Dear UNGA : When Zelenskiy was running for President in Ukraine , he promised the Ukraine Voters that he was going to make a Peace Deal with Russia and give basic Rights to the Donbass Minority, but after getting elected he rejected all the Peace Proposal from EU, US, UN and the bombing re-started and in parallel the Big Oil, Gas and Weapons Companies started to make $ 150 billiions in Profits every 3 months, and many Taxpayers agree that this is no coincidence, this was very well organized: Zelenskiy change of policy and staggering Profits by Oil,Gas and Weapons Companies. Ukraine, as well as other newly formed states from USSR all agreed that Russia is the successor, as far as I'm aware. It had to do with Russia being willing to carry all of that USSR debt on it's own as well as getting the benefits.

The delegates from Eritrea and Sri Lana appear to have missed the point; that due to Russia's abuse of their position in the security council, their open flouting of the UN Charter, International and even Russian law, that the UN has a moral duty to protest Russias actions, Russias disrespect for the UN and international law, and their respect of human life.
The UN has not frozen a sovereign nations assets. Individual states have decided to freeze some Russian assets as a way to express their extreme unhappiness with Russias continuing agression. Thos states who have frozen Russian assets have not done anything with them, nor are they likely to until there is an internationally agreed decision as to what to do with them. Suggesting otherwise is itself a divisive utterance.
Further, the fact that some countries in the past have done bad things - my own (the UK) included, does not mean that it's OK to do bad things now. Two wrongs do not equal a right. And I am sure that most people are entirely sympathetic to those countries who suffered due to the colonialism of recent centries, and that continue to suffer. Yes, there SHOULD be talk about reparations for them, too. But how does one do that without some internationally agreed framework?
One of the things that has long annoyed me has been the US saying one thing "freedom, democracy, liberty" and then subverting the governments of countries whose demoractically elected governments weren't t their liking. It is my sincere hope that action that the UN takes NOW will (a) redress , to the extent possible, the past and current wrongs (why havent we heard much about the terrible situation in Myanmar, for example?!) and (b) dissuade ALL nations from starting wars.
Finally, given the UN Charter and its stance on internationally agreed boundaries, there is nothing to talk about until Russia has withdrawn its forces from Ukraine. I remind you that Russias claimed causus belli was that the Ukrainian governemnet was systematically abusing ethnic Russians and surpressing the use of Russian as a language within Ukraine. It has provided no evidence to support these claims. Instead it invaded parts of Ukraine in 2014, and again in 2022, causing devestation to Ukraine, and interrupting the supply of food to other countries around the world. It thought it could threaten the rest of the world into letting it annex Ukraine. It has discovered that it was wrong in that thought. This is not West vs East - this is Law vs barbarism. The UN and NATO were set up with the express purpose of trying to stop us Europeans - or , incidentally, anyone else - from starting more conflicts and dragging everyone else into them. To claim otherwise is quite simply at best misunderstanding and at worst a downright lie. Opposing Russian agression so strongly now ALSO sends a message to America, China and anyone else who might decide that a war might be a good thing to start. So don't gve me your "what about"isms, look at what IS happeneing, what HAS happened, and what needs to be done about it., without favour or prejudice. It is within Russias ability to stop this war this instant. It has been within its power to stop it from the 24th of February, but it has chosen not to do so. Ukraine has merely been doing what Russia did when Germany attacked it in WW2 - defending itself against an agressor. And as Molotove rightly said about Russia deserving reparations for the harm caused it by the agressor, so Ukraine deserves reparations from Russia for the harm that Russia has caused. I'll get off my soapbox now... :-}

Ukraine has become tool for the politicians of today to fight over, and for the Ukrainians to be subjected to misery, death, destruction and chaos.
In order to understand any complex geopolitical situation, such as this one, we have to go back in history in order to find threads that are interwoven from that time to this. Just how far back is dependent upon which 'facts' you wish to validate, and there are many.
I see this situation arising through the necessity of the USA to assert and maintain its Hegemony. Both the US and Russia were, and are, capable of stopping this war whenever they want. It has not been stopped as it is not in the interests of the politicians from Russia or USA.
Russia can see this war as a reclaiming of old territories, and very good and profitable territories they are with much of Ukraine's heavy industries set up here for the accessibility to the raw materials needed. They can dress the land grab as ''providing safety and security to the Russian peoples within these lands'' of which there are many.
The USA weakens, both militarily and economically, Russia. The US also weakens the Euro zone economically. Both strategies that are needed to enable America to maintain Hegemony and usefulness to European countries.
The USA has Taiwan as its target next, to provoke and prod China in the same way they did to Russia. They have long been sending arms to Taiwan, just as they did to Ukraine.
The population of the world is in the grip of tyrants with the sole goal of obtaining their own wealth at the expense of others.

All 193 countries agree on legal international charters.
The USSR legally created the Russian federation and Ukraine as separate entities, along with other areas.
The Russian federation has also formally acknowledged Ukraine as a sovereign country.
We cannot create a world where laws are not above feelings.
Saying Ukraine has many ethnic Russians, does not mean a single thing legally. Thats just a Russian estimate.
If Russia says Ukrainians are abusing ethnic Russians, than they need to show it.
When investigations keep showing that Russia is militarily, financially and politically promoting a separatist movement, than its clear to anyone that this is also illegal interference and sabotage of a foreign nation.

The USA and NATO should pay reparations to all the people of the countries they have bombed and or invaded over the last 50 years.
The UK should pay for its Imperial rule over the colonies, Kenya to name one of the worst.

US should not have meddled, and let Ukraine remsin neutral and sovereign. Ukraine is badly losing, that is the truth, and they were pushed on by the west. US and UK do not care for Ukraine-they care about resources and no country has ever benefitted from Western intervention in all the decades since WW2. While well-intentioned, history is not represented well or accurately in this commentary, and western media prattles on with its false war propaganda, which will, as in all other such wars, be shown to be egregious lies decades hence.
Peace and negotiations--this war was not unprovoked at all. The west war is not fighting for democracy. The west is fighting for dominance and continued hegemony. The UN is a limp, bullied organization.
