The Lallantop is in Karnataka to cover Elections. We were in Bangalore, so we visited the very famous Mysore Sandal Soap factory and recorded the making of Mysore sandal soap. Mysore Sandal Soap is a brand of soap manufactured by the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), a company owned by the government of Karnataka in India. This soap has been manufactured since 1916, when Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, the king of Mysore, set up the Government Soap Factory in Bangalore. Another fact is, The is the only soap which is made with 100% Pure sandalwood oil. Watch the video to see the making of Mysore sandal soap.

Mysore Sandal Soap is manufacturing with Sandalwood Oil. This soap is getting 1st Rank in 1st Graded Soaps Category by Consumer Department, Govt. of India.
Mysore Sandal is No. 1 Soap having with 80.67% of TFM (Total Fatty Matter) in India.
The Soap is coming under Laxury Category. My grandmother always used Mysore sandal soap..and i still love mysore sandal soap...during the summer it is so refreshing to take a bath wirh mysore sandal soap..and btw i am 67..so you can imagine for how long we have been using this soap in our family😄😍

Excellent soap. I am using this soap since 40 years. It's my favorite soap.
It is important to showcase the culture of the visiting place. That's the difference between a tourist and a visitor. Great to see bring different facets of Karnataka to fore. I would be as glad to learn about other states too. This can actually become a separate section in Lallantop,showcasing the unique culture of India°mythili,filigree,lepakshi,bamboo work of North East etc. Would Lallantop think about it? Started by the great visionary in early 1900's by Shri Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Diwan Shri Vishveshwaraya
Krishnaraja Wadiya was so caring for the people that when there were no funds to Complete Krishna sagara dam, he and the queen kept their personal jewels as mortgage to get loans to complete the contruction.
Even farmers today of Mandya, Mysuru and surrounding areas are indebted to them.
The Bengaluru we know today is also majorly because of his efforts in his time to establish various educational institutes and Industries.

As you mentioned in your video it is made with 100% pure Sandal Oil
Sandal oil cost 175000-200000 lac rs per ltr if they are adding only 1% it will 1750-2000 per kg oil only
Where as 150grm soap cost is Rs 82
It mean per kg finished soap cost with MRP is Rs 546 per kg
How is it possible
They must be adding few drops per kg of samdal oil rest is perfume
Its all gimic
Yes maximum weight of the soap is from Soap noddles they may add 1-2 drops of sandle oil rest they add colour and perfume for feeling of real sandle .

The base is from Adani group and the oil used is palm oil. There is no sandalwood oil in the base. So it is not 100% sandalwood oil soap as mentioned.
Didn't expect adani here.
But it's not surprising as Karnataka and Central Govt both are rules by the BJP now.

You are right about soap base. Soap contains pure sandalwood oil it does not mean whole soap is made up of sandalwood oil.

@candidt8634 - no soap can be made from 100% Sandalwood, every soap needs a soap base then any fragrance can be added to make end product in whatever shape you want, when they say 100% sandalwood oil, it means no other fragrance, just pure sandalwood added to soap.
As someone pointed out, the majority of industrialists and businessmen in India are from Gujarati or Marwari community so you stop buying any goods /services from that community? Be realistic, and don't lose your common sense by following NDTV and its allies.
