Several years ago when my wife and I were in England, we stayed with friends. His son, who was a Grenadier Guard, was home on leave. His assignment at the time was as a guard at The Tower of London. We met him and I asked, "You see a lot of tourists. Which ones are the worst and which are the best." He didn't hesitate in his response. He said, 'The worst are Americans. They are the most rude, crude, obnoxious, pushy, arrogant and loud persons to deal with." The best were Canadians, those from Scandinavian countries and Japanese.

grenadier guards have a white plume hackle on the left side of the bearskin hat but these guards dont have any. the only guards regiment with no plume is the scots guards but their tunic buttons are in groups of 3. coldstream guards have tunic buttons in pairs and a red plume on the right of the bearskin hat. the only clue that these are grenadiers is the collar badge at 1:39 which is a grenade, with the royal cipher on his shoulder. grenadiers but i dont know why they have no white plume!

You can just about make out the plume on the Sergeant. You can also just about make out the plume on the Guardsman at 3:16.

Can't join the British army unless you're a UK or commonwealth citizen. Also if you're from the republic of Ireland you can join and in Nepal you may have the opportunity to become a gurkha and be part of the british army.
To continue...last year, a Japanese friend had a visit from her parents, who own a retail shop in a smaller Japanese city. The father's English was good, her mother's "not so good." My wife and I were having dinner at her house and I asked the parents, who told me there are a LOT of tourists in their area during summer, which tourists were the best and which were the worst. The father answered. he said the worst BY FAR, were Americans. They're pushy, have no respect for local customs, are loud, obnoxious and so arrogant. The best were Canadians and people from Scandanavian countries. They're not alone. An acquaintance in France told me the same thing.
