Yep, I played it on Xemu. It was fun and looks better than the PS2 version, which is what most 3rd party multiplatform titles failed to do: make use of each and every console

Nowadays, even if one console is more powerful than the other, it'll get the same version as the other, which is why the modern spec debates between PS and Xbox are so silly; both get essentially identical versions.
I remember liking this game when I first played it, but I then played Street years later and realised how awful it was. By the way, Street 3 was very underrated I think, the variety of game types was fun.
Street 3 was a perfect precursor to this. Its definitely the worst of the 3 street games. Ive played them all on all consoles and psp low key it sucked. Soundtrack too. Which late i did appreciate but why they had to restart the song Everytime you paused it is beyond me oh yeah they just didn't care

Ik it’s cliche, but literally update the rosters of nfl street 2, update the graphics, add more clothes and celebrations, and leave everything else as is. The game was perfect

What about the unreleased ‘NFL Pour’? That was the game they were developing where you play as various NFL players pouring out various liquids and solids. Aaron Rodgers Pour rating was a 98 and his Salt Pour was off the charts.
I remember the devs doing an interview in EGM and the involvement of the NFL is definitely a true thing; they talked about how league reps had to not just approve everything, but it was their idea of the premise that the "Tour" was a sanctioned league event, because they didn't like the "ghetto" connotations of pickup football and stylized tackles in Street (it's also why the players only wear their jerseys in Street 3, that was the NFL's call too) It was just a tough time when the Ginger Hammer was trying to basically make the league image different from the mid-00s of the Ochocincos, etc.
I played NFL Tour (Demo Version) and I have to be honest. I don't remember a thing from the game. That being said it isn't a complete disaster. Though it could have been executed much better.
Isn’t part of the reason the nfl street games got nerfed and then killed because the NFL was cracking down on the game being so arcade like with the violence - even in regular madden for example, they made the game change it so there was no more in game injuries being head related
I owned this game when it came out, and I still have incredible memories playing this while Superstar with Lupe Fiasco repeated on the soundtrack. This is nowhere near the worst football game ever I’d play it’s gameplay 100 times out of 100 before playing Madden 23

Ever considered doing a Madden 15 retrospective? I saw gameplay on my feed earlier and couldn’t help but wonder what Madden could be today with current graphics worked into the Ignite engine with the supposed “hundreds” of catching, tackling, and throwing animations.
If anyone wants to play a football game in a smaller field and with walls, Arena Football: Road To Glory of PS2 is the best option. It's a mini Madden (use the same engine of PS2 Maddens) with the Arena Football League license, but works great in PCSX2. And while is not a perfect game by any means (no career mode, just season mode), with the right sliders you can have a ton of fun. Also, i like the idea of unlocking past AFL teams and using the af2 ones. About NFL Tour i remember seeing pictures but i absolutely forgot about the existence of that game. I understand why this game is forgotten.
I really hate how stiff and “serious” sports games have become. A lot of media has become that way, actually. There’s no more experimentation and too much corporate control.
Ironically, me and my cousin loved nfl street 2 so much, we got nfl tour since we both had the new gen consoles. We would play it for hours but sadly we knew it wasn’t the same

Insane how they had more technology to work with and could have made NFL Street 2's depth into something amazing. Creators in that era had so much more heart and care, the whole idea of Own the City was so creative. You got cutscenes, minigames, great music, team customizing, outfits/jewelry, humor, no commentary needed. The jump from Street 1 to 2 is real progression. I would love to know at what pinpoint they stopped giving a fuck with these games. How could they advertise this game with how little it had to offer? They made something enough to have a commercial out of and were done. Meanwhile I'm sure Street 2 was undermarketed and is legendary

You say that, because punting and kicking aren't present, the "foot" part of football is missing. Etymologically, this is untrue. Though Association Football (aka, soccer in the States) fans accuse American Football of not utilizing the feet via kicking, the name for these games in *both* major branches of football "codes" stems not from the fact that one moves the ball with their feet, but rather because the game itself is played *on foot.* Hence, even without kicking or punting, this can rightly be called "football," because the name of the game simply indicates that it is played on foot. As to why other games, then, like basketball and baseball don't follow this same etymology despite being played on foot, I'm not entirely certain, but I *think* it's because they don't really fall under the parameters of the two major branches of football code, Rugby Football and Association Football.

It's not the worst, it's definitely the most bland and the worst of the NFL Street series, and the worst Arcade Football game that I can think of. As for the worst? Pro Quarterback (SNES/Genesis), NFL '97 (Saturn), Jimmy Johnson's VR Football 98' (PS1), NFL Full Contact (PS1) and NFL Quarterback Club 2001 (N64/Dreamcast) Are good contenders for god awful

The one EA game that I was very interested was 3ds version of Only nfl game you could set how many down and how many players you want and set up your own play-off set up ( first 3ds that was made) but I forgot what was the name of it was if I could find my 3ds I would totally play that over any modern madden I think my 3ds is in a box in basement somewhere. After playing the barren, broken wasteland of Madden 19-20, I'd probably think it's alright too. 🤣😂 Newer Maddens are trash too, but at least there is an illusion of content to keep you busy for like 5 hours.

At that time we had 3 NFL streets, 3 NBA streets, like 5 or 6 SSX games, a couple FIFA street games, among other alternative sports games. Because of the saturation I think we were all tired of them. You can only run with a gimmick for so long.
NFL Street and Tour are like the Fortnite of football gaming - shallow, cartoony, and fairly brainless. Never understood why anyone above the age of 12 would want to play them, but hey, to each their own.
Now NBA street Homecourt is bad but I actually still have fun with the that game the core things of what make street fun are in the game it’s just unpolished plus it was my first street game.
I totally get EA getting lazy & complacent after getting the NFL license in 2004, but how do you manage to make your games WORSE than the ps2 era of games?
