Friend had similar in his car coolant system. Seemingly it was due to some Gel being added by a previous owner to stop a leak Looks exactly the same it kept blocking his car heater radiator. Looks like you will need to drop engine again and clean out front cylinder and radiator as well including water pump. Good luck it's a shame after all your sterling work
Yeah guess there was some issue, all them quick fix products are useless. More hassle then they are worth. Even the tire ones, they start eating the rubber from the inside after a while. I am awaiting rings at the moment, 2 months from Honda before I take this any further. But yeah flushing it will be tricky, I ordered all new gaskets for the coolant system as once I strip it, they won’t keep seal on reassembly. Problem with dropping the engine is the angle at which it goes in, it’s not a straight lift. So hopping the frame over it is an easier job. That why most people lie the bike down. They joy of having a hobby
@@Yoke. im just at finishing stage of winter project Bros that had been off road for 10 years. Front cylinder was full of water. Got second hand barrel and piston from e bay First engine start last week and running sweet Just got to paint tank and its done That's the reason i came across your channel Great work ive enjoyed watching it
Frame is easy to fit over engine rather than fitting engine into frame I soaked carb rubbers in solition of 25% wintergreen oil and 75% rubbing alcohol for 48 hours and they came out like new which made fitting carbs and airbox much easier
@@murrayreynolds2652 oh wow that a big job so. It’s actually quite rare to see a bros these days. Considering almost everyone had one at one stage. Great to see them getting fixed up. My rings got shipped today so I will be back assembling it by the weekend.
What a strange blockage. It doesn't look like rust or oil; some coolant or coolant additive that didn't play well with aluminium (or incompatible coolant mixture), cooking the head and ultimately damaging rings and valves?
Yeah your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea what happened here, it’s only in the engine and it’s caked solid, no gap for any significant cooling, consistency is odd too. The rad and pipes are clean, but they were new anyway. I need to get new rings as a starting point and I will measure everything up and take it from there.
@@motorbikesandhacks you are right, I just watched that video that’s defiantly what I found in the cylinder. The little balls that I found with this sludge are still a mystery. That’s what I get for buying an engine and taking someone’s word that it’s good. Hopefully I can flush this out without having to take the front cylinder out too as the compression there is very good. Rad and pipes are clean and don’t have this issue so it’s definitely a problem I purchased.
@@motorbikesandhacks yeah very possible, I am gonna take the pump, cooling pipes etc. off the bike and see if I have issues anywhere else. See if I can flush this out.

Pray bar on 05:00 , other wise you are going to make damage to rachet.
Yeah absolutely, I have a nice selection here too but that’s just me being lazy, I think this was 2am. I am not firing on all cylinders at that hour 😀
I have a NT650V Deauville 2001, there is a possibility to have the same carburator, mine has a Keihin CV type 36.5mm. Thanks for the help.
So this is a 400cc bros so the carb is same brand, looks identical looking but smaller.
