As a young kid who believed in kayfabe, I hated Chavo.
Years later, when I got back into wrestling, my respect for Chavo shot through the roof after Dark Side Of The Ring because I loved Chris Benoit as a kid. David Benoit's heartbreaking answer to who helped him (only Chavo and Jericho) after the tragedy sealed it for me.

  • @davecoronado8179

COMPLETELY agree with Chavo's view on never allowing the fans to see the "string". I catch myself yelling at the TV sometimes saying "Lay that shit in, quit exposing the business." Even though i know its a working punch i want to get lost in the match, forgetting its predetermined.
Another thing i dislike about todays pro wrestling is that they make themselves too accessible. All over social media talking their personal lives. I understand they are human but is it that hard to make 2 profiles, one personal, one business. Man i miss Kayfabe. The Mystic is gone.

Kinda disagree and agree; I disagree because ultimately at the end of the day fans would end up thinking that the wrestlers are their character(the more realistic characters) which will just cause problems, but I agree that they're too accessible because I be wanting to follow wrestlers and they really sometimes need to just...stop posting about extremely personal stuff.

Benoits case still hits us different. I grew up watching Chris Benoit and his career is hard to ignore and erase. Regardless of what the fans say online, he will never be in the Hall of Fame but we can't forget what he did in pro wrestling industry. Everytime I see someone do a crossface or a flying headbutt, I will always think of Benoit.

    • @eyesofthefox

I've been watching old Nitro episodes and man, it hurts my heart a little every time one of Benoit's matches come up. I don't hate him, I just feel sad that the world was and still to some extent is such a place that still lets people down today that suffer from mental health issues.

@@TheDropkick I remember seeing Triple H use the crossface at WrestleMania 24, that was the first time to my knowledge that the move was used after the Benoit tragedy and it really hit me on another level. Then they gave Daniel Bryan a variation of the crossface and even the bloody diving headbutt (which definitely contributed to his broken neck), it's pretty much obvious they want these moves to not be associated with Benoit anymore, and it's true younger fans will associate them with Bryan now but us older fans will always remember.

Not only do I hope David becomes a wrestler if he wants, but I just hope he has a happy life regardless of what he decides to do in life I really just want him to be happy and successful in life in general, it would be awesome to see him in the ring, but unfortunately his dads actions will never be forgotten and because he’s a Benoit even though David seems like an awesome person in the interviews I’ve seen with him, he will always be tied to what happened with his dad unfortunately it shouldn’t be like that but people are dumb, people should just let David be himself and let him build his own life and live and just be David, he shouldn’t be remembered for something he had no control of, David is his own man and it’s his life and I wish him nothing but success in life

I watch and listen to every one of your videos on you tube and i must say what a great guy Chavo is. This is by far one of most favourite of your interviews to date, it was so interesting and Chavo has such a great background and amazing story to tell.

I remember meeting him and Vickie last year and telling them how much they both and Eddie and Rey meant to me as a Mexican kid growing up. Los Guerreros will always be my fav tag team!

Chavo why didn't you go over to Chris Benoit home when you got his call and texts or call the authorities to check on him, because it seems like he was asking you for help

Chavo was in Benoit house that week! Where did he mention that? He doesn't. Because as soon as people realize that a lot more will start asking questions. Why? Because he already knew where Chris lived at. Why would he need an address to be sent to him? Dude lied to the WWE Talent Relations. about receiving texts from Chris. To do what? Oh, I wanted to protect Chris. Chavo is a liar.

I saw Los Guerreros vs WGTT at a house show a long time ago. After their match, a bunch of wrestlers came out on a balcony to watch the matches. Eddy came out & their was a little girl below him & he kept dropping ice next to her. She couldn't figure out where it was coming from & Eddy looked at us & just did the "Sshhh..." Thing with his finger. My son could not stop laughing

People who haven't watched wrestling: "Boo,Wrestling is fake"
wrestling fans and wrestlers: if you think it's fake then take a bump, get chopped, get hit with a kendo stick and or take a table spot

By those standards, it would be unfair to label action scenes in marital arts films as fake because stunt men will occasionally get hit with force. Is that what you're arguing?

thats awesome Chavo is open about his faith, it makes sense that wrestlers either turn to God or turn to the drugs and booze, i like what Vince said about it, wrestlers either go one extreme or another , either they find God or turn to drugs, i rather work with the ones that find God, bc they are about family and easier to deal with and show up to work, and want to make money, meet the fans, while those who turn to booze and drugs, its all about them and the money and harder to work with and dont care much about going home to family
