A Range Rover exterior with a Bentayga interior would be perfect.

the SVAutobiography comes with a much more bedazzled interior configuration thatn this press car. lots of quilt stiching.. really spices it up. i'd take the range rover every time. that bentayga is so ugly i can't stand to look at it.

I saw a Bentayga the other day on the road and although I was forced to admit it wasn't half as visually unpleasant in the metal as it appeared to be in film, I wouldn't exactly call a 'looker'. By contrast the Range rover simply looks imperial.

Range Rover all the way lots of room for my border terriers they like sitting on the parcel shelf and looking out . The Bentley has its place but not in the country.thats the difference the Range Rover looks good and fits in everywhere.even if there 30 years old

Bentley is just not that nice to look at. Looks like everything else. Have to agree that RR Vogue has 95% of what you get in the Autobiography... so why not stick with the Vogue spec. RR drive position can't be beaten... RR look / style cant be beaten... RR all the way.

+Joel Schembri the Range Rover also has champagne flutes and two fridges, one for the champagne bottles in the rear and a fridge in the front for your driver.
I'm also sure the Bentley doesn't have extending foot rests, I know in the Range Rover you can lift your feet almost horizontally

The rear in the SVAutobiography is amazing, there is a brown leather version that a friend owns and it's simply amazing.
I'm quite keen to see what Rolls Royce will produce, Bentley is known for making drivers cars, Rolls isn't.
Was in the market for an SUV and tried the Range Rover. Went with the new Volvo XC90. Has a better interior.
The grey bentayga featured in this video is actually my car, had no idea it was on TH-cam. Having had a Range Rover , and being that I don't get driven at 50mph off-road whilst sitting in the back , driving on a motorway the Bentley is the only way to go. The Bentley really is three times better than the Range Rover. It drives like it's on a carpet. Not so good on corners compared to the x5m I had or a cayenne turbo, even in sport it's no sports car but it goes around corners better than the Range Rover. What he doesn't mention is that with the four seat version you can't put the seats down so only have a small boot. He also doesn't mention in that spec it's £220k - £60k in extras , and even then it doesn't have a tow bar, park heater or mood lights or the breitling clock.....

Would like to see the Bentley Bentayga be compared to a Audi SQ7, to see whether the B feels like its worth 60 - 100 k more.
It is worth it for those with the disposable income to spend on 'nice things'. 60 to 100k extra to people who earn tens of millions annually is like us mortals comparing a £30 Seiko to a £300 one, or a £5000 Breitling. They all tell the time perfectly well. The cheaper ones don't even need winding up if not worn for a few days.

Bentley is bold for making an SUV, but the Bentayga will never triumph over the history and character of the Range Rover.
First: Range Rover has a "sport" version, name is RR SV Autobiography Dynamic this is the compare against BB....
Second:
We have the following viewpoints:
1, Comfort on road and off road - on road winner Bentaxga, off road winner RR - 1:1
2, Fast test as a sport car...? Winner is BB 1:2
3, Luxury - same or similar 2:3
4, off road capability (same the speed limit) - winner BB 3:3
5 price/value - RR 4:3 - winner RR

Very nice video, probably the best out there for comprehensive comparison between Bentayga and Range Rover.
Not that I can afford just the running costs but it's great just dreaming that 1 day I can be undecided between which to buy.
Great review but which one would I choose? Honestly... neither. I would wait for Bentley to make a bigger suv (and they will since this is more of a Range Rover Sport).
If anything their next suv will be smaller. The grandest SUV is still to come, from Rolls-Royce.

I've had it with everyone saying the Bentley is a shitty VW, you have no fucking idea, the cars are completely designed, made in Britain, not one ounce German, the aluminium chassis comes from Ireland.
You'll find some of the parts come from a factory in Dresden and bodies for the Continental from Zwickau, also in Germany. Not to mention that they share the suspension design and navigation equipment with Audi.
According to autotrader pricing: used Bentley £105k, used Rangie £27k, the choice is clear for me, and if well maintained it will last years
At no time did the test mention luggage space. I have a RR Autobiography has to carry 4 people, their skis, mountain bikes, all the accessories, and wet / dirty stuff gets thrown into the back at the end of the day.
I have total confidence in the Range Rover to get me there and back again, in marginal conditions, not true off-road driving. Would I do the same in the Bentley; probably not, and from my plebian position $50k pays for a lot of skiing or biking. In fairness to both vehicles, the design & engineering parameters are aimed at different markets.
You are incorrect about the Bentayga wood. Only the Mulsanne has a backing of hardwood, the Bentayga does not have a hardwood backing.

I have to agree with some comments here that I love the Range rover to bits. It looks like a Range rover and goes like one as well. The Bentley looks dull, and I did think at point in the video that it was a VW Toureg/Audi!!! Yes the Bentley looks fabulous inside, however, the Range Rover is also fabulous. I am biased in favour of the Range rover, but can see the differences inside the cabins. If I were to have either as a company car I would pick the Range rover, I would rather be seen as a country squire than a Politician/Lord.

It seems like you had already made your mind up that the Bentley was the better car before your review started. Obviously Bentley has more prestige in the name but the car wasn't more capable. The RR also has the soft close doors and other features that you conveniently ignored. Range Rover the best 4x4xfar.
As a photographer for the Queensland Supercar Club and Melbourne Supercar Club, speaking to owners of Mclarens, Ferraris ect they all seem to prefer the Range Rover over the Bentley. Considering the Bentley is over $100,000 more than the Range Rover Autobiography.

This video was a set up to be bias to the Bentayga in the first place because , one example, the RR has soft close doors but he mentions it as a perk in the Bentayga.

Really time to update that opening sequence...
From the front, the Bentley looks like an old London taxi. But if you're one of those hyper-wealthy people who just has to have the newest of everything, and the most off-roading that you're going to do is setting up a tailgate party next to the polo field, the Bentley is your obvious choice. If you're actually going get it muddy, go with the Range Rover.

Oh as this is you tube I should add a negative remark too so I don't think you should refer to either of them as "Off road" cars, no vehicle with low profile tyres can wear that badge.

great review. Range Rover will always be king of the SUV'S. It's one of the only car manufacturers that can proudly say a range rover is a range rover. Not like Bentley with the platform of an audi Q7.... scratch further you'll find the VW Badge.
Somewhere along the road (even with a lot of improvements) the RR is going to have electronic problems. The Bentley is mechanically based on a Audi Q7. Would you be better off with a fully loaded Q7 (if you don't mind the lack of the Bentley image) ?
Clive Sinclair who says the Range Rover is going to have a lot of electrical problems? I know plenty people who own the current crop from 2013 and they have never had any major issues with them. People just look for negatives from the past and say what isn't. If they were that plagued with electrical problems they won't be selling by the hundreds of thousands globally. It's the highest selling luxury Suv in the 100k and above price point in the world. You think it got there be being totally unreliable?

***** I know at least 6 people who own the 2014 Range Rover model including the sport version. They have had this car for two years plus and not one issue excluding general maintenance. Like I said the reliability was very bad with the previous generation which had so much more Bmw influence. Ever since Tata took over the business and allowed the Brits run it completely but bringing the required investment financially the brand has improved significantly. Of course there'll be people who would have had one issue or another may be more than some other brands. But the reliability of these cars have greatly improved and I'm talking from experience cause I see them often and ride in them. I'm close to these guys and they have nothing but pleasure to share from driving experience.
I know this is late, but I had a 2018 Bentayga which I didn’t like much especially in Mongolia, switched it out for 2017 Full Option Range haven’t looked back at all, just a better ride overall, feel less stuffed on hot days without A/C on, cause you don’t want too much with children inside etc

the Range just looks so much better even from outside...especially when it's been given the "beans". I don't the Bentley looks "offish"on the exterior.

I'd have the Range Rover. I've had a Range Rover, although not currently. In fact I've had two Range Rovers, the last one being a 2004 model with the underwhelming BMW diesel engine. Apart from the lack of power from the BMW engine, I loved it and it holds joint first place with a Honda I own for best reliability from new.
Why not the Bentayga? Because I want it to tow 3.5 tons and work for its living as well as drive nicely. Badges don't impress me at all, but what a car does and how it does it and whether it is built to last, that all impresses me, or not, very much.
I've had an Audi Q7 since the RR and that was a nice car but didn't do quite what I wanted and the dealers were crooks who tried to milk their customers at every opportunity. They get away with it with a high proportion of customers I guess, but not this one baby!

this is a biased review, you guys didn't show details of the range rover interior and then make conclusions saying the Bentley has the better interior when that's the only Suv u show in detail. I didn't even see your bring out the electronically controlled tables available in the Sv autobiography. There's one thing I know for sure the ride quality will be better in the Range. It is a proper Suv with offroad capabilities unlike the Bentley. The Range Rover interior from all I have seen uses premium Materials as well and rivals that Bentley interior. This is a poorly done comparison review.

It's more of a historic thing. The classic and P38 were plagued with issues. The L322 and L405 are WAY better. Also German car reliability is a myth. If you want to stereotype a country's output and you want something that will not go wrong, go Japanese! 😊

price wise, a Range Rover supercharged V8 LWB would be a closer comparison for the Bentley

Range Rover is a bit outside its price range at 150K when they can deliver the same package without "Autobiography trim" for 100K. As for the Bentayga, the ride quality offroad is totally unacceptable, Range Rover is totally in different league.

The Bentley lacks presence having seen a couple on the road. Surely you want to sit higher not lower and "more sporty", they're SUV's not sports cars. I'd rather waft along in comfort and refinement in this type of vehicle rather than race round corners. The Range Rover is still the pinnacle of SUV's for me. The Bentley is just for people who want the fastest and most expensive regardless of it being the best.
Wow the range's interior looks so old compared to that bentley's interior, I mean my god what an interior on the bentayga. But the Range is a very capable offroad car and is very very comfortable.
