I’m also loving the high waist bottom/cropped top combo! I think it really flatters most people.
Rifle paper co has the most beautiful patterns! I think that would be beautiful in any of the patterns you mentioned, but the Fara blouse especially. The pattern would really be shown off since there aren’t a ton of seam lines.
The bright collar idea for the Sudley could be fun. I’d be worried about it being unbalanced is all, just since it’s so bright and it’ll really draw the eye. That being said, a bright pop of color right next to your face isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all!

Good point Erin. It is super bright. I can always baste it on and remove it if it is too much for me. I do love Rifle Paper and Cotton and Steel rayon is one of my favorites to work with and wear. I only have 2 yards so the Rifle Paper may become whatever makes the most of the fabric.

The azaelia coral fabric with the pink floral is a win! 100%!

I really want to see that rifle paper co fabric made up in a Sudley. I love both that fabric and the pattern. I made lots of Sudley’s in 2023. I wore the heck out of them. Now I feel inspired to make more! Thanks Christine!

Ooh! I think I am going to play with the Sudley pattern pieces and see if I can get it out of 2 yards. Surely I can. It is short sleeved and not overly billowy.

Love all three patterns! The Rifle Paper rayon would make a stunning Patina and that last rayon would make a great blouse with minimal seams to avoid too many breaks in that gorgeous print. Can’t wait to see what you end up making! Xx 💞

I don’t have quite enough of the Rifle Paper for a Patina 🥲.

I think you look great in the bright warm hues. The coral looked better against your skin than the other colors. That large face fabric looks like one that would be nice for color blocking a cardigan.

Thank you! I think I am going to be brave and do the coral fabric first. It looked soooo BRIGHT when I pulled it damp from the washer. It is on my ironing board now and looks less neon now that it is dry again.

Such excellent choices. Excellent fabrics and excellent patterns. The one with the faces might be good for a dress, because the fabric pattern is large. Maybe a Sudley dress? I just loved this video.❤

Thank you. When I bought the faces fabric I was thinking Cielo dress, now not sure on the silhouette. I need to play with pattern pieces to see what will work.

Hi Christine. The coral fabric looks great against your face and it would probably go with both of your printed skirts (hard to tell exactly from colors on camera). Have you thought about something like the Seychelles top by Itch to Stitch? The coral solid color could really show off the pleats at the shoulder. I love your idea of the plum solid in a Patina blouse too.
For the faces fabric, there is quite a bit of pale blue and white and beige apart from the navy field. That would push me toward a skirt instead of a blouse or dress so those paler bits would be more distant from your face. I'm looking forward to seeing what patterns you decide to pair up with what fabrics. Fun (I'm assuming you're like me and love playing with color)! Happy choosing, Antonia

When I scooped up the fabric to move it back to sewing room that coral landed on top of my Sabina Skirt and it looked great. It did not match a color in the skirt but went with the red and blue really well. A happy accident I picked the two up like that as I would not have thought the bright coral would work with it. I popped the coral fabric in for a wash and will be stalking the comments for ideas. I think that will be the next make. The Faces fabric has been a puzzle. I keep waffling on it.

The solids would be perfect blouses for you. I do think the faces fabric would make a wonderful skirt. I just can’t see it as a blouse. I’m anxious to see what you choose to use it for.

i think a Patina with a solid contrasting color would look really nice. you would definitely see the style lines of the collar better.

All lovely ideas! I have the last fabric that you showed with the women’s faces. I made a Paddington Top from Peppermint Magazine with it and I love it! I think a Patina Blouse would look amazing also. Happy sewing! 🌸

Great blouse choices for those wonderful skirts. I made the Patina but it was quite boxy, tucked in would work though and if you made a collared blouse it will balance the outfit better. Honestly that dress on you ❤❤❤, not surprised you get comments 🤩. X

I need to sew that face fabric! We had an almost bathroom renovation disaster yesterday that turned out to be less than what I thought it was when we had water coming through the ceiling down stairs. That truly messed with my capacity to relax and sew. Today is a new day!

What Not to Wear suggested to wear patterns on the bottom if you're top heavy and the opposite if bottom heavy.

I was a big What Not to Wear fan back in the day. I had dreams of having Nick cut and style my hair. It can be a real trial in my very humid climate. When we put the guest bathroom back together after this renovation I have promised to cull it he hair products that I tried and did not work. ☺️
