Thanks for the video. I do have to give a shout out to my sweet husband. Since my parents moved in with us our dishwasher gets filled daily and turn it on each night. My husband, who usually gets up before me has gotten in the habit of unloading it while his coffee is brewing. It is so nice to get up and not have that chore to do!!

Right now I have gotten out of my daily routines and I have no idea how! This coming week is when I will get back on track. It makes everything, (even my sleep) better! I just got a Roomba for our upstairs. I dreaded hauling the heavy sweeper to the second floor. I love getting the sweeping done without lifting a finger!

Hello! I’m a missionary in Japan that recently discovered your channel and I’m enjoying it. I used to love FlyLady about 18 years ago but then kids came along and we were so busy with ministry that cleaning became a random process of get it done when I could. Now because of so many restrictions with the state of the world right now, I’m back into having a routine and I LOVE it! My kids are in shock, they are like, who is this mom?! LOL! Anyways, just thought I would also mention, I also had my candles made for our wedding over 21 years ago made at a candle factory in Georgetown. I’m not sure if it is the same as the one you mentioned in your video, but that jogged my memory about those candles. I went to A&M and had an aunt and uncle who lived in Georgetown back then. Anyways, thanks for your channel. It’s very motivational! Blessings from Japan!

As Always Thank you Robin! You always motivate me! In the last 3-4 months I’ve developed a good daily routine ... now to master the weekly and zone cleaning . I’m getting the stuff done if I think about it but it’s more haphazard and I don’t have an accomplished feeling like I would if it was a real routine . The one thing I’ve mastered on a weekly basis is changing the sheets . Every Tuesday clean sheets ( ahhh nothing like it ). Cute story... my mom was immaculate and a very hard worker. Early on in her homemaking career she took the curtains down, washed, ironed , and put them back up EVERY 6 weeks . 😳😳. Anyway when we were growing up she actually starched and ironed our sheets after washing them. My sister and I would get into bed and start giggling and calling them “ sugar sheets” because they were so crisp!

I have two video requests. :) One--can you do a video on cleaning your car: how you go about it, how often, what you do weekly/monthly/etc.? and 2) a video on how you manage social media and homemaking? For example, do you take frequent breaks to check social media/the Internet?, do you have scheduled times, do you minimize time online & tips to minimize it, etc.? I find that Internet use can provide a break during the day or during mundane tasks, but can easily sidetrack my day and eat up my time. I would love to hear your mentoring on managing this! :)

While I squeegee the glass daily, I didn't think about also using my e-cloth to wipe it and the fixtures down as well, and the floor. I will definitely start doing that. Regarding stainless steel sinks - we recently had a new one installed in the kitchen and I didn't realize how easily they scratch, so I purchased a gray silicone mat to help protect it. You are using my favourite E-cloth. This white one is soft and light easy to wash and dry. I use this same E-cloth and the polisher cloth too. Clean my fridge door which stainless looks shiny too😘

Hi Robin - Loved this everyday clearing video. I so agree about taking care of the small things before they become a hard job. I often do not have a full load of dishes after a few days so I take that opportunity to put things in there to finish filling the dishwasher like cake plates or certain pitchers or serving pieces that need washing after sitting up for a while. I have started to clean my shower out after every use like you do. It really helps. Melissa is coming from Dallas this week to take me to two doctors appts. This will help Rebecca who lives here in town and has to take me most times. Rebecca’s husband had heart surgery Friday and needs her attention but he is doing very well. Rachel is off in college and is in her darling little apt. She seems so grown up this year to me. We all miss her so much. Hoping you all are staying safe in Austin. Love in Christ, sweet sister.

Hi Faith, I also use the e-cloths and love that I don't have to use chemicals or cleaners with them. I've had the book Home Comforts for years. I also like Speed Cleaning, a small book that is so useful. And of course, there's the Fly Lady routines that are so helpful. See Diane in Denmark's You Tube channel. So much to help us stay on track and keep a clean home.
Ok so I love you and I love your cleaning routines. You seem so calm. I am a homemaker and stay at home mom and I just want everything perfect… everyday! . My question is .. how do you keep yourself from working too hard and cleaning more and more? How do you get yourself to forget about “the house has to be perfect… especially when you’re home a lot ”?

Robyn, do you know if the sink scrub can be used on non-stainless steel sinks? I have just moved into a new house and the sinks are getting what looks to be specks of rust on them, so I assume they are not stainless steel. Thanks once again for your cleaning inspiration! I have been following you since mid-2020 and am always inspired by your videos. I'm not quite into the weekly routine yet, & am coming to realise that mine will be different to yours (eg, Clothes washing twice per week). I have just purchased a stick vac with little lights on the front like yours...great idea! Thank you for brightening my Lockdown! I'm the same way with the dishes. I turn the ceiling fan on while they air dry and then just give them a little wipe before putting them away in case there's any water spots. I feel less lazy seeing that you do this too lol.

Hi, I just found your channel and really like your videos. Cleaning and routines in general have always been a challenge for me. I am better than I used to be, but always need a refresher. I was curious about your dog, and how you get things done with him/her around. We got our first dog last spring. It has been a challenge to manage him and get my work done when kids are at school, hubby at office. Not just cleaning, but even being able to get my other work (writing) done. He is an Aussie, and currently 8 months old. I can put him in the yard or crate for a little time, but he is a howler. Any advice is most welcome. : ) Thanks again for your videos.

What a great service and ‘ministry’ you provide when so many people, especially women refuse to want to do their daily duties as homemakers (really the ‘heart’ of a marriage and home). You are a gracious model. Quick inquiry: I do not have a stainless steel kitchen sink, I think it’s still porcelain; not sure. What a motivating video!! I really appreciate the tip to clean up messes as they happen. It’s a simple one and yet one I confess I often put off! Also - was that drawer you pulled out your microwave!? I’ve never seen a microwave drawer before - very cool!
In germany we are dealing with hot weather and there are many fruit flies, so I like to run my dishwasher every night. I read that most of the newer dishwasher modells have a sensor that recognize how full it was and adjust the amount of water and time of the cycle so there are no losses of water and energy if it is not completely full. I study my manual intructions and my modell have this sensor, maye your dishwasher have it too
I always fix my bed as part of my morning routine. Back in our old house, I kept up in the kitchen and with the laundry. I did the bathroom once a week and the ceilings once or twice a year. Lee took care of the floor cleaning and yard work as it's difficult for me to move things like carpet cleaners and lawnmowers. In his preteens and now in his teen years, Daniel will dump out our cleaning products. I need three lockable cabinets - one for cleaning products, one as a pantry (he's dumped out my coffee if I leave it on the counter), and one for pottery (he'll break them). Don't know where to put them in the new house though. It's smaller than our old one. Lee wants to shampoo the carpet before we move the rest of our things there. We don't even have electricity there yet. Need to put up the electrical meter and figure out the updated address to get that utility moved there. I still need to get my collection items (think I'll pair them down to the unicorns, Pegasus, dragons, castle, birthstone bear, my baby ones and Asian things and donate the rest) and the rest of my binders and books. Should just take one more haul to get them as I packed them last time I went. There was no room in the car for them. Might go back there with Lee and Daniel today. Waiting for him to call or text me.
Interesting comment about saving energy by running the dishwasher in the evening vs middle of the day. Reality is.... the dishwasher cycle uses the same exact amount of energy regardless of the time of day. The cost may be a few cents different if you pay different rates for peak vs off-peak times, but the amount of energy is the same. A kwh is a kwh regardless of the time on the clock.

Robin what do you use to keep the underneath of the flaps on the sink food disposal clean? We're on well water, that might be why ours always needs cleaning. I typically have to get under them with a scrubby sponge. If you have a better idea would love to know it! I can not fill that part of our sink with baking soda and vinegar for a clean.
I sometimes use a toothbrush to get that area clean. It lets me get up under the flaps using the baking soda mixture. Then I rinse well with very hot water. 💛🌼💛

Congratulations Emerie! The first months of motherhood are meant for caring for your sweet baby and for you to take care of only the very basic things. As you adjust you can establish a routine to take care of your home adding things as you are able. Take it slow and give yourself lots of Grace. Hi Robin - Loved this everyday clearing video. I so agree about taking care of the small things before they become a hard job. I often do not have a full load of dishes after a few days so I take that opportunity to put things in there to finish filling the dishwasher like cake plates or certain pitchers or serving pieces that need washing after sitting up for a while. I have started to clean my shower out after every use like you do. It really helps. Melissa is coming from Dallas this week to take me to two doctors appts. This will help Rebecca who lives here in town and has to take me most times. Rebecca’s husband had heart surgery Friday and needs her attention but he is doing very well. Rachel is off in college and is in her darling little apt. She seems so grown up this year to me. We all miss her so much. Hoping you all are staying safe in Austin. Love in Christ, sweet sister.

I also like Speed Cleaning, a small book that is so useful. And of course, there's the Fly Lady routines that are so helpful. See Diane in Denmark's You Tube channel. So much to help us stay on track and keep a clean home.

Robyn, do you know if the sink scrub can be used on non-stainless steel sinks? I have just moved into a new house and the sinks are getting what looks to be specks of rust on them, so I assume they are not stainless steel. Thanks once again for your cleaning inspiration! I'm the same way with the dishes. I turn the ceiling fan on while they air dry and then just give them a little wipe before putting them away in case there's any water spots. I feel less lazy seeing that you do this too lol.

Hi, I just found your channel and really like your videos. Cleaning and routines in general have always been a challenge for me. I am better than I used to be, but always need a refresher. I was curious about your dog, and how you get things done with him/her around. We got our first dog last spring. It has been a challenge to manage him and get my work done when kids are at school, hubby at office. Not just cleaning, but even being able to get my other work (writing) done. He is an Aussie, and currently 8 months old. I can put him in the yard or crate for a little time, but he is a howler. Any advice is most welcome. : ) Thanks again for your videos.

In germany we are dealing with hot weather and there are many fruit flies, so I like to run my dishwasher every night. I read that most of the newer dishwasher modells have a sensor that recognize how full it was and adjust the amount of water and time of the cycle so there are no losses of water and energy if it is not completely full. I study my manual intructions and my modell have this sensor, maye your dishwasher have it too

I always fix my bed as part of my morning routine. Back in our old house, I kept up in the kitchen and with the laundry. I did the bathroom once a week and the ceilings once or twice a year. Lee took care of the floor cleaning and yard work as it's difficult for me to move things like carpet cleaners and lawnmowers. In his preteens and now in his teen years, Daniel will dump out our cleaning products. I need three lockable cabinets - one for cleaning products, one as a pantry (he's dumped out my coffee if I leave it on the counter), and one for pottery (he'll break them). Don't know where to put them in the new house though. It's smaller than our old one. Lee wants to shampoo the carpet before we move the rest of our things there. We don't even have electricity there yet. Need to put up the electrical meter and figure out the updated address to get that utility moved there. I still need to get my collection items (think I'll pair them down to the unicorns, Pegasus, dragons, castle, birthstone bear, my baby ones and Asian things and donate the rest) and the rest of my binders and books. Should just take one more haul to get them as I packed them last time I went. There was no room in the car for them. Might go back there with Lee and Daniel today. Waiting for him to call or text me.

Interesting comment about saving energy by running the dishwasher in the evening vs middle of the day. Reality is.... the dishwasher cycle uses the same exact amount of energy regardless of the time of day. The cost may be a few cents different if you pay different rates for peak vs off-peak times, but the amount of energy is the same. A kwh is a kwh regardless of the time on the clock.

Robin what do you use to keep the underneath of the flaps on the sink food disposal clean? We're on well water, that might be why ours always needs cleaning. I typically have to get under them with a scrubby sponge. If you have a better idea would love to know it! I can not fill that part of our sink with baking soda and vinegar for a clean.
I sometimes use a toothbrush to get that area clean. It lets me get up under the flaps using the baking soda mixture. Then I rinse well with very hot water.

Congratulations Emerie! The first months of motherhood are meant for caring for your sweet baby and for you to take care of only the very basic things. As you adjust you can establish a routine to take care of your home adding things as you are able. Take it slow and give yourself lots of Grace. Hi Jette! I do keep some of the blinds open during the day. Our roof has a large overhang, so very little direct sunlight comes in. 💛☀️💛
