That video of the red TukTuk being delivered was my gift to my wife's rather large family. They live in a small farming village. That video clip was last November. Chuck's Father-in-law delivered it, and took time to show the family all the details of how to drive and maintain it. They use it to take the kids to school, haul bags of feed to the cows, ride it into Phi Mai (20 minutes on major highway) for supplies , ,etc. .... and they LOVE it. A terrific reliable and versatile machine. CHEERS
Hi Chuck Your father in law is a wonderful gentleman, you’ve said before that he hasn’t been selling many tuk tuks but keeps buying engines and keeps building , I think he’s being very loyal and supporting his employees which is very commendable, well done to him and I hope this video gets him some more orders/sales , thanks for sharing Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
You can see the quality of the finish even on the subframes & chassis. He’s a proud man and it’s nice that you are trying to help promote some sales like this.
3 wheeled vehicles have always fascinated me, I collect diecast vehicles and I have a handfull of tuk tuks at various scales. I just bought 2 Majorette ones, that are pretty rare, so I was just looking them up on youtube, to see if they had any moving parts, as moving parts on diecast is something I go out of my way to pickup. I just clicked on your video, as I thought it looked interesting, indeed it was, I know far more about them now. I live in the UK, but who know, maybe one days I will buy one, as owning one would appeal to me.
Sounds like a good alternative to people who don’t feel safe riding a scooter or motorcycle in Thailand. Also would be nice for hauling stuff and could make a camper for a road trip.
Hey Chuck, great video, I now kick myself in not getting a Tuk-tuk when I bought my motorcycle. It would have been a much better way to go. I've got 205,000 baht invested in the bick and the sidecar. For that kind of money, I could have gotten one of the bigger ones. It would have been a lot more stable on the road. I have found that when riding my bike and the wheel on the sidecar hits a bump it pulls to the left. I understand the physics of what is going on, but I would really like to do something that would solve the problem. Probably just learn to live with it.
Good to see you always Chuck and Paige 👍you can ship to other countries and use it inside private land. ...may be. And not be able to register and drive on public roads. Which i would do ...tuk tuks are fun...and represents Thailand culture.
Awesome video that I have been waiting for. Thanks! Would your FIL let you do in in depth one from from start to finish for marketing and interest, or would it reveal too many trade secrets that others might try to copy? I personally loved seeing the inside of his shop which showed how orderly the process was. Very cool and very Thai.
Pa Red ,I'd love to own one of your Tuk Tuk's here in the UK . I'm convinced i'd make a fortune running the young ones from one pub to the next even though it's only 500 yards 😁Taxi rank guys might be knocking on my door though 🙄You Can't knock him chuck ,It's his passion ❤..But i have agreed with you in the past on your thought's .I'd love to sit down with him and be able to speak fluent Thai .The stories he could tell
Very nice helping your Father-in-law in Thailand in TH-cam....if anything I would believe many foreigners (living in Thailand) with loved Thai will buy a Tuk-Tuk. It makes sense as a farming vehicle and the the value of doing it for everything you need in Thailand means you have a 'care-free' or very easy vehicle to use for years.
Hi Chuck! has been amazing to find your video about how to get a TukTuk in Thailand. We have been there last week and felt in love with this vehicle. So much so that we have decided to import some of them as a funny trasport for our clients in Spain. We have few questions, 1. have your father in law stock of tuktuk, i mean already finished. 2. how long does it take to make one? 3. About shiping costs, you have any idea? Thank you in advance for your help!! Daniel&Cristina
As a businessman and someone that has spent time in the kingdom being successful and having longevity in Thailand as a businessman takes incredible amount of work and clairvoyance. extrasensory perception & and knowing who to trust. Not everyone any Where has the will and Representation. As they say if it was easy everyone would do it.
In Phuket they have an extra wheel lol, maybe because of the hills. They’re based on small vans, maybe Suzuki or Daihatsu? With their backs opened out and bench seating facing forwards and backwards, or facing sideways. I think they’re genius and should be used all over the world.
I definitely want to buy when I get to Phuket in couple of months. Can he put nice seats instead of the benches,? I want it for friends & family use & going to play golf, Funny you said that He can ship to phuket & put nice seats?
I like it better than the Salang side cart that costs about $1,000 if you already have a scooter, but with a scooter, it would be about the same price. I like the tuk tuk better because of the bigger cc motorcycle and it is better on the highway. Good for older expats who needs a trike like vehicle to get around town for shopping and short highway trips to nearby towns.
Also this Tuk Tuk doesn't have a bigger motorcycle engine because it is a 3 cylinder Daihatsu. And has 5 speed with reverse unlike the motorcycle version of the Tuk Tuk.
He can make the rear custom to your needs. Best thing to do is to call him on the number in the description box and tell him what your needs are and go from there.
Hey Chuck , what are the engines from in those tuk tuk? one looked like a 3 cylinder? petrol, and gas, any diesel? I'm surprised no one has asked if air conditioned yet lol
Planning to move to Thailand , Krabi soon. Interested in small tuk tuk for 95,000 baht. Could you please tell me more specs of the engine, what kind of license do you need and how much is insurance cost for this tuk tuk. Thank you

Hi Chuck 🙂 Thanks for this interesting video. My wife and I would like to buy one of these tuk tuks to travel around Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Can you tell me if that would be possible? Can we legally cross the border with a Thai Tuk Tuk? Thanks in advance. Greetings Anton
I bought a TUK TUK from Nakhon Phanom lm very happy with it l love it l love in sakaeo and ride to Koh Chang for a month every year going down the hills with friends l had problem braking l need disc brakes can l get disc brakes sent to sakaeo my base please and l see they sell front disc brake in Bangkok do you have it too?
My father-in-law's not set up for shipping parts. Your best bet is to load it up on a trailer and bring it here and let him change it for you I don't think the cost of doing that would be very much. But you can contact him for that price
@@notime2bsad shame, maybe a market for this with climate change and sustainability regs etc. In BK battery ones are 300k. I will just get one of these smaller ones as its cheaper than my bicycles lol My wife asked for scooter to go to market and take kids and I said no too dangerous to have two young kids on scooter no helmets. What license covers these for driving?
can you get one just for two people for personal use? I do not want a mop head. But I have seen these smaller. It would be great for me to go shopping in Thailand and run errands. What would be the cost with rain cover? Thank you
That would be pretty cool. I live in a rather large mobile home community in Florida. Not the Villages. I'd rather ride around the park in one of those instead of a golf cart. Thanks for the video.
registered as farm vehicle so need car license or bike? also in the case of a saleng, if the bike is never detached, is a bike license still needed?.... am guessing that since bike has to be registered, bike license needed no matter if bike attached to saleng permanently?

Good Morning, very interesting video
Thank you Chuck! Is it difficult (and/or extraordinarily expensive) to get these registered for use on local roads?
I’m going to buy one for running around in the local village for personal use only.
Amazing industrial health and safety compliance in there 😀
Up to you...Is Much better. Or Tuk Tuk would be $20k after Gov. Control and regulations...

Tuk tuks look really cool .
Informative video Chuck. Next generation will be Electric Tuk Tuk's with a solar panel on the roof?
What type of engine are they using?
Nice thanks for info I'd like to start with the cheap one to one
Question can we have it custom made with AC (air condition) and have the motor hybrid (bio gas and gasoline) ? Thx
Nice. Was wondering if you were ever going to go over the tuk-tuk business. 👍
I would dare say your father in law is a pretty sharp guy. 👏
