I used to watch this just about every day, but I got to do one thing that I never thought I'd ever be able to do, that was to be their door chauffeur at Horse Inn restaurant off of Roscoe Blvd. I was so happy to see them. I was just a kid maybe 10 years old.
Watched this show as a pre-teen, one of the few shows that actually held my interest, Sea Hunt was the other. Joined the Navy after graduating from college and pinned on my Naval Aviator wings in 1973, retired after 20 years. Can't remember a bad day flying!
This was the only show my mom would let me watch while eating lunch in front of the TV. She knew I wouldn't sit at the table to eat when 'Sky King' was broadcast on Saturday at high noon back in my hometown.
@@glenwoodriverresidentsgrou136 Um Hummm. Me too only where I lived in SoCal it was Saturday mornings. Fig Newtons, Lorna Doons and later, Chips Ahoy. Yeah, good ol days.
Hi Gary, thanks for joining us here. Most of the viewers here are from our generation. We all grew up with Sky King and if you read the comments, the show influenced many people for a long time. I appreciate your contribution!
@@garyhunley3699 im just discovering the world of general aviation as a almost 70 years old. That led me here never seen these treasures.Thank you so much Gary it is beyond words how cool it is to have you on this.Merry Christmas young man.!
I have been trying to find where to watch Sky King for a long time. I use to watch Sky King then The Lone Ranger then Roy Rogers every Saturday morning when i was a young boy.
I like the part where the two thieves bragging about how smart they were to put a tarp over it and they wait till the sky King flies over with a plane and then they stand there and pull the tarp up so you can see the front end of the truck and talking about how smart they are while sky King flies right over them two thieves got box of rocks for brains!!!!!
I can't believe they let those two idiots roam around unsupervised. Always making bad moves. Times were different and easier to explain to the youngsters. Okay, I enjoyed the show too back then.
when I was approximately 7 years old I enjoyed watching Skyking on Saturday. I am 72 years old now and I still enjoy each episode.
I’m 73 and I watched as well. Just came across this now. I’ll probably watch a few episodes. Brings back some found memories of simpler times. 😊
I am almost 72, we watched it, too. One of my favorites! They are still great!
I am 73. Growing up I never missed Sky King. I learned it was filmed in Apple Valley Ca. That is where I live now.

I’m 69. Those were the days. Good honest entertainment. America has lost its home style appeal.
I miss the old projectors doing weird things like 18:00 sound and 20:00 frames wandering. Digital just isn't the same.
COMBAT - great TV show!
Starring Vic Morrow
From the 60s
Thats semi valley all houses now
I think all the boys had a crush on Penny.
and Sky here in San Francisco...
“Writing fan letters to Sky King’s Penny….” Jimmy Buffett
Out of the Blue, the book, by Tim Trott
yeah Sky sees us from 30,000 feet/ hahhahahahaha
I was going through puberty at the time and Penny was hot... only reason I watched it!
