He did get to drive it and test it before his passing
He means up the mountain for a pikes peak run
His daughter Lia is going to drive it to the top of Pikes Peak this year!

Favorite shots/views were the Hoonipig from above with the crowd standing around the car but keeping a respectful distance from it, as a sign of respect/reverence to KB.

So interestingly enough, George Lucas was inspired by those crate movers in Stockton and in Oakland, so you were dead on with the AT-AT comparison.

Watching this video makes me a bit jealous, at some point in life I want to come to the US and experience a Luftgekühlt event there. Hopefully they hoste an other event in Germany in the near future.

Luft 9 was an awesome event. I loved it. I got to meet Larry, he gave me one of his stickers but then I lost it pulling my phone out of my pocket.😢
Fun Fact: George Lucas has said those cranes were the inspiration behind the design of the AT-AT
Georgelucas film crew were diving across the bay bridge on acid trip when they saw the shipping cranes at the Oakland port and that is where and when the Star Wars atat walkers came from

Look up Bethlehem Steel / Steel stacks... THAT is where they need to have a show like this. It's the old Steel factory it was like it's own town. Some restored others still in original rundown abandonded condition.. WOULD BE EPIC!!!!!!!
