@@j.gtheautotech8455 right(a.k.a. closest to the 2 8-pin connectors) is performance, left is cool n quiet. I recommend performance with a custom fan curve. For anyone still having system reboots it is your PSU I 100% guarantee it, there are no more driver issues!
If you are getting random reboots, bsod, or frequent crashes with a solid gpu/psu, check your ram. If you are running overclocked ram, even from the factory, there is a good chance the gpu is unstable due to unstable ram oc. Just reduce the ram speed until you no longer have issues.
Performance is usually too similar too matter, main focus should be temperatures and acoustics, buy whichever performs ok in those regards. Have a good week!
This tiny 251mm2 chip has so much power. Just imagine the power if they release a 500mm2 or bigger Navi gpu on 7nm+ node. It would totally destroy 2080ti.
Just the software is terrible. Often black screens and couldnt play longer than 30 mins. Had to send the card back :( At least AMD have recognized this problem in the release notes now
The smaller the node the harder to get high yield with big die size. Nvidia probably stayed on 12nm because a gpu as strong as 2080ti or so on 7nm would have costed them a lot more to make.
there is a bois switch on the thick III and i think he had it set to quiet in his benches as he coudnt reach max boost 195w in quiet 230w in power thats a fair diffrence
The design is great although it’s big. I have recently bought one of these and with a click of the software that gets installed with the driver it overclocked to 2240 MHz GPU easy.
prople whining about three or four fps difference to other cards, id take the thermals and acoustics over a few fps this card runs very quiet and much cooler than my previous 1070, no driver probs love it, as a bonus looks great too, only negative is i had to buy gpu bracket as this thing is huge 🙂, bios switch if you prefer power saving and acoustics over performance, 3 year warranty no complaints at all,

Hey it’s me from the future and I can confirm this card is a beast! Not only does it run at a max of 77*C inside an itx case but I’ve seen it boost to 2050 MHz for a decent amount of time. I’m very impressed with this card and xfx for keeping thermals under control even at max load. My rx 580 was getting real toasty at a max of 87*C! If you need a 5700xt card be sure to pick one of these up! These are stock speeds btw

had this card for 2 years now and I've had almost no problems with it but rather Radeon software itself so its a good card but Nvidia software beats it every time.
im torn between a 5700xt and a 2070 super... the only reason is im hearing the drivers on the AMD side suck big time... having huge problems crashing or not starting at all with various games.. what's the issue? anyone with a 5700xt with current experience to share?
I just got this card, it's amazing, love that giant grill on it. I have never seen my card go above 80C, but I did play with the fan curves, I don't mind noise at all so I have it running at 80% at 75c. Now it stays around 70C most of the time. Good job on xfx for fixing a mistake, and more importantly, putting out quality. I have a feeling this card will last for awhile.
Your review, was great. I now own the Thicc III and so far I have had no issues. I'm so happy I got a nice card now! Such a classy looking Card. Looks like it has an old chevy pickup grill.

I'm getting one of these tomorrow. I know that we are currently at the beginning of the next gen GPUs. Realistically I wont be able to get any of these cards for a LONG while because they'll just keep getting sold out as soon as they pop up on the internet. I am looking forward to this card.

But Nvidia has always had the advantage of stability and solid drivers to back their GPUs up. I heard the new drivers are better. Idk if you updated yet.
why is nobody mentioning that the THICC III was beat by the other 5700XT's INCLUDING the THICC II in most of the benchmarks!? Even the reviewer didn't bring that up. I'll give credit that he showed the benchmarks for everyone, but he's also supposed to analyze those results in detail, not just talk about one thing and ignore the rest. He only talked about how it has an edge with the cooling, which comes across rather suspiciously.
Actually still one of the best cards on market, Thicc III Ultra. Faster and cheaper then a 1080ti. BTW the 5700xt has one of the lowest Powerconsomption...
If you dont give your new gpu a nice tap on the backplate before installing...you aint a gamer...thats something ive always been doing when i bought a new gpu haha😂

There's more than those two differences. The ram and GPU cooling from the heatsink has been changed to copper base which improves cooling a lot.

How did you tune yours? Because if I let it on auto on adrenaline it goes over 3500 rpm, i have to manually change stuff for it to do less noise

You probably have a faulty card.. Using the performance bios on the card and having fans running Just under 60% speed at full load it stays under 80c.

Because it’s way more efficient, if you set a custom overlock on it and run it at max it will match/beat the 2
