Actually on older equipment with one side of de loop in use, one direction running, filtration is pretty common on the return side since there are quick couplings in the system. Like vibro machinery.
Just as long as you size the charge pump big enough to overcome the oil leaked from inefficiencies in the pump and motor and the flow robbed from the main loop through the hot oil shuttle. If you don't size the charge pump big enough to maintain proper charge pump pressure under all circumstances you risk tearing up the rotating group of the pump.
Please What could be the issue when a shuttle valve pressure fluctuate between 200psi and 500 psi, for your information charge pump was adjusted 400psi and shuttle valve was adjusted 350psi, also I had replaced shuttle valve but still the same problem, I have doubt maybe one of 4 hydraulic motors failed, what do you think?
