    You didn't fancy digging 'em out?! Or was that customer wishes to cut at ground level?

      @@LewisgardenservicesLtd Anyone can cut a tree to ground level with a chainsaw - not really much skill in my eyes - chain brake and pull a trigger. What about actually making so that something new can be planted or built on the area? That's the skill/effort!!! Thumbs down.

      If everyone could do it I'd be out of a job I guess, happy to hear your thoughts tho. Why would I dig them out if the customer didn't want them out and how is digging stumps out more skilled than safety using a chainsaw? I'd say far less skill swinging a mattock at stumps for a few hours, I've done and do do both so know exactly what's skill, what's effort and what's wasted time doing something I'm not asked to do. Cheers for the thumbs down tho

    Great video Nathan. I am going to steal your technique. Take all the rubbish off whilst the conifer is still standing, then cut into logs as you go. You made it look very simple.
    I am going to ask what everyone wants to know but daren’t mention! What sort of price should one charge for a job like that with waste away, leaving the stumps in the ground. Obviously a rough guide.
    All the best.

      Cheers, often tackle them in different ways but this worked well for this one. This was £260 and although only a few hrs in total it was one and a bit loads away and my van is not the smallest. Hope that helps 👍

    • @carl8035
      @carl8035 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was watching wondering how much i would charge and i was at around £250. I have the chipper so waste would have been ran through that then tipped at my local allotment for free and wood to my brother who has a long burner.

    • @LewisgardenservicesLtd
      @LewisgardenservicesLtd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@carl8035 I guess just everyone would have a different price but this seemed fair for the amount of waste, I have seen similar jobs done where a skip gets brought in and that must add a load on. I think efficiently getting it done and waste away is the key. Thanks for watching 👍

    To echo some of the other comments shame to see it go. I love nature being a gardener as I'm sure you do too but work is work eh. Good on ya checking for birdies. I don't mind getting rid when plants are dead obviously or past their best but I always try to preserve where I can. But this is the difference between work vs pleasure. Customer wishes and all that. Money in the bank

      Cheers 👍 just the fella wanted it gone for ongoing maintenance reasons, he was a great chap and I wouldn't want to see him do it. I gave that hedge a 20min check for nests... definitely nothing there

      Cheers, fella well into his late 80s bought a chainsaw to drop it, we work for his son and he got us in due to the amount of waste. Nice hedge just on the go list for maintenance reasons. We did tell the gent we'd tell no one we took it out and he could take all the credit 😅
