1am from ACNL is hands down my all-time favorite animal crossing song. As a little kid iI would sneak my DS into my bed and stay up till 1 just to listen to it. So many times have I fallen asleep listening to it. The nostalgia hits hard

I usually play ACNL on and off all evening after work and all the night songs are incredible in my opinion, and usually I go to bed by 2 AM, so I usually turn it off somewhere in the 1 AM music, and it's just the best song to listen to before bed, gets your mind in a calm and peaceful state.
New Horizons doesn’t have a great soundtrack in my opinion, many of it is very slow and forgettable and that is such a shame because music is such an important aspect of any game.

Agreed! I'm a huge fan of design/creativity so I love it solely for the terraforming/outdoor furniture placement/outdoor pattern placement/DIYS/general island and home customization/fashion, but aside from that, everything else falls flat. The villagers have no personality and are always nice, they repeat themselves way too often, Isabelle is more robotic than ever, as is everyone else, really, the music is boring and obnoxious, and it's general just lost that relaxing quirkiness. They took several steps forward gameplay wise, but at the cost of its soul. Makes me kind of sad.
My absolute favourite is new leaf 7pm, and I literally teared up when I heard it. It's just so reassuring and calm, it feels like mom's comforting words muffled by a hug. And it describes 7pm perfectly, at least for me. Seeing parents come home from work and having the whole family finally sit together for dinner, sharing what happened during everyone's day, the good and the bad. I miss those days.

You're good haha but I encourage you to play NL just to see the differences with NH, because you'll find that NL was ahead in a lot of ways. You phrase it as "the same except without the stuff they added in NH," realistically NH took a lot of the novelties NL had out, with some coming back in updates. The music was nicer, the villagers had more personality, there was just more to do. I plan to cover this more in a future video, but please play NL it's worth it- even without the online culture and if you need friends, I will deadass play it with you
i agree with what mr voyan said 100%! please play animal crossing new leaf and you'll probably never want to go back to new horizons other than to take a break from the pixelated graphics. while new leaf IS watered down in comparison to it's predecessors in terms of villager interactions, it's MILES ahead of new horizons. villagers will ask you to visit, they'll visit you, you can even buy furniture from their homes, it's just a whole lot more fun than new horizons (at the moment). if you don't have any friends to play new leaf with, I'd gladly play with you (✿^‿^)
They're both good and I end up appreciating things from both games. NH has better graphics, big pockets (40 slots!), outdoor furniture, flowers don't die but NL has more facilities (Brewster, Katrina, Club lol), better interaction with the villagers and island minigames.

Personally, I'm astonished you ranked 12am from ACNL so low, it's one of my favorites! I love the way the rapid high piano notes add this feeling of mysticism and serenity. This theme always felt so magical to me, especially since I almost never got to hear it. Definitely one of my top 3 ^^

The music in animal crossing is one of its most important aspects. I remember playing wild world and spending hours dawdling while listening to the soundtrack every single day. It really helps it’s case as wild world has so little to do. Yet it’s soundtrack has been able to keep me invested in the game, even when I have done everything for the day. Really miss the older music.
Tbh, this just made me realize that I love all the music of the animal crossing franchise. Every hour has its unique approach and vibe to it. Though I might be blinded by nostalgia, but every hour of ww was an absolute banger to me and I still listen to it when drawing

Towards the end of this video, I sat in my kitchen listening to the 5pm soundtrack from New Leaf. The ambient sound of the river water and the feet crunching against the grass alongside the music was so beautiful and relaxing. Now that New Leaf is 7 years old, it's almost nostalgic. 5pm New Leaf has been and always will be a beautiful piece of music and by far my favourite of all
This video made me so emotional, the stuff you said about the music of new leaf closer to the #1 spot, it’s so relatable and nostalgic. Reminds me of the times i’d sneakily play it late at night to meet my friends, or playing early in the morning before school
new leaf 1am has a special place in my heart because its melancholy, yet calming melody really resonated with me whenever i would play the game at 1am, so much that i learned to play it on piano. to see it on top 5 warms my heart because it brings back those fond memories when all that mattered was checking on my new leaf town (which i have unfortunately abandoned due to disinterest)

I really like your countdowns for ac. Like they are super easy to watch, I didn't even notice the 16 mins go by watching this, it doesn't drag and it gets straight to the point, it's great!
As a kid, my bedtime was actually eight. My sisters and I all shared an Animal Crossing Wild World cartridge, and because of that, I'd know bedtime was almost upon me when I'd hear the eight pm music (as we liked to timeskip just a tad). To this day it's hands down my favorite Animal Crossing track of all time, followed shortly by New Leaf's seven pm theme. Just feels like a soothing lullaby.
This was a great video! I think that the best song is definitely 7pm or 1am New Leaf. Something about these two really bring me back to my first experiences being alone and playing AC. They are super melancholy and capture every feeling I had during this time where I was started to really grow up. The synth bass hits my soul and the accordion resurrects me.

Not gonna lie when I first started the video I was just like man this guys preferences isn't even close to mine. 5pm new lead invokes so many emotions inside both melancholic and sweet. absolutely beautiful. i remember sitting in my room around 5pm looking out my window and watching the sun set while this played and would just think and feel 🩷
New Leaf’s 7PM is my favourite personally. I don’t know what it is about it but it just sticks in my head. It’s almost haunting and yet hopeful, as you said, and the first time I heard it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. To this day, it stills gives me an Emotion. Idk what emotion but one of them. While so many of my other favourite soundtracks are upbeat and happy and fun, 7PM feels so different and I love it.

I’d mainly play animal crossing new leaf on weekends because I’d go to my grandparents house at the weekend while my mom worked and I’d stay there till Sunday night and when I was around 9 or 10 I would always listen to the 8pm music whilst crying wishing that my mom would come back sooner and I’d literally have to time travel an hour forward just to not hear it and start crying
4 AM is my favorite song in all of animal crossing and I cannot thank you enough for putting it so high. I remember one day just going "Huh I've never heard the late night songs in this game. I'm gonna time travel to head them" and when I got to 4 AM, I physically stopped and put the 3DS speaker up to my ear for serveal minutes. Never had done that with any other song in the series. I thought it was peaceful and beautiful. I never knew about Aika Village before hearing this song for the first time, so I had no idea people assioated this song with fear and unnervingness, and even after going to Aika village myself, the song still doesn't have any creepy vibe for me. It's still that beautiful song I heard that one day from curiousity. I love the ticking sound effect in that song, and how the song gets louder and quieter as it goes through it. It really gives a peaceful vibe for me, but also a sense of faint sadness. I would time travel just so I could play with this song playing. That childhood memory of accidentally discovering it fills me with so much nostalga. This will forever be my favorite song in all of Animal Crossing. Its criminal how underrated it is.
I don’t know why, but I’ve always preferred the Wild World track over the City Folk one, even though they’re basically the same thing. Especially the 8pm track-something about the wild world one sounds so close to home for me idk how to explain it lol.
I've been playing a lot of Wild World for an upcoming video and yeah, despite the DS's limitations, I do like the sound direction better on a few tracks over Cityfolk. Specifically 2 AM with it's L/R fades that makes it feel like you're dreaming, which at 2 AM you probably are.
I'll give you credit for making a video such as this however I do feel some of the comments on certain tracks are a bit lacking as to why you dislike or like the track. Honestly it gives me inspiration to make my own video on the soundtracks of various AC games so I'll give you that as well. I feel overall if you are going to rank such a large selection of music I'd say you'd need to do it on a per game basis. Each game has its own unique quality to it which I feel helps bring out the best of each track, even the more underwhelming ones. I will say I give your major major credit for actually saying that a lot of the NL music is lackluster. I feel a lot of people have such a strong attachment to that instalment they sometimes fail to realise that a lot of the tracks in that game are not "bad" but rather slow or not really fitting which how most of the music in the series sounds. For me in terms of complete soundtracks compared to each other its GC > NH > WW/CF > NL The Gamecube OST as a whole is such a complete package and I feel like making a whole video discussing each track in that game. Wild World & City Folk have some of the most iconic and well know tracks in the series such as the Title Theme and Brewsters Roost. New Leaf has some of the most tranquil music I've ever heard but I wish it was more energetic with a lot of it hourly themes. New Horizons to me feels like a step in the right direction however I do feel like they played a lot more of the "tropical" side when it came to how the tracks sound which does make thematical sense however some do feel pretty samey but it does have some stand out tunes such as 5AM 8AM 12PM 5PM 6PM. If you read this far then thanks. I'd be happy to talk about what you think or feel about the series as a whole and its soundtracks.

Unironically ACNH 3 am is one of my favorite tracks in the game. It is the most accurate depiction of my brain at 3 am.

The 3 AM music is one of my favourite hourly tracks in ACNH, it's just silly and puts a smile on my face
I love the more unique tracks like 3am, I never liked the others much since they were too boring too me.
Tbh, this just made me realize that I love all the music of the animal crossing franchise. Every hour has its unique approach and vibe to it. Though I might be blinded by nostalgia, but every hour of ww was an absolute banger to me and I still listen to it when drawing

What's so awful about the ACNH prologue music? It's so tear jerking and nostalgic, I practically cry every time I hear it...
It just drags on forever. You hear the clock go off and you’re getting ready for a new tune, only to hear the same. Repetitive. Song. At least, that’s why I can’t stand the prologue music

Ive re watched this video like 3 times in the past year and everytime i come back im closer to 18 realizing ill never be able to experiance any new game like animal crossing the same way i did back when i was 7 years old playing new leaf for the first time and wasting away all my hours of life, its fucking sad but amazing at the same time that such a beutiful game basicly raised me
OMG DUDE I totally agree with 4am about it not being scary and being hopeful sounding! I love 4am, along with 11pm and 12am (sort of sad to see them not get higher). But yeah glad someone out there agrees with 4am, because it is so underrated.
Towards the end of this video, I sat in my kitchen listening to the 5pm soundtrack from New Leaf. The ambient sound of the river water and the feet crunching against the grass alongside the music was so beautiful and relaxing. Now that New Leaf is 7 years old, it's almost nostalgic. 5pm New Leaf has been and always will be a beautiful piece of music and by far my favourite of all

new leaf 1am has a special place in my heart because its melancholy, yet calming melody really resonated with me whenever i would play the game at 1am, so much that i learned to play it on piano. to see it on top 5 warms my heart because it brings back those fond memories when all that mattered was checking on my new leaf town (which i have unfortunately abandoned due to disinterest)

7am new horizons is easily my favorite! When we had online school I would boot up my game when I had some spare time after getting ready. I absolutely love it and even when I dreaded the day ahead, it gave me optimism!!
I think that the New Horizons does fall short with some of its songs, but you have to admit it swings back with a couple of bangers.

Wild World is honestly amazing. It will forever be my favorite Animal Crossing game and soundtrack. Especially 6 PM.
I love the droning of the accordion in 6pm at 43 seconds, it really makes it feel like the day is passing by very fast and the night is upon you
Gamecube 5 PM will probably always be my favorite, partially due to the extreme nostalgia from my childhood but also that ~Bossa Bias~
As a kid, my bedtime was actually eight. My sisters and I all shared an Animal Crossing Wild World cartridge, and because of that, I'd know bedtime was almost upon me when I'd hear the eight pm music (as we liked to timeskip just a tad). To this day it's hands down my favorite Animal Crossing track of all time, followed shortly by New Leaf's seven pm theme. Just feels like a soothing lullaby.

This was a great video! I think that the best song is definitely 7pm or 1am New Leaf. Something about these two really bring me back to my first experiences being alone and playing AC. They are super melancholy and capture every feeling I had during this time where I was started to really grow up. The synth bass hits my soul and the accordion resurrects me.

Animal Crossing Gamecube, 1PM is the best in my opinion.
New Leaf’s 7PM is my favourite personally. I don’t know what it is about it but it just sticks in my head. It’s almost haunting and yet hopeful, as you said, and the first time I heard it, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. To this day, it stills gives me an Emotion. Idk what emotion but one of them. While so many of my other favourite soundtracks are upbeat and happy and fun, 7PM feels so different and I love it.

I’d mainly play animal crossing new leaf on weekends because I’d go to my grandparents house at the weekend while my mom worked and I’d stay there till Sunday night and when I was around 9 or 10 I would always listen to the 8pm music whilst crying wishing that my mom would come back sooner and I’d literally have to time travel an hour forward just to not hear it and start crying
New Horizons music isn't unique at all. 90% of it is the main theme remixed.

My favorite acnl sound is 6am.
4 AM is my favorite song in all of animal crossing and I cannot thank you enough for putting it so high. I remember one day just going "Huh I've never heard the late night songs in this game. I'm gonna time travel to head them" and when I got to 4 AM, I physically stopped and put the 3DS speaker up to my ear for serveal minutes. Never had done that with any other song in the series. I thought it was peaceful and beautiful.
I never knew about Aika Village before hearing this song for the first time, so I had no idea people assioated this song with fear and unnervingness, and even after going to Aika village myself, the song still doesn't have any creepy vibe for me. It's still that beautiful song I heard that one day from curiousity.
I love the ticking sound effect in that song, and how the song gets louder and quieter as it goes through it. It really gives a peaceful vibe for me, but also a sense of faint sadness. I would time travel just so I could play with this song playing. That childhood memory of accidentally discovering it fills me with so much nostalga.
This will forever be my favorite song in all of Animal Crossing. Its criminal how underrated it is.
I don’t know why, but I’ve always preferred the Wild World track over the City Folk one, even though they’re basically the same thing. Especially the 8pm track-something about the wild world one sounds so close to home for me idk how to explain it lol.
I've been playing a lot of Wild World for an upcoming video and yeah, despite the DS's limitations, I do like the sound direction better on a few tracks over Cityfolk. Specifically 2 AM with it's L/R fades that makes it feel like you're dreaming, which at 2 AM you probably are.
My favorite is NL's 1am. It just leaves me so relax and reduces my anxiety, which i tend to feel a lot lol

I'll give you credit for making a video such as this however I do feel some of the comments on certain tracks are a bit lacking as to why you dislike or like the track.
Honestly it gives me inspiration to make my own video on the soundtracks of various AC games so I'll give you that as well.
I feel overall if you are going to rank such a large selection of music I'd say you'd need to do it on a per game basis. Each game has its own unique quality to it which I feel helps bring out the best of each track, even the more underwhelming ones.
I will say I give your major major credit for actually saying that a lot of the NL music is lackluster. I feel a lot of people have such a strong attachment to that instalment they sometimes fail to realise that a lot of the tracks in that game are not "bad" but rather slow or not really fitting which how most of the music in the series sounds.
For me in terms of complete soundtracks compared to each other its GC > NH > WW/CF > NL
The Gamecube OST as a whole is such a complete package and I feel like making a whole video discussing each track in that game.
Wild World & City Folk have some of the most iconic and well know tracks in the series such as the Title Theme and Brewsters Roost.
New Leaf has some of the most tranquil music I've ever heard but I wish it was more energetic with a lot of it hourly themes.
New Horizons to me feels like a step in the right direction however I do feel like they played a lot more of the "tropical" side when it came to how the tracks sound which does make thematical sense however some do feel pretty samey but it does have some stand out tunes such as 5AM 8AM 12PM 5PM 6PM.
