The two things I like about the app are the ability to see the random traffic cameras located outside the cities in Germany (I like to ride a little spiritedly) and to see what the corners look like ahead of me. It is sometimes hard to see a corner in the twisties until you are almost at the corner, if it is a big corner then I can work on line selection and carry a little speed (if it isn't a blind or left-hand corner). If it is a very tight switchback than I know to ride accordingly and change my body position to lean the bike and stay upright. This app helps me to ride safely and still have fun! Very nice product review. I have yet to really explore the app this year since the update, I didn't know that you could add in scenic stops. Thanks for that!
This is just the information I needed ! I have been using a Tomtom 410 for a few years now and it’s been great…. However it’s downfall was that you can only choose one road riding style for the whole route and not between via points…. Which lead to exactly the same issues you had in Barcelona ….. thanks very much 👍🏻😊🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
HI; thx kindly for a great video. I have a question regarding two problems I have had after using the PAUSE function. I pre-created a trip, exported it to my cell phone and on my trip, stopped to eat and recharge the phone. I used the PAUSE function and it went into pause mode fine. However after charging the phone and returning to the app, the trip was still in pause mode without a way to RESUME it?? This happened to me on my last two longer trips. How do you resume the trip? Is there a RESUME function? When driving further, the trip stayed in PAUSE mode. Thank you for any help on this.
Hi Juliane, cooles Video.
Hi Juliane, was nice meeting you in Filderstadt together with Jens last weekend. The app itself is nice, simple to use, either on the web or on a mobile, but has "errors" in some places in their maps. Would you know how to communicate such things to them? They also do not take into account some closed roads on weekends. Actually there is a free version, a weekly subscription and a yearly one. Keep on riding & rolling 😁
Let's say I want to go from Penzance in Cornwall to Glastonbury Via the A39. How do I that, without having to put in all the via points? I can't seem to find a way of doing it.
Hello, Thanks for this video. Only one question: what happens if if drive away from the planed route ? Calimoto calculate again the best route to the next waypoint or the software bring me back to the point where i have leaving the planed route, For example i will use calimot as navigation app and come to a traffic jam. Or i use a abbreviation between two streets. Many thanks for a answer :-)
I've had this app for some time now and noticed it has been very inconsistent, buggy and crashes from time to time. I use it on a iPhone Pro 12 Max. Since the update everytime I open the app it says maps updating please leave app open. I leave it open for hours and when closing and using it again after a few hours the message is there again when startring the app. Also - the navigation is not the most reliable. It has told me to turn other left or right at a point where there is no left or right turn. Wierd. I persist with it but don't think I'll renew the premium sub on it. Nice video though, you explained how to use it well. 🙂
this and Kurviger are the Android ones I think I will purchase for one year to try out and decide which I'll stick to. The Calimoto is not cheap, 5x times the price of Kurviger but it seems more polished. If you're one iOS check Scenic.
I love this app, using it for many years and many thousands of kilometers. The new app still has some issues (which are reported and they are working on it). Too bad manufacturers (like the new BMW smartphone cradle - or WunderLinq) don’t work with them. If manufacturers would switch to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and Calimoto would adopt to that, that would be just perfect. Small downside on hardware: OLED screens (e. g. iPhones from iPhone X) tend to burn-in when having them on set on high brightness. Well, my first screen was well burned in after a very sunny season. Holder manufacturers sorted out the vibration-kills-iPhone-cameras-issue, but the screen problem persists. Calimoto could work around that by alternating screen content (repositioning areas like the bar from right to left in landscape mode, aiming at avoiding huge contrast differences). Great, continuously improving software (best out there for motorcycles!) but they can improve in terms of the underlying hardware issues: smartphones are not made for all-day 10 hours of fully sunny navigation unfortunately. Pro tip: when you set a waypoint falsely (because you probably don’t plan your trips as accurately as Juliane does 😉) and don’t want to pause your ride and correct it, try to simply ignore it for some time - depending on how huge the physical difference between you and the waypoint is, how close you were to it once and how long you just ignore it, Calimoto will likely automatically skip it. Something which has been improved a lot compared to 2 or 3 years ago.
Had it many years. Love it.
Great app, great tutorial, thanks! (and that 650 rebuild looks like fun!)
Muss das mal testen, vielen Dank dafür👍✌🍻

Tried others but still the best app, found some amazing roads even in my local area😀
Can you give information about the mods that have been done to the freewind? Thanks! It looks great!
Thanks a lot !! ❤️👍🏻😉
Thanks for you video and sharing your experience with this navtool 👍 what is the bike you’re riding? So good looking !

Juliane, please as soon as possible review the 2022 Yamaha XSR900. Thanks.
Keep up the great reviews.
Just wanted to say hi Juliana 🙋♂️ love listening to you talk 😊 oh and how do you find that helmet? I am finding it hard to make a choice

If I’m planning a long trip, how do I know the distance and time between one waypoint and another, in order to plan for breaks or lodging?

What happens between 17.19 - 17.21 Uhr, when you added the castle? There’s a cut…
We had to change the camera battery 😃

Netter FCA Aufkleber. ^^
