"She said that to me once... about being a machine." Words cannot describe how 343 Industries have literally taken the universe we all know and love to the next level.
My opinions on the Halo campaigns: Halo Wars: Different but interesting Halo Reach: Amazing, plus it adds to the lore Halo Combat Evolved: Words cannot describe the very story that started it all Halo 2: The best Halo 3: Amazing Halo 4: Brought back the franchise with a feel like Combat Evolved Halo 5: No, just no Halo Wars 2: Made up for Halo 5
one of the saddest part is the fact that chief probably has a fully functional radio but most likely chose not to use it seeing as how he lost what was most valuable to him and he didn't care what would happen to him or he's just too shocked and broken that even with all his might he couldn't save her
Bump He didn't give up. He wants to live because he believes in a part of her being alive (which turns out to be true). The thing isn't that he wants to die, it's kind of like if a child watched their parent pass away on their death bed, except that child has severe social disabilities. Chief is *beyond* crushed and heartbroken. He's mortified.
Easily the best one out of them all. It looked incredible both ingame and prerendered, and the tilted brim gave the Chief the ability to look a little more expressive depending on the angle of his head. I only wish the metal plating looked more connected to the under suit, like the previous trilogy, but I'm not too bothered by it. I don't mind some of the alterations made for Halo 5 even though they potentially drastically lessened the look, but the retro look for Infinite is personally terrible. I don't think the design translates well when in higher fidelity, and the shaders make it look like a cosplay suit. I hope Infinite is a spectacular reboot of Halo, but I will never come around to liking the suit. The same goes for the HUD changes, both visually and auditory. I think Halo 4 nailed those as well.
Halo 4 had the BEST art style of all the games in my opinion, halo 4 and halo reach. The Spartans looked most militaristic in these two games. The suits had more futuristic looking lights and more armor protecting exposed spots that led to vital organs, it made sense to make these changes cause the Spartan II program was pretty much the equivalent of spartan prototypes, the first generation but not the first complete generation. In halo 5 they took some of that armor taken away for some stupid reason, the Spartans look way too exposed in that game and they took away the tactical aspects of the armor designs like knives and pouches and that metallic armor look among other stuff, the suits have a lot of curved angles and a plastic look too and it comes off as a bit childish. The same for the elites. I know everyone loves the old elite designs from halo CE-3 but in my opinion they look too robotic in those 3 games, it looks advanced, but it also looks like something a human would come up with with those square angles and simple robotic lights, it’s too utilitarian for alien crusaders. In halo 4 and halo reach they look WAY more zealous and religious with the armor designs. They have sharper angles and the lights form symbols and markings that look pretty religious, some of the helmet designs look like crowns, this is what I’d expect not simply advanced aliens to look like, but advanced zealous, dedicated invading crusaders to look like. Even the space worthy ones with glass visors and pipes have these markings and decorations on them that makes them look advanced and medieval at the same time. Unfortunately in halo 5 they took most of this away. Again, they’re WAY too exposed, most of them have nothing covering their mouths or even their arms, and most of them lost those glowing markings on them and had them reduced to simple lights, again. The helmets almost all look the same, way too many of them have a simple looking helmet, the only good looking elite now is the Arbiter
This Whole Cutscene About Chief Losing Cortana and Being Completely Alone To Himself . Being Broken Inside Shows How Powerful And Moving Halo 4 Story Was
I remember the rumor that if you completed the game on the hardest difficulty you would see chiefs face at the end. I was sad. But happy at the same time.
No, it's his remaining consciousness making a memo. A lot of people don't know this (I didn't either, so don't worry), but the Didact survived his "death" at the end of 4. Guilty Spark survived his, too. The Didact was simply impressed by John's will to move on and that humanity as a species is ready to uphold the Forerunner's Mantle of Responsibility (Forerunner belief that whoever holds the Mantle must become the caretakers of the galaxy, humanity was originally destined to hold the power, but the Precursors were slaughtered by the Forerunners and the Mantle was stolen [stolen yes])
After sorting through some three hours of music, I believe its "Never Forget (Midnight Version)" on the Enhanced Halo 4 Soundtrack. After a while the music started to sound the same to me, so I apologize if I got it wrong. Its at 2:24:04 on this video: Halo 4 Complete Soundtrack [Volume 1 and Volume 2] by P1Advanced
Maybe not a slip space portal like we are used to seeing in the game. But he was definitely transported somewhere because we hear him talking at the end.
0:16 is exactly how i'd feel if i lost someone, that feeling after all of the crying, and accepting it but with that pitiful feeling in the beginning, man lol i watch this cutscene over and over cause of the music, lovin it!
It is the same speech the Didact used to justify war against humanity and how he felt cut off from his own race because he was willing to sacrifice everything for victory, i believe they had it playing at the end to show the parallels with how the Master Chief feels now, especially with Cortana gone.
The Forerunner Trilogy books explain how the Forerunners were not meant to be The Mantle and humans are supposed to be the guardians of the galaxy. The Didact refused to give it up, and the Precursors used the Flood to defeat them. That's why he speaks at the end of being "Accused of the sin of ensuring Forerunner ascendancy..."
Cortana is still alive. She just went through rampancy. Thanks to the librarian she most likely reached the 4th 'theoretical' stage called Meta-stability. Where an AI is considered 'human'. She went from Sad, Angry, Jealousy, then Meta-stability.
I know it's supposed to take place in the past, but I would LOVE for Halo 5 to open with the Didact's speech at the end, pleading to some other surviving forerunners that we don't know about. Sort of how Halo 2 opens with that trial scene... I can dream. :p
I have a theory that that's one of the genetic advancements chief has the Librarian to thank for. Back when she activated his immunity to the Composer, I'm thinking she activated a few more repressed genetic traits, too, that have slowly been asserting themselves. It would be hard to see since John is completely armored.
You Sir, have a perfect statement. So, I have 3 thoerys considering that: 1. Chief haven´t realize that the "cadet" from 30 years ago is todays Lasky. 2. They made Fowrd unto Dawn after Halo 4 was finished. 3. Chief's doesn't give a shit who Lasky is or was XD
the scene with lasky should have flowed better to parralel the halo 4 forward unto dawn mini series. master chief saved him and the 2 other personnel of the corbulo academy in the series. cortana's death was bitterly painful to chief as was lasky's girlfiriend's death at the academy during the series.
Sir, the technological advancements of 2020 have allowed for programs like "Shazam" to exist, I just used the aforementioned program to get the name of that track: "117 - Soundtrack Edit" Have a nice day!
@@mikethespike056 Thanks for responding.....years later. I found out the name of the song shortly after watching this video. Shazam is an awesome app, and I love to use it.
Yeah. Remember he fell into a slip space portal and he spoke at the end. Also, he is the new bad guy for halo 5 and 6. They wouldn't kill him off like that. Not yet.
to be fair, most of them are to cortana when she and chief are alone. if you notice, chief barely says anything to lasky through the course of the game
Actually, I think that may have been an audio "flashback" as in he was speaking to other Forerunners, when he was being trialed for turning humans into prometheans
As a whole 343 did a good job with halo 4 but every time I see a halo 4 marine I cringe...I don't know why something that small makes such a difference to me but I does

First time Lasky sees the Chief on Halo 4, he said "I never thougt I'll see you again" and on this video he said "Feels kinda odd you call ME Sir", thats because Lasky doesn't considere himself superior to the chief. Lasky remembers the Chief since he was a teenager. Chief is the one who doesn't remember Lasky, on Foward unto Down he doesn't even ask his name, he only calls him "cadet".
"She said that to me once... about being a machine."
Words cannot describe how 343 Industries have literally taken the universe we all know and love to the next level.
Sir, you are completely right on that.
More like; how they were ABPUT to take it to the next level... then Microsoft listened to a bunch of focus groups.
and after a while, throw it in the garbage can (h5)
With Halo 4 but not 5
@@narenthebeesechurgerman422 Luckily most of 5 is scrapped.

Halo Wars: Different but interesting

The scene at 1:16 where Thomas talks to John is hands down my favorite scene in Halo.
Alright I admit it. This was a great game and this moment got me in the feels 343 did a superb job. Halo 2 is still my favorite.
Halo 4 was a good start. Pity 343 ruined everything after that.
"You don't talk much do you?"
Lasky! Chief has had more lines in this game than he had in the first three Halo games combined!
I´m gonna miss this suit design

@@neroidius6915 Halo Reach elites are literally OG bruh. But I agree, Halo 4 and Reach had the best art style.
I like halo 2A suits design mixes old style with the new style
One cutscene has changed the halo universe forever
You know what's funny that female spartan said in the game that she thought chief would be taller. Yet in this cut scene he towers over her.
she was formerly a marine and that was a joke about all Spartans.
It’s called size expectation subversion he’s not actually that tall
*sniff* And no wonder why Halo 4 is the most emotional Halo game I've ever played. It is the most emotional one in general in my personal opinion.

that speech tho
The monologue at 11:35 is the Didact's last message to the rest of the Forerunners before being imprisoned in Requiem, right?
No, it's his remaining consciousness making a memo. A lot of people don't know this (I didn't either, so don't worry), but the Didact survived his "death" at the end of 4. There’s just something about seeing the Marines and Spartan-IV’s saluting him at 1:08
Never forget from halo 3 and 117 ost best music
Cortana said "Significant slip space event occurring underneath the composer!" And that's what Didact fell into
Somehow the inclusion of the credits has more power to bring it all back. Thank you.
It's called 117 with the music that plays in the Broadsword battle with this later in. Very awesome.
The ending speech in this at the end epic
Maybe not a slip space portal like we are used to seeing in the game. But he was definitely transported somewhere because we hear him talking at the end.

well this made me remember the sense of accomplishment when i finished the game Legendary Solo.
an amazing cutscene for an amazing story
"Humanity stands as the greatest threat in the galaxy. Refusing to eradicate them is a fools gambit."
And somehow a character with no face can convey so much emotion with so little dialogue.
Has ANYONE noticed that the reversed message in the Halo MCC's Mausoleum Suite quotes the Didact from this scene?
13:21
waiting for that for a whole long time
That's the first part of Never Forget (midnight version). Beautiful piece of music.
Everyone! the song at 2:58 and at the beginning of the credits is Never Forget, powerful song.
The Forerunner Trilogy books explain how the Forerunners were not meant to be The Mantle and humans are supposed to be the guardians of the galaxy. It is Never Forget
Thats the beauty of Halo unfortunately not many people appreciate that factor of halo this time..
in the final thing you do but only his eyes
Wooh, Bristol!
Jesus. People tend to forget that he hadn't had that armor off since the beginning of Halo 2.
I know it's supposed to take place in the past, but I would LOVE for Halo 5 to open with the Didact's speech at the end, pleading to some other surviving forerunners that we don't know about. Sort of how Halo 2 opens with that trial scene... I can dream. :p
never fear a volume 2 is set to release later on the year :)
Halo 4 is a great game. I don't care what others say about it stealing from CoD (which it didn't) and being poorly made, Halo 4 is great.
Wait until he meets The Rookie.
Dude, we've known the Chief was "deathly pale" for years now. Books man, books.
so much awesome
"Never Forget (Midnight Version)"
While the Never Forget remake starts at the beginning of the credits, the track actually starts right there.
11:30 is from the mid point in 117.
That wasn't a slip space portal, that was the composer's energy field.
My best guess is the song "arrival" in the Halo 4 OST
Halo 4 is my second favorite halo game right after reach.
I have a theory that that's one of the genetic advancements chief has the Librarian to thank for. He did not kill them. He took away their physical form and transformed it into data.
John better appear in Spatan ops season 3
Guardians of all that exists? Guardians?! You've just killed about 100 scientists on the composer!
2:42 Is the main part
Why did they do the whole forward unto dawn series if they were going to pretend Lasky and Chief never met before now?
I just looked at that and It's not what I'm talking about
