Great review! Simple and to the point. I have a Fitbit Charge 3 that, even with tech support, could not be revived. It's been a good device and I've used it constantly for about 3 years. I was looking for reviews on the lower end Fitbits. I've been a Fitbit user now for almost 8 years and have been very pleased with their devices and service. After reading your review, among others, I am sold on the Inspire 2.
Great review, thank you. I bought the Inspire 2 because it offered exactly what I wanted. Have been very disappointed in it. It turns on only intermittently when I push the side, does not turn on at all when I move my wrist. This means I can't check my heartbeat in the middle of excercises because the screen doesn't turn on. I'm thinking of buying another model.
@@amyr556 Since my post, I have played with the settings (discovered there were more than I realized, but nobody at Fitbit told me that when I asked for help) It still doesn't turn on when I move my wrist, but otherwise, seems to be working OK. Hope that helps.
I love my Fitbit inspire 2. I use it on my days I want to be overly active. I also switch from it go my Apple Watch SE so I can not complain. Love either or. Fitbit I have used for years just thought the Fitbit inspire 2 is good for the gym and for days I do not feel like using my Apple Watch SE so. For the price it is decent
Got mine for about £40. Big upgrade on the last fit bit I had. I used to have the fit bit Alta HR model back in 2018 which died around 2020/2021. I paid over £100 for that so the inspire 2 felt quite the bargain.
I loved this thing I have the inspire 2, But after one year the screen became unresponsive. The warranty was still good and Fitbit replaced it. A year goes by and the replacement is now unresponsive too. These are made to stop working I think :(
Do I need a subscription to look at all my statistics? For some reason I keep seeing I need to buy a premium subscription to look at more things. But I’m unsure what I get if I don’t buy a subscription. Thanks!
Do you need to pay for the subscription to see your heart rates and just step tracking? I have been eyeing this one, but I have never had a Fitbit before and don’t know much about them.
No, a have had 2 Fitbits and without premium you can get everything but with premium u get a more advanced sleep data, wellness reports, mind-fullness sessions, custom challenges and much more but all of the stats u get for free.
Nope, I got a year of the premium subscription free with this and I'm not using any premium features. I've got a tickler in my calendar to unsubscribe to it a year hence. The fitbit tracks your steps, heart rate, sleep hours and a bunch more. The fitbit app can be used to create reminders (like to get up off my a** every hour at work,) and track food intake. I find it easier to use than MyFitnessPal. A pleasant surprise was to find that, despite the sales team's statement to the contrary, you can sign into the Fitbit app on a computer AND your smartphone, and everything syncs.
@@HAli3291 for GPS, yes, you would need your phone. For step count, no. Step count is not very accurate in my experience, any repetitive arm movement (like cleaning) is counted as steps, even if you're sitting.
Thanks for the great review! One question, do you have to pay for the premium monthly subscription to get the basic uses out of this like the app and the step tracking?
No. The step counting, calorie counting, basic sleep score and the app don't need the subscription. You need the subscription for guided exercises and other coaching options.
I know it can track your sleep and give you info, but does it give you the option of setting up a special alarm which wakes up at the right time according to your REM readings, or sleep depth and all that? That would be the one and only reason for me to buy this, so it's important. Thank you!
Thanks for this review! My Fitbit HR braces are finally broken, and I’m thinking of getting Inspire 2. I didn’t realize that it’s slimmer with no button next to the face. It looks good 😊❣️
@@1776Blue I got the Inspire 2 about a month ago. I liked inspire HD, too and there aren’t any significant differences, but Inspire 2 has more battery life, I think. Also, the side button isn’t bumpy on Inspire 2.

The display might be brighter than its predecessor but I don't see any video of the Inspire 2 outside on a sunny day. It would have shown the poor unreadable display. You also didn't discuss how it has no audible alarm for the countdown timer or the alarm. Nor can you set the time for the alarm to go off without using the phone app. The display also doesn't show the passing of time in seconds. This isn't a good fitness watch for anyone who ventures outside. If you swim laps in a pool, it doesn't even come close to the number of laps you swam.
I received this watch as a gift and the clasp on the bracelet broke the first time I put it in. I downloaded the app and according to this watch, I never had a heart beat along with other features that did not register. I wanted a good sleep tracker and it never registered my sleep patterns. My former watch had an option where I could enter my weight in order to track and can’t do it with this brand. The reminders were days old however the step counter was accurate. Very disappointed and it was returned to the store. Maybe I got a watch built on a Friday or Monday :-(
