    I got an offer of $2.41 for a 1.1 mile order I took it. Cause I knew there was a bad tip in it. I told the person through a text thanks for your order, but you need it more than me. Then snapped photo and was right a .16 cent tip. I left a dime, nickel, and a penny on top of the bag. I hope they got the message. Don’t do this, I’d rather have zero. Don’t slap me in the face.

      It doesn't f matter at all! And your test should of proved that to you! In the end the only thing that maters is profit. They could care fucking less if you a a zero percent acceptance rate. If your the right person at the right time in the right position to make them money and you think 13 dollars for ten miles is profitable than they will send it to you and you'll take it. It wont be till a couple of years down the road you realize how just unprofitable doing this is. In the end you actually end up and pay to work, more than you make.

    • @michaelbell75
      @michaelbell75 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is not true at all. It's been tested multiple times. Top Dashers will see high pay orders those who are not TD will never see. You will never, ever see a catering order with a $40 tip and orders similar if you are not a TD, even if you are sitting in the parking lot of that restaurant. It will go to a TD, even if they are 5 miles away.

    • @rachmunshine9474
      @rachmunshine9474 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelbell75 I don’t think he was talking about catering in large order program, but just every day dashing. Not everyone can even afford to do literal charity deliveries, and lose money on gas and you mentioned potentially make more down the line. I mean I could do it for an order or two if I wanted to, but I could never do it for 50 orders. And I find the same thing that this gentleman found in his video or in his research I should say. I get plenty of crap orders which is why my acceptance rate is 19% right now and fluctuates from 12 tour, 20…22 tops, I would say.
      But I also had an 18+ dollar tip of the most of it was hidden until after I dropped it off. And it was literally a mile from the restaurant. Which are both around the corner from my house, which I was starting out it was my first order of the evening. A lot of Dashers would’ve unassigned due to not the longest I’ve ever waited there, but like a 10 minute way beyond what was expected at the restaurant. If it’s decent enough for me especially going on nearby and I’ve already put the time in that I have I don’t see the point in canceling. Especially since the next 5 or 10 orders could be crap.
      When your part time it takes a lot longer to raise your acceptance rate your cancellation rate even more so I’ve been sitting at 98 for a while although I did have my first cancellation in forever recently after I went back up to 98 and I went down to 97 but a couple hours later I was back up to 98. I know two out of three or so of the cancellations I’ve had were double stacks. So I will be there at 99. If I hadn’t canceled we’re not that long ago. But I know any day I should be back to 100. I think there’s some algorithm we will never understand but I think once you accept it, actually following through is definitely probably one of the things they consider beyond if they’re wasting a minute, letting you decide if you want the order even if you don’t accept but one in five at best.
      And again, like all of you also have said it really depends on your market. I’m on the edge of my zone so I could have to go very far for the 275 base pay here. (for the first order in a stack if the other consecutive ones are added after you’ve accepted the first. The subsequent ones are two dollars. But if you get them at the same time, they’re each two dollars.)

  • @daemonheart1553
    @daemonheart1553 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Can confirm its the same thing in Pennsylvania. I went from 80 acceptance rate down to 30 due to (10mile +) orders all under 5 dollars. Yes, there were that many of them. Why people order from restaurants super far away is beyond me and then half the time dont even tip so their order sits an hour plus so doordash forks over money. I went to resturants and seen many orders with the same name on thrm because they had to remake the food for being cold. Doordash is probably losing so much money because of it

I'll never go back to a high AR. I have seen gigtuber after gigtuber preach about a high AR. I am the type of person that picks things apart until i find whatvworks and what doesn't. Constantly changing little things and tracking what is happening. I can say without a doubt, 100% i lost money with a high AR. Your experience may be different. To maintain it and take the trash....i lose more than i make by not take the trash. Do i see a lot of orders? Yes i do and decline a lot. The trick that i have found is stat in the red zone if you venture out of it by the least little bit, the orders are few and far between. Where i live there are chain restaurants on about every corner, which may be why it works for me to decline the garbage as much as i do. I use Maxymo and DUH. I set my filters to minimum $7 and 1.20 a mile. Per mile changes as gas cost goes up and down. Anything less than those numbers it isnt on my screen long enough to see what it is.

    In my market in garner North Carolina the pilot tier program is the best thing to ever happen since it debuted in July I make about $150 bucks for 5 hours of driving on weekdays and $500 for the weekends. I prepared myself ahead of time and got myself a catering bag waiting for this tier pilot program and it paid off I get $20-$40 dollar catering orders that are about 5-10 miles and if they are hidden tips on top it will change your day. I had a catering order on Monday for $50+ going 10 miles and when I was done that order turned out to be 75 bucks for seafood and that was my first order for the day next order was a catering order for sushi paying 40 bucks for 6 miles when done that was 65 bucks all in 1hr. Only time I see bad orders are after 1am and that’s when I call it. So it all depends what market you’re in and if your in a pilot tier program or not.

And was rarely more than a dollar or 2 more. Now it’ll say the amount and then in parentheses guaranteed including tips. They still go up just as often as they don’t. Maybe more often. Again, not always by a ton of money. But I did have one girl from 725 going 1 mile and it went up to $20 and some change. And I was probably around 15% then.

    I went from 89% to 79% this week. Started being a little more picky but I take most decent orders. Just decided I'm not doing anything for less than $5 with gas at $6 a gallon. I avoid certain places where I have past issues and shopping orders with too many items or stores I'm not familiar with. I had one of my best earning weeks ever on DD accepting less orders. I do occasionally get very good tips because I dash in a wealthy area. I have had a $17.50 a $15 tip this week. I have also had to wait 20 minutes for food a few times this week. The good comes with the bad. I am currently considered a "top dasher" with my stats, just do this part time for extra money.

    There is a huge difference here between the two acceptance rates... but there are a LOT of dashers here to compete with, and I think that plays into that. even at 70 we were lucky to break 80 dollars after working all day (we don't have large orders yet.). at 90% we make that amount in half that time.

    If I have one piece of advice for delivery drivers: never drive your own car. Rent a car and drive enough to make the payment, pay with a credit card that has rental insurance. You get a free car with your time, but don't have to worry about maintenance or depreciation. If the car breaks, you get a new car immediately. If your car breaks, your whole life is screwed.
    With a rental car, you can accept good $15+ deliveries that are far away, or will take you out of zone, and never worry about the mileage equation.

    My number one piece of advice is ignore hot spots, because all that does is put you where the other drivers are. What I do is park in between the PF Changs, Red Robin, a local joint and the CVS. The restaurants have the most catering orders for the large order program (Chick-fil-A is too far away from any other restaurants that cater on DD) which pay the most, and sometimes you will get CVS pharmacy orders that have 30 deliveries in one offer and each deliver pays $15 a pop. So you drive a few blocks, collect a signature and then get paid $15. Drive a couple blocks to the next house and repeat. You can deliver all 30 packages in a matter of 3 hours and get paid $450 for it. I get a $100-$300 order every 200 orders on average with a 5% acceptance rate.

I do like to be able to dash whenever so that’s why I now try and make sure to do the 13 shop and pay orders each week to keep being able to dash whenever. I live in Orlando Florida so I also think we are just flooded with drivers. And that one order I bet wasn’t even a 99 cent tip being it was over a 6 mile trip I bet it was a 49 or 24 cent tip. I did a shop and pay order a couple weeks ago and it was a good paying order but the tip was only 10 cent, I mean seriously just keep your money these kind of tips are more insulting then no tip in my opinion.

Door Dash scores a 3% rating on providing quality offers to their dashers. So don't worry about this fear tactic rating. Are they paying your gas? Are they paying your auto repairs? No so don't worry about taking crap offers that cause you to average less than 11 dollars per hour after paying your gas fees. If a offer does not pay you an average of 1.75 per mile and causes you to go outside your hot spot zone don't take the offer. Someone who accepts a 20 dollar offer and travels 17 miles is foolish because once you complete the task now you have to drive back about 12 miles just to be within 5 miles from the hot zone again. So your actually going 29 miles for 20 dollars which is way less then 1 dollar per mile. Don't let Door Dash or Uber Eats control what is your best interest. Be firm on only accepting quality orders that make you an average of 20 per hour

      Yeah I automatically double the mileage when considering the offer unless it’s literally a few miles or less within my area that I like to stay in. Hotspots - unless you’re not in a saturated market - don’t even mean anything to me, except there’s too many Dashers around there. 😂But if you mean like just a good zone in general, yeah. They used to say “looking for an order heading back to your zone” - but now if the zone you’re in after delivery is full up on Dasher, they don’t even do that. They just say “navigate back to your zone “ or sometimes give you the choice to switch to the zone you’re in now. It’s kind of all over the place. That’s why I just take orders that work for me.

      All AR is is a manipulative fear tactic; you are correct. I have learned when you are approaching dropping out of 70 or 50%, the app will bombard you with terrible orders. This is clearly because the app wants you to be afraid of dropping below these thresholds.

    Acceptance rate doesn’t matter. I make more by cherry picking and I get to relax more rather than accepting more orders.

    What % of your time the last 10 days were doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Im curious for breakfast if you get more orders with higher AR? In my market about 930AM the last few weekends a note saying many dashers out and expect delays on incoming orders has hit, and with my low AR I see very few orders at that time. I'm thinking higher AR would at least show me more orders at times like this. If majority of your time was doing dashing breakfast time, I'm not sure that is a true representation of what you would see during a busy dinner time or Sunday shift mid-late day.

      your 100% right about the restaurant that your closest too but also doordash tracks your profile and sends you orders based off of where you accepted your last orders

    I thought a high acceptance mattered so I tried to hover around 70-80 I met a guy yesterday had a 30% acceptance and he was taking in 1200-1400 dollars a week and I get shitty orders all day. Time to switch it up.

      I’m still getting the same orders this month compared to last month and I’m not a top dasher anymore with 37% AR currently

      I am going to have to try it I've been having some success with the hourly in my area cause big tips are far and few but 2-3 dollar tips plus a 30 minute drive make most orders 10$+@@DoorDashJosh

    It just seems like if you actually take 100% the offers get worse because you've cultivated that environment. It's a social experiment to see how low they can pay or how much your effort is worth.
