out what was happening. No idea how close the enemies team mate was for him to spawn there, as I didn't see anyone. I think everyone was confused as hell.
Yeah it’s awful, I’ve started to clip them sometimes because it’s absurd. I’ve gotten killed, watched myself spawn in the killcam to die by the same guy again. I’ve had many times when I die I watch myself spawn in their killcam, it’s frustrating And one time in ground war I spawned in this guy’s sniper crosshairs (that was more funny than anything but still)
I was playing last night with 3 friends and all of us spawn in the sight line of an enemy sniper, who killed all of use and we then spawned in the exact same spot, we were able to kill him on our second spawn. The spawn system is so busted.
After watching ace since bo4 I’ve come to the conclusion if he ever balanced a cod game I would absolutely love it I always agree with him when speaking about these games
not to discredit ace, because i agree, but i think most of the longtime cod community (the ones that were around since cod4/mw2 era) could probably crowdsource concepts, designs, and balancing and come out with a superior game than anything sledge or activision have made in almost a decade lol.
@@McNutEVD They would, then half of the community will still say the game is trash. The cod community doesn't know what they want, they have ideas and features that they want but on the whole, we have no clue what a good game is to a bad game. Just look on how the public opinion changes on older cods. I'll give you 1.5 years from now and people will praise Vanguard for how refreshing and fast it was. Just watch.
@@LeSkinner we are very different individuals that want very different things. IW fans do not want the exact same CoD as 3arc fans. There's a reason one group favors one dev studio over the other. It's not that hard to figure out.
@@arashikazeshiba580 you would still see it as fast, you would just react too late to change it. i have multiple clips of 1 frame deaths, and since i play at 144hz and record at 60fps some of these clips literally have me just suddenly being dead without even a single frame of damage taken lmao
@@arashikazeshiba580 I mean difference in ping, normally you would still die fast but feel like you could have fought back, I feel in MW2 you die so fast and if someone has better ping you can die even if you shoot first
People care too much about ping. I use exitlag and played on different servers like Tokyo with 180 ping and New York with 100 ping. On both I performed same as in my origin country… this doesn’t mean it has no effect, at same time keep in mind, cod is just a game. We are not esports competitor in championship. In Long Term, if you wanna have fun and enjoy the game, just play the game no matter what your kd is. Developing mastered mindset isn’t a easy process, but if you succeed, you are going to be the happiest player.
I feel like the gun balancing was one of the best improvements in a while, had a friend on the fence of buying it that asked me if there was any gun that you’re at a complete disadvantage if you’re not using it and I couldn’t think of one, there’s a good amount of great guns but nothing that’s “have to use”
YES exactly, it even goes as far as attachments for guns too. It’s not like MW2019 where you HAVE to use angled foregrip, stippled griptape, 5mw laser and monolithic suppressor despite allll the different cool attachments available
XclusiveAce which router is it and how do you force "Ping is King?" Pls explain. I always have to play on a 90 ping due to a 3.6KD and it's soooo crazy to play on that high ping. In Fifa its a 8ping 🤣🤣🤣
i swear every gun in this game is a 1 shot kill despite my average ping being like 12, the hitreg will take so long to register that sometimes i get insta beamed and other times it feels like i instabeamed my enemies
Having a bunch of sweaty players interact with casual players will kill off the player base. Any casual will leave the non ranked mode in favor of being able to play and you are left in the same shitty low pop servers. If you can't find games try something else out it's not that hard of a concept.... Like you are not a God cause you you can clean up a team of low skill players, you are just making the community toxic. If that's what you want go play against bots in invasion.
@@andrewfetter4843 okay bud. Even though literally everyone is complaining it’s obviously a bad idea. I just don’t want to sweat every game. I’m sorry you don’t have opposable thumbs though. The best cods didn’t throttle games to this extent which is why everyone agrees they were better games. MW2 is for snowflakes who need big brother to get them through life.
I think the lobbies disbanding is also due to the skill based matchmaking. Many times you get in a game that’s very unbalanced or competitive and people feel the need to look for another lobby.
just a note on the spawn system they use, its called squad spawns it was seen in MW 2019 and Vanguard, basically its where u spawn on ur teammates, regardless of where the objective is, so sometimes u will spawn behind the enemy's hardpoint even if one of ur teammates is there
As someone who is a casual player at best. I agree with everything in this video. Played 20 matches tonight and you are completely accurate with all this. Again Ace you're the reason I got into cod in the first place way back in Infinite Warfare. Watch you're videos before I ever buy a title and sometimes not buying at all because of your indepth look at things. Keep it up bud.
This could have been one of the greater releases for Call of Duty in the last decade if they would have made a traditional perk system instead of what we currently have. There's still plenty to like about this game although I feel it would have been that much better had it been a pick 10 system or something instead.
They changed the perk system because secretly its really designed for Warzone. Vanguard did the same thing by making their WW2 guns more modernised to compete with the Coldwar/MW2019 guns.
I feel if they wanna keep this perk system and mini map then it’s about time the UAV becomes a little higher of a streak to get cause the spam is out of control, and to feel like u always have to run ghost on every class is not very exciting when it comes to wanting to build different load outs
3 Things they have to do: - 1) Make Ghost a Tier 1 or 2 perk. Make Ghost only active when moving like BO2/3. 2) Bring back the old mini-map so that players have a better sense of direction. 3) Let players mismatch score/killstreaks that are in the same tier.
More people should use counter UAV. I don’t know why they don’t honestly. People only care about killing and not helping the team out. Same people who don’t go for the objective and just ignore it and run around killing people
@@L0-C01 But it is so bad on most maps. Breenberg it is strong but mostly I instant shoot it down. Every weapon can shoot it down in half a clip i feel like.
1:08 Definitely agree with you on the maps, border crossing can be a nightmare at times though b/c all the cars can blow up lol. 6:35 they improved it some from Beta but still dying 1-3 times almost instantly when I spawn depending on match length.
Hey Ace some anecdotal evidence about disbanding lobbies: I did play three lobbies consecutively with the same players. There was a team of 3 people that me and my friend played against, talking shit. Then the next game, we were still playing with those 3 people (I don't know if all the other players were the same though) but on the same team this time. After that match I said my goodbyes to those guys expecting to disband, but to our surprise in the third game we were still in the same lobby. Then after that it disbanded. As a casual player I always heard you talking about why disbanding lobbies suck, and how you'd make rivalries and friendships through persistent lobbies, but never really had that experience. Until now with those 3 dudes. In the first game playing against them I hated them and wanted to play against them again. But then we played together and formed a short-term friendship. It was a lot of fun and finally understand why disbanding lobbies are a bad thing.
My biggest issue is that sometimes my gun feels like I’m shooting airsoft bb’s, and then other matches. I feel like a beast like nobody else can touch me. I know you mentioned this in your review, but I just wanted to say I agree with you. A perfect example is the X 13 auto. Some matches it out guns everybody and other matches I need a whole mag in order to kill anybody. It’s odd
An issue you didn't mention (maybe it's exclusively xbox one) is that I have to completely back out of matchmaking to adjust my classes 90% of the time. It just kicks you back to the lobby menu when you try
Nope it's on pc as well anytime a new lobby or the party hosts change search options you are thrown back to the main menu. Only other pet peve is the lack of being able to save a weapon configuration.
Addition: Everytime I play, between rounds the Killstreaks menu disappears and all my loadouts disappear and are replaced by generic custom loadout 1, 2 etc. The only way to then modify my load out is at the beginning of the round. Or we have to drop out of the lobby, make changes then find a new lobby.
I usually only play SnD type gamemodes, so the lobbies stay together longer because people arent unlocking things as fast. I think thats why a majority of lobbies are disbanning, because the fact the game just came out - people want to leave lobby right as they unlock so they can customize.
On my end I haven't been in a single lobby that didn't disband. Also, even aside from the connection inconsistencies, the bullet velocity seems to be a decent amount slower than we're used to
8:48 I wish they would fix and add more information when the 🏆icon appears, i want to see what i have unlocked ie - Camos and attachments. Maybe one or two players stay in the lobbies but 90% of the time they will disband.
I'm ready for Hardcore now. I'm starting to feel about this like I did the beta. Yep, tried everything, now let me play my game I enjoy. Perk system is probably my biggest gripe. IT doesn't make sense to punish you for pushing and reward you "for camping".
I'm enjoying the game, and it definitely has it's ups and downs for me, but it definitely feels like they gave us Beta 2.0. Hoping the Nov 16th update adds a lot.
I always shoot down uavs for my team, but I’m often struggling to find them in the sky, especially the counter. I usually then get killed by an enemy. Very poor balance imo.
With the disbanding lobbies, it’s hard to see how that will work effectively with the filter quick play system. Seems like it’s unlikely that we will get the same lobby when others don’t have the exact same filter options selected
I'm on the Xbox 1X and can confirm that turning off crossplay dramatically improves performance. Go to settings > general tab (choose online safety and family) > privacy & online safety > xbox live privacy > view details and customize > comm & multi-player > there should be 4 boxes, the second one says "you can play with people outside xbox live"... change that to block. Restart your xbox for the changes to take place and enjoy...
just fyi, im pretty sure lobbies do kinda stay together for a bit but we dont realise because when you have multiple game modes in your QP filter/ they dont make it obvious, you leave lobbies to find one in a new mode. when i only play snd or only play hp i find the same people constantly.
I know some don't care, but each Operator during the beta had their own unique default executions like MW2019, especially the Vault Edition operators. Now everyone is limited to one default execution like CW.
In addition to camo unlocks not showing up, I think in a future video you should make a point of how they handle in-game camouflage challenge notifications. It's so annoying when I know I hit a level on my gun that leads me to being able to start a camo challenge but in order to know what that is, I have to back out of the lobby and look at the camo screen. It would be much easier if they just put some text on the screen next to the gun level up notification to let you know right then and there what you need to do.
I play CoD super casually nowadays and I’ve had a ton of fun with this one. I have a couple small gripes like the progression system with guns. I have to upgrade two different Marksman rifles just to unlock the one Sniper i want. And I’m not too excited with the thought of having to unlock the attachments for it either. Not a fan of the border map but i like the others. The SBMM hasn’t been bad for me but that might be because im not hardcore sweating every match. I don’t like the trend of games releasing unfinished but i am hopeful for this game.
Yeah, unlocks are a convoluted easter egg hunt. Just let me unlock attachments by using the gun I want to use and let me unlock guns as I level up. This game has so much change for the sake of change.
I've found some of the maps way too dark, even with the screen brightness set to 'barely see the logo' setting. I've been playing a lot of the Co-Op Missions which I find are great, as it helps with level progression and also rank up that weapon for whichever you use or pick up within the mission. Can't wait for the Hardcore to be released on the 16th.
To be honest, people have said this is the same spawn system as MW19, but that game has clear spawn boundaries to each side of the map. If you're not playing HQ or TDM it's pretty easy to guys when you are going to flip spawns, but this game has people spawn right behind me all the time
I don't know why people are holding out for this season 1 patch like it's going to fix everything. Why is a date 2 weeks away going to be drastically different than the launch date we already hit?
i've definitely experienced a few times where lobbies have stayed together but it is not every match and i'm not sure if there's something that causes it to happen or not
@TheXclusiveAce I got a question for you. I am a old time player by that I mean like Nintendo 64 type of games and in the past before PS4 and excluding some game for the end cycle life of PS3 majority of the game were completed before lunch of game. So, my question do you believe that it’s good for these game companies to release these games unfinished? I also understand there can be unforeseen glitch which is fine but main parts of the game not there. And here’s my second question what is the best way to improve game releases now? Should they increase time to build a game, increase the price of buying that game so on and so forth what’s your thoughts?
The lobbys disbanding still happens veryyy often. I can't say I've paid attention to it much, but the times I notice it happen, usually by the next game the lobby is disbanded. So it keeps the lobby together for 1 more game before disbanding, and it only happens maybe every 3/10 games I've played.
Im glad we can finally jump on many models again. BO1 was the first cod that restricted getting on top of cars or even barrels. MW2 was so much fun trying to find jump spots and just additional sight lines and that all went away with BO1 and later cods.
Regarding 10:07 about lobby disbanding - I can confirm it worked for me. Just that the players on teams get shuffled around so you might end up facing a player your were previously on a team with
do the recoil smoothness attachments help with visual recoil? im wondering if that might be why you werent able to measure any change with just the bullet impacts
The problem with hit detection in some matches comes from SBMM. When you say some matches you almost “feel like a God”, probably SBMM is working in your way. On the other hand when you feel like you need to fire a hole charger to kill someone and on the other side they kill you almost instantly, that’s probably because the SBMM algorithm has found that you were doing too good… This feeling of being manipulated on every match is so frustrating and at the end we never really know if we did good or bad. It’s SBMM who decides who is going to win a match and you can’t do anything about it…
I think people focus on the fact that there’s no stats or hardcore, but aside from those flaws, and the obvious ones like some maps and guns, it really isn’t that bad of a game and this is honestly the most fun I’ve had playing a cod game since BO3 and cold war
@@STSummit well you are not wrong but you'll have to live with it. To these days there's no game that comes out complete, expecially multiplayer games, and we can't do nothing about it because people will buy it anyway (including you and I) and devs will complete it in the next few months. I know it's frustrating but it is the normal evolution of the market.
@@danimaio9745 i actually haven't bought it yet. i'm waiting for all the fixes and feature updates until i pay full price or just wait for a sale. i learned my lesson about preordering since bf2042.
I played few hours today with full 6 players premade squad and we had the same lobby for at least 3 or maybe even 4 matches, which were very close games, skill matchmake was great. I was very surprised, that this lobby didn't disband after first or second game and it felt preety nice.
Fix the spawns, tone down SBMM to prioritize connection, and add all the missing features and gamemodes that are expected at launch. They do that, they're golden.
Ik this is late and I’m not even sure if you’ll see this, ace, but regarding the section about hit detection, I haven’t done any in depth testing or anything like that other than shooting around in the firing range a little bit, but I think part of the issue is either guns in this game have the slightest amount of bloom, or bullets just don’t shoot where your sight is aiming a small amount of the time. I’ve had instances in the range where I’m aiming dead on target on the far dummy, taking a shot, and it’s just straight up missing despite me sitting completely still with my sights right on the target and taking single shots at a time to eliminate the possibility of recoil.
The more I think about it, more I feel like the locked attachments that cant be unlocked are probably for the season one weapons. They were seemingly pulled last minute and maybe their attachments lingered.
I feel like modern warfare 2019 had better graphics and the weapons sounded much better 😳 The game looks like mw19 and Cold War mixed Especially some maps look like treyarch maps not infinity ward
I have a strong feeling infinity ward didn't do the mp. It feels way too much like treyarch or sledge, the maps, the colors, the sound and feel is not infinity ward. Mw19 looked sounded and felt better. The guns sound and feel better. It felt like next gen, this game feels like sledgehammer or shitty old treyarch game
As someone who hasn't played a CoD game in many many years i absolutely cannot get the feel of map/battle flow for any mode outside of TDM, KC, and DOM modes because of the spawn system. it feels soooo random to me and i cannot position correctly because of it. But I'm doing pretty well in the modes mentioned earlier, but Hardpoint and Headquarters feel like total garbage to me right now.
Do you play quick play with a bunch of game modes or one game mode? I’m asking because I have never been in a lobby with the same people since the launch, and I thought they lied about fixing lobby disbanding.
@@-Orb For me, I sometimes get 2 matches in a row with the same people before moving on. I have most of the respawn modes (TDM, HP, Dom, and Kill Confirmed).
The Party trick really does work, I noticed when I was playing with friends I was doing decently well but never horrible. However solo is definitely a struggle
Completely opposite for me, I love the sbmm I finally get to play again instead of non stop deaths. When ever I party up my friends skill completely over shadows me and I get annihilated but when I am solo I can actually do decent.
@@andrewfetter4843 I suppose it depends how you compare to your friends. I.e. if you are much better than your friends, solo will be tough, playing with friends will be easier and the other way around.
I feel like the camo system in this game is an extremely satisfying and rewarding challenge system. One of the best since MW2 OG honestly. I wish they took this same approach with gun attachments. It seems like every one in a while there is an attachment that unlocks for all guns, but for the most part too many attachments are limited to one gun. Once you max out like 5-6 guns you start to have a wide selection of stuff to use on new guns, but it takes a long time to get to that point.
I knew the connection was weird and it wasn’t a skill issue on my part! I’ve had games where I dominated (I remember one were I went 45-4 with a sniper, which is something I don’t normally do) but the game straight after that my bullets just seemed to evaporate. Probably still is partly a skill issue, but glad to know I’m not the only person who thinks that hitreg is a little busted every now and then
@@thewickerman8462 yeah that’s the kinda stuff that happened. Joined a game late and got a couple kills and only died once in the game before the one I mentioned. After that I had several games where I wanted to throw my controller cause I was shooting air or marshmallows

All of this stuff people are saying isn’t true. If you went 45-4 then you was in a bot lobby and you got boosted into a sweaty lobby. They probably strafed more and you’re putting it down to hitreg
This game is a solid B. I'm sure in 2 to 3 months once the game is finished and more content is added this will be the greatest call of duty since the golden age of COD
@@TheXclusiveAce it kinda does imo, since you have to learn how to control the visual recoil/muzzle flash and stop firing when you see it best. Orr just add a flash guard
It add difficulty in visual identification and tracking a target. If you have to manage your bursts due to losing your target due to visual recoil then I would say it is added skill gap. As to actual recoil... players using a Chronus can program for that recoil. It takes actual visual acuity to deal with the visual recoil and re find your target if you have lost them.
I feel like Warzone 2.0 and it's mobile tie in was the main focus of this game and MP was an afterthought. The maps are clearly from the new warzone so they just set spawns to random and called it a day.
@@MitsurugiR First Cod in 19 years I didn't buy. Now, granted more than a couple of earlier games I did buy was not good, the beta for this one though made it a non starter for me.
I do have problems with the loadout selections menu. For example on loadout 10, it's meant to be a marksman rifle but it shows up as M4 as it is on my loadout 1. Also, I'm not fond of horizontal loadout selections; prefer vertical selections as it appeared in COD 2019.
I’m honestly really pleasantly surprised by this game so far. Ofc it isn’t perfect, but as you rightly said, the maps and gun balance at LAUNCH are really good, which makes up for the vast majority of enjoyment. I actually really like the border crossing map, just wish all the cars were blown up to begin with to stop all the free random frag kills, and domination should either be removed on that map or they should add some extra wide flank routes
The Perk System was already stated to be something that would become problematic really early on. The spawn system hasn't been great the last few years.
I played cold wars two months before this game came out and spawns were fine for me…never really spawned with two players looking at me or me spawning right behind their back like mw2 is currently. I played mw2019 also and spawns were not as bad as this
I really miss the minimap, personally I think it would help with the flow to at least see where the action is and it would allow for a greater variety of streaks. Right now I run UAV and counter UAV because both give you such a big advantage. You can’t even rely on the gunfire since the decoys are being spammed like crazy.
I remember old CODs you would see the same person in your lobby maybe once. The past 4 of them I’ve seen the same people in my lobbies at least 3 times a week sometimes multiple times a day. Playing by yourself with SBMM makes me want to break my controller on my head.
Gun platforming and progression is my favorite part of the game I love that you've got to try some different things out. Or that Gold camo isn't grindy. The rest will be worked on, that's the point of giving it a 2 year cycle to work out issues for the longevity of the game
I love the (general) gun balance. I can run around like crazy with an spr, or chill with a tac rifle and still do good. smg range is a little rough, and perks are definitely wonky.
I like the game, first cod i ranked to 55(or max lvl) since mw3! Some weapons are a pain to lvl up (EBR45 etc), but then when you get it to lvl15+ you kind of starting to like it after you changed your playstyle a little. And finally there are so many good clear vision sights 🙏🏼 Makes it more fun to switch around
Can you explain how you use your router to "filter your connection"? Are you using your own DNS entries to redirect certain dns queries to different ips?
The only thing I disagree with is the attachment balance. There could obviously be some fine tuning, but overall it's great that naked guns can be competitive and that you don't have to use a gun for a week to find out its true potential.
"All I'm doing is running around the map aimlessly and hoping I see them before they see me"....Dude just described my entire approach
I mean... Isn't that the cod formula though?
@@nica2411 No. Go play older cods, youll notice how structured the games really are because spawns are good and the map layouts promote good flow

I thought I was the only one this was happening to😂
I’ve spawned in front of a shooting enemy three times!
Died immediately after spawning right in front of someone who was aiming down sight. He didn't even need to adjust his aim, he just pressed shoot 🤣
Spawns and a normal mini map. Just these two things would help improve the game so much I’m not even kidding. The game feels good but plays sooo bad
Sometimes teams are so unbalanced. Also spawn are awful
The team balancing is that way on purpose sadly
Spawns should NEVER be predictable and I've always seen that as a huge flaw in old call of duty games, so good on them for fixing that

Another thing to note about the spawns on objective based modes is that often you play a match where your team never spawns close to the objective and the enemy team always spawns on top of it.
Yeah that fucking happens a lot I hate it
I hate respawning in the exact same spot repeatedly.
Yeah, invasion on some maps is so punishing, getting spawn camped in CoD is not fun.
Yesss
Only problem was that they fucking lied. Points to get weapons, perks, pick and choose what you want... Except you still need to level up and unlock those things, plus you had to earn the points to buy them on top of that. That was an absolute joke, if they wanted to roll a "buy what you want" system, they shouldn't have had things level-locked at the same time.
@@Rb889 maybe im remembering wrong but... i dont remember that, i specifically remember being able to buy whatever i wanted from level 5
@@fuxxxie Nope, I distinctly remember feeling cheated by Treyarch with their BS marketing. Weapons cost 2K I think, Commando was locked until level 49 or something ridiculous like that.

Sounds like SBMM
I have seen the same names a couple of times, sometimes in my team, sometimes on the enemy team
I don't know how it is for you, but those people who I see again after a few games are always on the enemy team - they're never on my team.
I think it really has potential if the devs take the community feedback seriously. Despite the issues, I’ve been having a good time overall
my only good impression so far is Spec Ops which still needs more work especially on AI which is dumb as fuck and it is extremly easy. But other than that it is massive improved over 2019. The spawn aystem is something I hated in MW2019 too. Makes every game feel like an FFA where you need to constantly check every angle in all directions high and low and never get into any kind of battles for positions etc.
MW2019 had a totally opposite spawn system to MW2 though. Pick one you dislike.

Its not fully released. It wont be until warzone release and we get DMZ. We are still in beta.
We just payed for a 3 year build by 3k devs... we just payed for an extended beta...
I feel like they replaced SBMM with a system that that puts you against players you’re worse than for 2-4 games, and then one game where you’re better than your opponents, pop off and then feel better about yourself just to get crushed for the next 2-4 games
If I recall correctly the sbmm in 2019 only took the last 5 matches into consideration when matching you so that sounds about right anyway lmao
Thats what sbmm has always done
@@ToodlTonke212 Even if they just doubled that to tracking your last 10 matches, it’d probably help reduce some of that wild variation from 1-2 good games to 2-3 terrible games.

Yes. Sbmm is severe in almost every game
Idk I feel like it’s chill either that or I’m just goated

I don't know about Vanguard (skipped it) but CW wasn't that bad for having SBMM, likely tuned low, but game to game consistency was always better when they skipped it.
Agree on the spawns, I hate clearing an area and seconds later I have enemies spawning behind me. It's just a weird combat flow to constantly have to check behind you.
I thought I was just not clearing rooms properly, to have so many enemy appear behind me. What a weird way to do spawns
I think they were thinking about the perk timing feature as a way to balance giving us 4 perks. Maybe it can be a option like killstreak vs scorestreak, 3 constant perks or 2+2 perks. (you would pick it before entering the map)
This is what I was thinking. I cant imagine anyone would actually use the 2+2 tho
@@crossey000 the fourth perk would have to almost be a crutch perk, like assassin from mw3 or something

I love that Ace calls out some aspects of the game that many folks overlook, like the ability to jump on anything, etc. Excellent video.
Yeah Ace is a real one for bringing up the good and the bad.
I hope the devs spend time to watch the content their dedicated content creators make.I don’t expect them to bow down and do everything ace or others say, but I do believe ppl like ace have a very down to earth view on what makes these games fun and balanced.
Tbh devs should be watching ace. His reviews and breakdown of the game is beyond what most people are doing.
Definitely.
By definition, Ace's LITERAL JOB is to evaluate Call of Duty games. If they're going to listen to anyone's opinion, they should listen to the guy who's made a professional career out of reviewing and breaking down their game systems.
Ace is definitely the No 1 the CoD advocate when it comes to an realistic and practical approach.
I think if they were to listen to anyone....it would be this guy...100%

The spawn system makes it really hard to flank. If I try to flank as the enemy pushes our team, I either have my entire team spawn around me as they die, like you said, or i get two kills and the enemy team starts spawning behind my team instead so we're now the ones getting flanked.
I’ve definitely dealt with this when trying to flank and get double kills. Almost seems like a worse tactic in this game than just running straight at the enemy.

I agree with just about everything you said, especially about the inconsistencies in the hit detection. I think some of that can be attributed to ping and such.
The deagle feels damn GOOD
That happens in almost every match for me, it's incredibly frustrating
I spawn in an enemy’s line of sight and get riddled with bullets as soon as i start to move every so often too
Yeah it’s awful, I’ve started to clip them sometimes because it’s absurd. I’ve gotten killed, watched myself spawn in the killcam to die by the same guy again. I’ve had many times when I die I watch myself spawn in their killcam, it’s frustrating
And one time in ground war I spawned in this guy’s sniper crosshairs (that was more funny than anything but still)
I've spawned right behind people that killed me.
Way easier said than done.

The maps and ttk leave much to be desired. That and SBMM. Still don’t know why they can’t make two playlists so people can play how they want.
Having a bunch of sweaty players interact with casual players will kill off the player base.

People would still cry
+ a ton of other changes it needs imo
@John Greek I would agree with that 👍
They changed the perk system because secretly its really designed for Warzone.
3 Things they have to do:
-
1) Make Ghost a Tier 1 or 2 perk. Make Ghost only active when moving like BO2/3.
2) Bring back the old mini-map so that players have a better sense of direction.
3) Let players mismatch score/killstreaks that are in the same tier.
This will result in less UAV spam. Maybe add in a Dead Silence buff or have it as a perk, too.
More people should use counter UAV. I don’t know why they don’t honestly. People only care about killing and not helping the team out. Same people who don’t go for the objective and just ignore it and run around killing people
I was talking with my bro about this when we were playing the other night. It's just UAV after UAV after UAV the entire game.

The nade at 5:45 😂
I'm curious to learn more about filtering datacenters with your router. Do you have any resources to provide that describes this in detail?
Same shit on PS5, it's so annoying
Nope it's on pc as well anytime a new lobby or the party hosts change search options you are thrown back to the main menu. Only other pet peve is the lack of being able to save a weapon configuration.
Addition: Everytime I play, between rounds the Killstreaks menu disappears and all my loadouts disappear and are replaced by generic custom loadout 1, 2 etc. The only way to then modify my load out is at the beginning of the round. Or we have to drop out of the lobby, make changes then find a new lobby.
turning off crossplay in the xbox console settings was a great tip to help mitigate SBMM thank you for that
I usually only play SnD type gamemodes, so the lobbies stay together longer because people arent unlocking things as fast. I think thats why a majority of lobbies are disbanning, because the fact the game just came out - people want to leave lobby right as they unlock so they can customize.
On my end I haven't been in a single lobby that didn't disband. Also, even aside from the connection inconsistencies, the bullet velocity seems to be a decent amount slower than we're used to
For a future video could you check to see if there's a difference in damage to vehicles between Armor-Piercing and Incendiary rounds?
8:48 I wish they would fix and add more information when the 🏆icon appears, i want to see what i have unlocked ie - Camos and attachments. Maybe one or two players stay in the lobbies but 90% of the time they will disband.

Yeah its a trade off. I do miss some classic lobbies, but having my favorite game modes all rotating keeps the game fresh so its a catch 22
You could always force the same game mode I guess
If you're not playing HQ or TDM it's pretty easy to guys when you are going to flip spawns, but this game has people spawn right behind me all the time
All the ''Core Features'' should be added with the Season 1 Patch.
If not, then it means that almost 50% of the game is missing. 8:30

Ehhh disagree.
Too much bullshit like that makes people play degenerate and ruins what the proper flow of the game is to be.
Regarding 10:07 about lobby disbanding - I can confirm it worked for me. Just that the players on teams get shuffled around so you might end up facing a player your were previously on a team with

The game has a lot of issues but the core of it is great. It's very frustrating to play the game but it somehow still keeps me engaged.
Exactly
Core is great?

The good outweigh the bad when it comes to fun.
@@jolbertti7421 movement is good you can’t just slide to win anymore to not get hit. You get punished for bad positioning or plays
@@jolbertti7421 did you even watch the video? ace would disagree with you noobski
Feels good to watch you reviewing the game. Respect your opinion along with your content. Good shit
do the recoil smoothness attachments help with visual recoil? im wondering if that might be why you werent able to measure any change with just the bullet impacts
The problem with hit detection in some matches comes from SBMM. When you say some matches you almost “feel like a God”, probably SBMM is working in your way. On the other hand when you feel like you need to fire a hole charger to kill someone and on the other side they kill you almost instantly, that’s probably because the SBMM algorithm has found that you were doing too good…
This feeling of being manipulated on every match is so frustrating and at the end we never really know if we did good or bad.
It’s SBMM who decides who is going to win a match and you can’t do anything about it…
You're saying they change the damage of your bullets to make you weaker after you've done well?
I think people focus on the fact that there’s no stats or hardcore, but aside from those flaws, and the obvious ones like some maps and guns, it really isn’t that bad of a game and this is honestly the most fun I’ve had playing a cod game since BO3 and cold war
This.
no one likes paying for an incomplete game. this has been in every game and the fact that we dont get it on launch is absurd.
Cold war sucked
The non respawn mode are amazing in this game !
Markman rifles are nuts in those mode for me
@@neonwhitea.1548 ahahah they are … you need a marksman sniper or ar in those modes …
Everyone just sound whores. How is that amazing?
@@revandierx291 lol people been sound whoring for decades … i remember the original mw2 with dead silence and astros a 40 … this is nothing new
I feel like modern warfare 2019 had better graphics and the weapons sounded much better 😳
The game looks like mw19 and Cold War mixed
Especially some maps look like treyarch maps not infinity ward
I have a strong feeling infinity ward didn't do the mp. It feels way too much like treyarch or sledge, the maps, the colors, the sound and feel is not infinity ward. Mw19 looked sounded and felt better. The guns sound and feel better. It felt like next gen, this game feels like sledgehammer or shitty old treyarch game
@@carlobrigante4764 what are you smoking and can I get some of dat
As someone who hasn't played a CoD game in many many years i absolutely cannot get the feel of map/battle flow for any mode outside of TDM, KC, and DOM modes because of the spawn system. it feels soooo random to me and i cannot position correctly because of it. But I'm doing pretty well in the modes mentioned earlier, but Hardpoint and Headquarters feel like total garbage to me right now.
So, what's up with not being able to change the reticle? Is it all platforms or PlayStation exclusive?
I have actually been staying with the same lobby pretty regularly. Sometimes I realize that the teams are just too unbalanced and I have to leave.
I’m so happy a guy like this exists to point out the broken wrongs and unfixed nonsense of games
What about the missing maps from the beta? Dont you think they should have replaced it? Granted museum was kinda crap, but i feel shorted.
I knew the connection was weird and it wasn’t a skill issue on my part! I’ve had games where I dominated (I remember one were I went 45-4 with a sniper, which is something I don’t normally do) but the game straight after that my bullets just seemed to evaporate. Probably still is partly a skill issue, but glad to know I’m not the only person who thinks that hitreg is a little busted every now and then
It's EOMM. The game manipulates your performance. Go +2.5 k/d two games in a row. I guarantee your bullets won't work the third game.
@@thewickerman8462 yeah that’s the kinda stuff that happened. Joined a game late and got a couple kills and only died once in the game before the one I mentioned. After that I had several games where I wanted to throw my controller cause I was shooting air or marshmallows
And somehow, the hitboxes just aren't where they are supposed to be. So often, I shot someone no moving straight in the head three times and it just didn't registered.
@@thewickerman8462 i had like a 5kd the first week, since then my bullets just dont work, my spawns feel way worse (im literally spawning in their line of sight where i just died or teammates just died all the time now or have enemies spawn behind me), my hit regs are terrible now and i dont want to camp and see like what 15 people?
All of this stuff people are saying isn’t true. If you went 45-4 then you was in a bot lobby and you got boosted into a sweaty lobby. They probably strafed more and you’re putting it down to hitreg
This game is a solid B. I'm sure in 2 to 3 months once the game is finished and more content is added this will be the greatest call of duty since the golden age of COD
I love the visual recoil. Makes the guns feel more lively and adds extra skill gap.
Actual recoil adds to the skillgap, visual recoil doesn't since it can't be learned or compensated for.
@@TheXclusiveAce it kinda does imo, since you have to learn how to control the visual recoil/muzzle flash and stop firing when you see it best. Orr just add a flash guard
@@morocolaatdi3018 Maybe that's what they're going for. The illusion of skill gap.
@TheXclusiveAce how do you change the settings in your router to filter for the better connection? I have a net gear gaming router/modem combo
I'm just waiting for it to go on sale next month lol
The weapon Leveling in this game is great. It's nice not seeing 1 or 2 guns that are meta being the only thing used
As someone who is outside of the COD community, I think that this game is a really good shooter, but maybe not the COD the COD players want
Y u watching this vid tho
It’s almost exactly what CoD players want, not the clown fiesta that was MW2019.
@TheXclusiveAce
Is it possible to use ExitLag to accomplish the same result, or at least similar, to that of your special router?
I honestly don't know. It does something completely different but it may end up giving similar results.
@@TheXclusiveAce
I'll attempt some tests and see if it helps my game while streaming, and try to share results here, if any.
I think it's super easy to figure out where people are without the map.
I actually like the perk system, takes me back to the cod4 days when you called in a UAV and it was actually useful
The day Stopping Power was taken out as a perk was the slow downfall of CoD imo.
