would love to see FPV lines like tattuu , CNHL, GNB, and a niche one for cinelifters, Thunder Power.

Love this series! Such an interesting and important factor in rc performance and not discussed enough

To follow up on my Rapid 6.0 4S batteries. I have found their limit the other day. I was satisfied with them in my XRT or Xmaxx as they performed well and the voltage drop wasn't too bad in this application. I have since bought a Kraton 8S EXB which draws more power. When using the Rapid 6.0 packs in the Kraton they hit 120F and were a bit puffed after one run. The voltage drop was worse as the charge in the cells at LVC was quite a bit higher than expected when I checked them due to the voltage drop tripping LVC. I have ordered some CNHL racing batteries to use in the Kraton.

That's unfortunate they puffed after that.

@@RCexplained They aren't that bad and can be used, just not in the Kraton. It draws more power than these batteries can handle.

Thanks for the video and I appreciate what you're trying to achieve with this series.

I know I have asked for this before, but it’s worth mentioning again since it appears you are heading in this direction. Could you test these two brands of battery packs: Onyx Power Systems vs SMC vs MaxAmps. These are the THREEE top battery companies that claim to be the best performance packs. I’ve noticed that the best packs don’t even bother with a C rating, and rightfully so. The difference in load between one person and another will be different and the C rate of discharge will also be different. The lower the mah the higher the C rate and the converse is true: the higher the capacity (mah), the lower the C rate (just by design and steric hinderance). Anyways, I would like very much to see the Onyx 9350mAh vs the SMC 8200mAh SRD packs. MaxAmpos could be done at another time since the cost can be high for thiose packs already. But this will also help answer the question: are higher-cost performance packs WORTH the cost?
The people using these packs are the ones breaking World record speeds (224mph) with a 1/7 scale Arma and HoBao and the fastest Drag race people in that scene.

Appreciate the comment. I do want to test these brands but am having a hard time sourcing them all to get them in to canada. I'd like to compare these brands with similar specs that I have already tested. Around 5000mAh for example.

Hi. As part of your lipo batteries informational videos, I would like to suggest a test of the Reedy Wolfpack lipos. Those batteries are interesting in the sense that are usually more compact than other packs with similar specifications, on other brands. I am not talking about the Zappers, which are the competition series, but the normal packs they sell for their non-racing vehicles, and that they include in their rtr combos. Can you test those? Thank you for any consideration to this request. Best regards!

There's a way to make these lipos better just buye charging them up first then discharging them down to storage mode first before using them and you need a really good charger to get the performance out of your lipos

I wish someone would make a list of batteries with real c ratings.

I agree, just cycle them at 1c and then 5c and then 10, 15, 20, etc. Whatever load they start to overheat at, should be the RCeC rating.

When shopping for reasonably priced packs for my HH UL-19 hydroplane that draws 100A I found the data from MCSGUY on RCGroups helpful. But what he is adding here is the ability to predict real C from IR ohms, which is awesome work!

Amen. When I was looking for reasonably priced packs that could handle 100A for a few minutes I found the data from MCSGUY on RCGroups helpful. What Ryan is adding here is that true C can be calculated/predicted from IR measurements. Now that we can get reasonably priced chargers that measure IR the capability of an individual pack can be predicted.
That is awesome- Thank You Ryan.

But that’s the problem with these “cheap” companies all these lipos do is sit in a warehouse some people might get a lipo that’s fresher then a person down the street might get one that’s been in said warehouse for 5 months longer
