This is the best Calimoto review I’ve seen. I’ve watched a few and this one really explains the app, not just showing actual rides. The reviewer really knows how to instruct and explain. I could easily plan and create rides after watching. I’m surprised he does not have the most views. He probably will soon. Thanks a bunch. Well done!
Thanks for watching the video and thank you very much for your support in your comment. It is much appreciated. Great to hear the review was informative. Stay safe. Billy 🙏👍🏼
Thanks for taking the time to review this navigation system. I think this navigation app will be a go to system for many bikers looking for a less cumbersome navigator.
Thank you Billy for doing this video, it was very helpful. Not that I spent a lot of time digging into the software, you made it very simple to understand. Mike I
Great video very helpful I’m stumbling my way around the app I do like it so far ( full version) your video will be a great help going. To Wales next month COVID permitting , thanks for taking the time to make it 👍👍
Hi Dale. Thanks for watching the video and your comment. Great to hear it has / will be helpful. Enjoy Wales, my home country and should be heading there myself next month with some mates. Stay safe 👍🏼. Billy
Great review and great app. The only downside I found with the app is that I found if you had a way point programed in & accidentally missed it, there was no way to skip it without going into the menu system. Bit awkward on the move with gloves on. They need a one touch pop up function which allows you to skip a way point on the move.
Thanks Dave for your comments! I will do an update in a few months of using the app, once we can get out and about and will be sure to include that info. Thanks for that 👍🏼. Ride safe and stay safe. Billy 👍🏼
This is a superb video, thanks for the info. The only problem I’m having at the moment is trying to sync my iPhone to my laptop which is running Windows 10. I thought it was supposed to sync automatically but mine isn’t for some reason!
Hi mate. Thanks for watching and your comment. That’s is something I have noticed as well. Does not sync immediately. Have not worked out way around this yet. I may well ask Calimoto to advise on this. Cheers. Billy
HI Lanto. Thanks for watchgina nd your comment! Not that great for off road in terms of planning routes but you can record an off road route and then save that as a GPX file. Let me know if you have other questions. Cheers. Billy
HI Ron. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment and question. Yes, I will do a review of REVER and Scenic. Stay tuned to BBA for when they go live. REVER will be first, probably 2nd half of next week. Thanks for the support! Stay safe. Billy
Great planning app indeed, but one thing I do not like is that when importing an existing route, Calimoto automatically re-calculates that exisiting route 'for an optimal user experience', i.e. you loose the original imported route. That should be an on/off feature.
I agree, definitely an on/off option if they can add add it! It will not do off road or anything close to it. I have had some planning challenges on this so don't use it anymore but for most road riding its great. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Billy
Hi Biker Boy. thanks for your question! If you choose the twisty setting for each way point of your planned route, this will avoid motorway. Hope that helps. Ride safe. Billy
Great video - comprehensive and easy to follow! Do you have any observations re: the acceleration and lean information features available with the Calimoto premium subscription (good / not-so-good)? Are these equivalent to what the BMW Motorand app provides for BMW bike riders?
HI Gustavo. IN my experience due to them being calibrated differently (ie within a different and from a different company the information will vary ever so slightly but not too far apart. So no too bad at all.
Hi Kenneth. Thanks for watching the video and your question. You can click on map at the bottom of the app on your phone and then click track ride. This will record the route you ride without you following a route. Hope that helps. Cheers. Billy
Really good review ! I would like to try this app but also would be happier if i could plan on my mac book. Is this possible as i have only found down loads for windows and can't find anything in app store
Hi Nigel. Thanks for watching and your comment. You can plan on the online version of Calimoto for your MacBook as that is what I use. Then the app on your phone available for iOS and Android. Let me know if you have any more questions Stay safe. Billy. 👍🏼
HI Mark. I just check checked the news on line and it suggests that Calimoto does work. Having said that I am not sure if the USA routes were planned whilst in a different country and then imported to Calimoto to use whist there as oppose to using the app in the USA to plan the journey. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers. Billy
Hi again Don. Offline maps work by downloading the map or a section of it to your phone so that you do not need a signal for it to work. Depending on how far you are travelling without a signal will depend on the map size you need to download. Hope that helps. Cheers. Billy
Thanks Billy, a very well explained introduction to Calimoto - really good! I was wondering if you can shed some light on some of the questions that came to my mind as I watched it: 1) Can Calimoto show speed limit information for the road you're riding like, for instance, Google Maps does?; 2) Can Calimoto provide/consier information about traffic conditions and alternative routes when planning a ride?; 3) You explained how to find rides outside of the free area on the phone app requires a premium subscription - same on the the online PC interface?; 4) The "filter rides by tags and by lenght" screen on my Android phone does not have a “confirm” button like the one on your video, a) Is that because I have don’t have premium subscription? Thanks!
Hi Gustavo Thanks for watching the video, your message and questions 1. Speed limit is not shown on screen. I was thinking exactly this when out last Saturday. This is one of the data missing form the screen info when navigating. I have suggested this to Calimoto. 2. Current traffic conditions not applied when planning route. Also 'live' traffic updates is not part of its function. Other features to make this a great app. Again I have suggested this to Calimoto. 3. No not the same on line when planning a trip outside of your free area. This only applies when using the app and on your phone. This is the first inconsistency I have noticed between app and online version. Fed this to Calimoto. 4. Yes this is a feature of the pro membership which by the way I have literally just read will increase €10 on May 2nd. If you buy before then renew annually at the lower price. ie the price does not go up for existing members even when renewing the annual fee as long as your membership remains active. Let me know if nay other questions Cheers Billy
@@BillysBikeAdventures Thank you for the very quick response! Another question: Is there anything you can comment about the features related to acceleration and lean information available with the Calimoto premium subscription (good / not-so-good)? Are these equivalent to what the BMW Motorand app provides for BMW bike riders?
Hi John On the app you will need to have premium membership as the app is restricted to a free area (around you location) if not Premium membership. As long as you have the same login details for the app as the online version then all should work.
Excellent video. Just what is needed. No idle talk. To the point.

Is this app online for motor bike? I will be driving to Barcelona and I do like a have a nice drive on the mountain roads.
Is this app useful for cars
Hi there. Yes. It may not work with the cars display. Not sure if the app is programmed to work with Apple CarPlay and or Android in car system or not
