This may be a little odd... But as a beginner, I think I am going to use the app to make a playlist, then "reverse engineer" it and teach myself the transitions the app makes.
That’s fully how I planned to use it too! As a beginner My main struggle is choosing which tracks to transition into to keep the flow of the playlist going
Downloaded DJ Studio today for a test drive. The demo mix, which was there when launching the app the first time, was spot on, so my expectations were quite high. I started creating a new mix by adding random deep house, house, and tech house tracks from my collection around the same BPM, and let DJ Studio do it's magic. Well, the result was not impressive. While in most cases, it managed to beat match and do okayish crossfade transitions, there were a few complete train wrecks in terms of beat matching, and in many transitions, the phrase mixing was off. Tried another mix with hip hop/downtempo style tracks from a Traktor playlist I had prepared for a DJ set, and the results were even worse. I gave it one more chance by adding deep house tracks from one of my DJ set playlists, which I had prepared with the help of Mixed In Key, to create a harmonic mix. The result was okay this time, but it still didn't impress me. While transitions and phrase mixing were clean, the mix was missing soul. Well, it's AI, so can you expect that? Also, by default, the transitions were 16 bars long. I like to do long mixes, so this felt short to me. Yes, there is an option to prolong the transition, but changing the value from 16 bars to 32 bars threw the mix off, meaning that I had to start shifting the tracks in the timeline so that the track being mixed out didn't end too early. This may be designed towards electronic music with 4 on the floor rhythm, and it seems like it needs some assistance in pre-selecting tracks within the same genre. While the DJ Studio automix can give you some ideas quickly, there is still quite a lot of manual tweaking to be done to create perfect mixes. I feel that I can achieve better results by having my collection analysed with Mixed In Key, using my ears and selecting the tracks moving through the circle of fifths, and, last but not least, having fun mixing by myself and putting some soul into it.
That's a fair assessment Sami! There is indeed quite a bit of manual work to be put into it when fixing up transitions (so those complaining it's too easy have *not* seen the video), and yes, there's quite a lot that needs to be improved on, but it can get the basic work done with different transitions. Thanks for giving an honest, personal review on it!
@@djcarlo Played around a bit more, and I can see this could be handy for preparing longer, curated mixed playlists for radio shows or background music for events. It's not perfect, though, as mentioned in my previous comment. If DJ Studio could crawl through my whole 12K+ tracks collection and then create mixes from some parameters I have selected, such as what genres to include, key range with start and end key, do I want energy boosts, what type of transitions I prefer, how many tracks or how long mix in minutes I'd like to have, etc. etc. that would be awesome. Or if I could pick a couple of tracks and let DJ Studio fill in the rest with matching tracks, that would be great, too. However, in its current state, I wouldn't pay anywhere near the €299 price tag, not even the €129 price of the Lite version, if it had all the Pro features. Even if the flaws were fixed and the abovementioned features were introduced, it would still feel overpriced. Then, I could consider paying maybe half of the current €299 price. I already own Mixed In Key and Ableton Live Suite, so DJ Studio would not add much to my arsenal. I can do more or less the same with more options and detailed precision with these two. The only thing I'm missing is the "Automix" feature, which is not working perfectly anyway. I spent a good couple of hours creating and fine-tuning a perfect 1.5-hour mix in DJ Studio, so it did not save time for me. Sure, my workflow would probably come faster with time. Still, at the end of the day, I rather mix with decks or controller and turn the knobs on my DJ mixer than try to align beats on a timeline and adjust transition automations in DJ Studio, even if it would save me some time.
@@Del-Blanco-Diablo The AI doesn't select the songs, but you select the songs. Then, the AI makes transitions between the songs to mix in the order you have selected, or alternatively, with the "Automix" option, the AI will also determine the order of the songs. I can see this being useful for touring DJs needing to deliver clean, flawless mixes for radio shows without super technical mixing tricks, or people who need to create background music for events etc. For example, you can create a mix quickly on the go in a plane, which is undeniably convenient.
I can see this being super useful for long sets where everything has to be perfect like a wedding however I have ADD and I find an enormous amount of satisfaction in physically mixing between songs that I choose
Ohhhh, I actually would recommend this more for radio shows or venues where the mixes are in the background! To curate a playlist for a wedding, absolutely! But to mix for a wedding? Maaaayybbbeee not quite. Gotta keep the party chugging along!
As a dj…. I’m speechless.. this takes the natural blending, and beat matching and eliminates the stress.. so you’re telling me my live hour 2 hour mixes can be ai drivin in 10-15 mins!? If that?! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
This is awesome. And yes, I am an old school dj where I started with Vinyl. But as times passes, technology evolves. You can either stay behind or embrace the new and incorporate that. I still have my turntables technics 1200 which I will never get rid of and a dj controller. Let me tell you, carrying turntables and crates to every gig can weigh in on you. With this software, I was able to get the playlist that I CREATED in Rekordbox with hotcues that I CREATED. Adjusted the transitions to my liking and exported the mix so I can submit it to my radio show. Saved me time. So yes its AI but you still have to do your part.
Bam! Right here! You're the kind of person who understands why technology moves forward! No more achy breaky backs hahaha, and yeah, it does save time for things like megamixes or radio shows.
I started messin with this just today. All I can say is WOW. It's a great tool to learn about all the nuances of organization and transitions. Great stuff here !
It's a little sloppy if you don't mess with the timings/grids like you mention above in the video... but other than that, what a tool! This is gonna save time for lots of peeps out there!@@djcarlo
Here goes DJ Carlo selling me on something cool as hell AGAIN! Finally an AI program that's not Apple specific. Mind blowing how fast you go from finding out about stuff like this to being able to provide informative content. Thanks brother!
It is! But then again, all we need to do is stay ahead of the curve, and still do what DJ.Studio can't do: crowd read in live settings! But if you wanna make a mix for yourself or for someone at home, this is the perfect program for it!
As a beginner dj this is such a great tool to remove a lot of the possible frustration of seeing how tracks can blend together, help jumpstart a better understanding of blending/mixing, and sorting through songs.
To be honest, as a starting DJ, this does me feel a little intimidated. It's like starting when an industry has begun reaching its logical conclusion. I think live DJs will always have a place though, as clubs continue to die under the high costs of today, experienced live DJs will become a selling point. Like, as a club goer, where would you rather go? A club with a robot playing, or, a club with a name you like?
Bingo! It's not gonna take over the more human aspects of DJing. While improvements can be made and upgraded, this isn't the kind of program that learns to imitate human nuances. It can make a pretty great mixtape though!
For this technology to take the place of human djs it would need to be able to view the crowd and be able to read it . I'm pretty sure that technology already exists all you would have too do is integrate into the dj AI and plug in camera and bye bye humans djs. If that ever happens I'll be going all john conner from terminator all machines must die😅😅😅😅😅
I understand why this could be useful but for me it takes out everything what i like about DJing. The joy of finding that perfect mix is gone with this tool. I actually enjoy all the work that needs to be done to find songs that work together. I sometimes use Ableton for creating mixes and i always feel like i’m cheating so this is not for me.
That's fine! Some find the joy in finding great mixes on their own. It's like finding your favorite record after hours of crate digging. But personally, I do appreciate the work DJ.Studio can help me with for my set!
Haha same! Sometimes I make the mix in Ableton, for radio/podcast, because if I do it live and I make an error, I`am afterwards in Ableton, editing it anyway lol. But that already feels like Cheating indeed, Imagine using this software haha. But I also think, it´s more fun, to make great transitions with your own input or great song selection. Also, I think if you play live on a party, u need to know how to mix live. Still learning that :)
granted I'll never call myself a DJ (producer/DJ), but this does seem like a decent way to at least get a good rough mix going more easily when prepping sets if you are a proper DJ. But yeah for the more basic DJ'ing it'd be a borderline replacement
@@djcarlo (I didn’t have to do anything) not even think.. just feed it Spotify and yt music then just go home 🏡 mixatron along with the auto mix is gonna turn the scene into a hobby talent value questionable but may human ingenuity still flourish in new creative ways
I still prefer mixing it myself and messing w the pacing, sampling, etc, but this is just so incredibly useful to use this to start the process by suggesting the order. Love to give it a shot.
Let me get this clear.. i dont want this to mix for me and I dont care about the video part but... can upload my spoitfy playlist and it''ll put them in order I then can use that playlist in Serato? id pay an arm and leg for that..
Essentially, yes! You just need to export the playlist. But, I do say, I've gotta check how it'll work if you go from Spotify to playlist; I only checked for its compatibility with local files.
Wow, very interesting, I see this as a way of organizing your track into a crate or playlist. Can the track list be exported into Serato? How is that done?
One question exporting in which of these modes available (youtube, spotify, playlist for serato, etc.) I can automix live meaning I want to play a song and I want to continue having transitions and harmonic order even if I want to introduce a new song live or does it needs to be all prepared from the start?
You'll need to do some manual tinkering, but you can add songs to the mix later on! You could also press Automix again, and let the software do it for you if you don't mind it doing its thing with the order
Just wondering I’m looking into getting into djing, and I was wondering if xlr outputs are essentiallike for local clubs, Ik I’m just starting but I don’t wanna drop 400-600 on a controller just to need to upgrade a year or 2 later I’d rather just spend the extra money for a controller with xlr outputs
I'm currently at ADE and they had a pop up event for that software and i wanted to go, it was full though. So cool that you dropped a video on it. Are you also at ADE?
Is it compatible with a dj controller? Can it be used for live dJing? Asking as a beginner who is wanting to utilize this to help with mixing until I get better at doing it completely manually.
Unfortunately, no. This is really meant for making mixtapes and playlists from your computer, but not for mixing live in a club. That'll really require you to practice Kamille :)
Rock and Hip Hop are fine, as long as they're done with metronomes hehe. The software does get clunky with live drums (like any DJ software), so it's always best to be on top your transitions!
I figured out the songs and edited them. after I export to Rekordbox, I can't see the edited tracks. The track is still on the same old version. why is it? what is the reason for the transition section on DJ Studio? Are they going to export on Rekordbox?
OMG This is amazing. This is going to help me select songs much easier. 5 Starts for this software. And DJ Carlito, you explain things so easy and with fun also. Keep up the good work…
Unfortunately, it's rarely the case, at least when it comes to EDM music, that the program hits the one perfectly while mixing. Simply loading songs and assuming they'll fit together has rarely been the case for me. I'm a dance instructor, which is why it's important for me that all the songs are countable and the transition to one occurs. Do you have any tips for this? I always had to readjust.
Every time I make a TH-cam Mix off TH-cam Urls... it does not allow me to export like you showed in this video. keeps telling me that there was an error in the project
All it says is that there is an error in the project... So I tried making a new one with 3 different TH-cam urls.. same thing, doesn't work and im on a 2020 Mac Mini M1.. left a message for them to see why that is..
Hey DJ Carlo! Thank you for all your videos and helpful tips especially for beginners like myself! Can you do a video on beginner lighting set ups? Thank you!
Hmmm, that one might be out of my field of coverage as I don't set up my lights when I DJ (it wasn't a thing in The Philippines). TH-cam was my biggest help when it came to doing my own home lighting set ups for my studio, so have a gander at other tutorials around here too!
DJCarlo can you give me some pointers on what I’m doing wrong and can I use my SoundCloud account? I haven’t figured out how to upload. Also, can I access my third-party hard drive and the music that I may have on it as well? I have so many questions. I’ll wait for a reply and see if we can’t figure this out. Going on date two of my free trial thank you.
I've gotta double check which platforms you can directly upload to, but you can, indeed, use local files from your hard drive! You can drag and drop them straight onto the timeline
it works with the wave 1411 kpbs (audio) export, I can see the hot cues on rekordbox but not in Mp3 export. Do you absolutely have to mix in key? THANKS
Hey Carlos, I currently have MAC OS Sonoma but when I hit the download now button to purchase the software, it does not give me the option for Sonoma!!! Is this software compatible with Sonoma? If so, which version do I need to choose for downloading? It only gives me the option for Silicon, Intel, High Sierra and Mojave........I really want to purchase this software! Please help!
Oh! If that's the case, that usually means its compatible under the MacOS or Apple option. I think the rest are listed because they've got quirks that needed to be specifically addressed due to older builds, etc
I can see this AI stuff being good for DJs who want to spend as little time as possible concentrating on those boring gigs they have to take just to pay the bills (i.e. corporate gigs, weddings etc), and focus their energy on being more creative with the kinds of mixes they actually love making.
Interesting take! Where I'm from, weddings and corporate gigs are the most lucrative ones, and I get to play what I want in them usually! But I do see where you're coming from, and indeed, it's a great tool on that front!
I just remembered the MixMeister software back in the day. First time I used it was on 2008, I don't know if they still on the business. On the other hand, DJ Studo is way much better than MixMeister.
Oh ho not quite! As much as this program CAN do it, it doesn't have quite the same impact as cutting it up live. There's a bunch of things that it can't emulate 😄
It's not the best, hence why id recommend using your own songs, but if you're making a mixtape for friends or people who won't play them on big speakers, they're great!
I've lived in Ableton for 10 years and so it made sense to do studio mix projects there. Awesome, but after having done 100's of studio mixes and live set prep in Ableton, with the same workflow, I started looking for a way to do the same essential functions faster. A week in w/DJ.Studio, it literally feels like the DJ Mix version of Ableton V15;) It's definitely Pro grade software, immediately made sense to me. It's also cool at coming up with mix ideas I might not have, even for my live sets. With the Rekordbox & Ableton "compatibility" maybe that is best of both worlds. Dope product, thanks for the run downs.
Indeed! And to make things better, they consistently update to improve their product, which means it just keeps getting better and better! And that they listen to consumers with all the necessities, which is a big plus for me.
my thoughts on AI DJs is that they won't replace real DJs. A lot of people go to clubs not just to dance, but to listen to a REAL LIVE DJ, otherwise, we'd already be using spotify playlists instead of DJs (Playlists on Spotify that are MADE by Spotify have beatmatched transitions, it's pretty cool), additionally, in festivals, people don't go there to see a computer perform, they want to see an actual DJ perform, usually their favourite ones.
Heyy bro,can you make a video on smart fader feature or alternative to get it working on any dj controller in rekordbox dj please bro make a video on this n explain it
That's all attainable by remapping! Just open your midi settings in Rekordbox DJ, and change one of the buttons on your controller to that of Smart Fader so you can activate it anytime
@@djcarlo i mean my headphones have USB input, but ddj flx4 have only AUX input. Is there any way to use them while mixing or should I buy a new one with a different input?
Oh, okay, was confused there as I thought you were talking about the video. You should definitely make use of headphones with the appropriate jack for the FLX4. 3.5mm
i wish i could import by folder. i wish it would correctly choose the drive that my USB rekordbox library is on instead of thinking its on the same drive location it was on my DJ laptop. there's so many little annoying things about this software
It might be the end of the hoards of “entry level DJs”. Same with ChatGPT being able to replace entry level programmers. But that just makes more room for the really dedicated and creatives to shine!
As a complete beginner, I would like an easy way to make small and simple mixes. But this software seems both too costly and too bloated, which I find very perplexing? A simple timeline view, with some beatmix automation, would be enough, I think. Throw in a couple of funky effects, maybe. Then sell it for less than 50 bucks. And that's it! Are there any software like that out there...?
Not anymore! This is pretty much the only software that doesn't it from what I know. The price goes a long way though; they've been continuously updating since launch
Ohhhh, I'm not sure. If there's one, I'm not familiar with it. Most programs of a similar nature allow you to add intros and edit a track, but not quite "remix" it
Probs won't change much in clubs but may for weddings, parties and events. The drum machine didn't kill the drummer, just the 4 to the floor session musicians.
Bingo! But I do disagree about weddings and events. Maybe for cocktails, or the "chill" moments, DJ.Studio will step in. But for the main party? Not quite haha
There are actually quite a lot, and don't limit yourself to Billboard. The United States doesn't speak for the entire world when it comes to charting music. Heck, in The Philippines, at least 5 of our top 10 songs at the moment are still utilizing live drummers, and they're all from this decade (2020s)
Given that there is, especially in pop music (and house music; they never had the chance), they weren't replaced. Over the course of modern pop music, even with AI everything, they weren't completely obliterated. It'll be the same for DJs. Less DJs, potentially yes, but for places and venues that need 'em? We're not gonna give up so quickly. I'll personally be using DJ.Studio to learn even more about the nuances and whatnot of song flow. I still believe it's here to help, and not to completely take over.
#AskDJCarlo Hey Dj Carlo, I would like to know what software is appropriate for the Cdj 3000 and Djm S11 because we are still planning to buy that. But what we are looking for is Stem Control. You know that for the live Mash-up. I like that. Thank you very much for the reply.
Podemos usar canciones de hip hop en este app! I just didn't use them in the examples here. Any genre, as long as it has a properly programmed beat, can be used with DJ.studio
I would only really want to use this if I was recording a studio mix of material for an official release like a major label or distributor compilation album, never in he raves.
@@djcarlo It is amusing to consider how, in an age of abundant opportunities to utilise our time, activities such as mixing tunes or appreciating artwork are deemed too time-consuming to indulge in. This is the paradox of plenty.
I purchased the program to play around with it and see what the hype is all about. I have a feeling that it will improve significantly with future updates but 1 thing is for sure.... If it doesn't learn Phrasing.... Then it will always Transition tracks in a very mediocre way at the end of the track rather than KNOW when a track SHOULD be transitioned... I'm still learning how to use it and maybe it can do that but so far I noticed that the transitions are very simple. Sure, there are a bunch of attributes you can change but it will never know the phrases of the track like a human being would. AI is simply not there yet and it gives me comfort because I definitely don't want people to be able to easily do what we worked so hard to learn and perfect. Anyway, cool idea. Gonna keep learning what it can do.
Maybe im just hard headed, and I do find this really cool/could be a useful tool to use in some situations. But for me, I feel like this software would take the fun out of it for me personally I love being in the zone, not worried about the future, not worried about the past, only worried on my mix and the music. Still Can’t wait to play around with this software and see what it can do, being a dj is so fun
That's not being hard headed, that's actually what I'd do with it! Still mix live, and do my thing where an audience needs a DJ, but for playlists, song combos, and even just background mixtapes, DJ.Studio's got me!
ça à l'air génial mais la fonction cruise de tracktor est déjà bien avancée dans ce domaine. sorry. i said, sounds great but cruise mode in tracktor looks already advanced in this area.
I have a weakness for slow rock and the early British Lovers Rock of the reggae genre. Now, I have this unique childhood skill where I would listen to a particular track then create a mental picture of which track it's supposed to work well with. During my childhood I used to go to sleep after creating a mental playlist where the first track was We Are The World followed by Careless Whispers and so on... But later in adulthood, when Virtual DJ software came into place, I came to realise the propensity of the actual task, I realised that both the BPM and the keys are far apart from each of the tracks in my childhood fantasy mixes. Now, this is where DJ.Studio AI based expertise comes into play. As an underground DJ who is passionate about creating private mixes just for the fun of it, I would sometime listen to some of my past mixes and there's this nudging feeling that comes to play. And it keeps prodding my conscience, telling me that something about a particular mix is a bit off. When your conscience disagrees with your consciousness, your self esteem gets reduced and you it kind of feels that other people too might not like your mixes. Dj.Studio is a godsend especially where it promises to create a harmonic mix from the input of the tracks you feed it. But my input, I feel so, it is much greater than the software, for I know what the earlier British lovers Rock feels like from my 80s experience. I know what playlist to feed it and the kind of groove it should impart after the curtain closes when the last track finally fades off into oblivion... How about creating an 80s slow rock playlist where the main theme is the 'throbbing bass'? Add Rock Me by Johnny Nash, then Crazy For You by Madonna, Joe Le Taxi, I Wanna Know What Love is, Roxette, Human Nature, I wanna be your man, The girl is mine etc Sleep on that 😊
This is an entirely new paradigm I've never thought of for DJ.Studio! Wonderful tracks too, the ones you've mentioned. Can't wait to see what your mix sounds like!
Let's say they launch another product saying online DJ, where we select languages and genres and event style. And the software creates it's own mixes and play??
Not quite! It's fairly different in the sense that it's not really a live-mixing type of program. There is an automix in both I believe, but DJ.Studio's is far more refined
Surprisingly yes! Though it's not perfectly tuned for all songs in that sense. If you check the beginning, there's a few samples that use popular songs, and it can recognize where to really mix them in and out. It does require a little extra input from you as the DJ though
I was slightly anxious about it, but after trying it out it seems we'll be good for another few years as djs. The time it will do correct phrase mixing automatically its over.

As a dj…. I’m speechless.. this takes the natural blending, and beat matching and eliminates the stress.. so you’re telling me my live hour 2 hour mixes can be ai drivin in 10-15 mins!? If that?! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
That's EXACTLY what I'm telling you! This is pretty great for making longer mixtapes with basic mixing. Saves a ton of time
Reminds me of MixMeister which came out about 17 years ago I believe
This is essentially a spiritual successor! But with a lot of improvements
I think it was inspired by MixMeister!
@@djcarlo thank you sir.
Who are you to tell me what weighs on me or not? It's an odd projection, sir!
@@SogoTX well said
Yes!! Love this comment. I can’t wait to try it out!
I started messin with this just today. All I can say is WOW.
It's a great tool to learn about all the nuances of organization and transitions.
Great stuff here !
Yeah man! This app is amazing! And more updates are yet to come!
For sure brother! It's a crazy useful piece of software, so I highly recommend checking it out!
I have been following this app/ product on TH-cam since launch. Its the future and as a long time dj... that's hard to say! Awesome vid. Thanks.
Bingo! I love being able to check my transitions and song interactions on the fly!
Yeah but after messing it up 15,037 times it’s very satisfying when you FINALLY get it right. If you take all that out won’t it be boring?
To be honest, as a starting DJ, this does me feel a little intimidated. It's like starting when an industry has begun reaching its logical conclusion. I think live DJs will always have a place though, as clubs continue to die under the high costs of today, experienced live DJs will become a selling point. Like, as a club goer, where would you rather go? A club with a robot playing, or, a club with a name you like?
Bingo! It's not gonna take over the more human aspects of DJing. While improvements can be made and upgraded, this isn't the kind of program that learns to imitate human nuances. It can make a pretty great mixtape though!
@@djcarloI hate to be that guy but that might just be for now lol
But personally, I do appreciate the work DJ.Studio can help me with for my set!
exactly!!!
0:53 I loooooove that song "DJ Horns x 10000" It's been my closing track for years now!
Hahahaha, it's my favorite hit! Always gets a club going.
Thanks a lot carlo !
I try this a couple hours and i find it this app really good.
I can clearly make a decent pre mix very quickly.. mindblowing
Great stuff right? Really helps out in making long mixtapes!
granted I'll never call myself a DJ (producer/DJ), but this does seem like a decent way to at least get a good rough mix going more easily when prepping sets if you are a proper DJ. But yeah for the more basic DJ'ing it'd be a borderline replacement
It is! I actually tested out a lot of possible mix combos with this so I didn't have to set up my gear
Right?! I fell in love with *that* the most!
Yes! I believe the same way it's exported to Rekordbox, as detailed in the video
@@djcarlo Thank you.
Mostly, yes! XLR outputs are balanced, and give the best sound quality. PL is also good, but most major clubs and bigger venues use XLR.
I'm currently at ADE and they had a pop up event for that software and i wanted to go, it was full though. So cool that you dropped a video on it.
Are you also at ADE?
Yeah Luke did a great talk! I’m not. I was too busy making this video haha
Is this app work for Android phone or computer or both??
I believe it's computer only
Hello sir. Can you please make a video comparing Lexicon and Mixed in Key 10, suggesting which one is better.
Ohhh, I haven't used Lexicon yet! Great idea for a future video!
hope we will see the video soon before we waste our money 😂 thanx for the response, I really appreciate it 🙏 @@djcarlo
Great breakdown of this software Carlo.
How well does it cope with with old school Funk, Soul and Reggae though?
As long as the beats are in time, then it's all good! When the BPMs drift due to live drums, well, that's a limitation of the software
Are you able to customize where you want the transition to happen?
Yup! It's detailed in the video man
How well does it do with hip hop? Rock? EDM seems fairly simple but it there’s so many other genres where the beats can get funky lol
Oh! If you're going to use the tracks for Rekordbox, you'll need to export them too using the Rekordbox export setting
@@djcarlo what is the purpose of transition on dj studio and is it can export with our mix?
OMG This is amazing. This is going to help me select songs much easier. 5 Starts for this software. And DJ Carlito, you explain things so easy and with fun also. Keep up the good work…
Thank you so much Emilio! I'm really happy you like the video, and the new program!
Apparently it sucks at picking out tracks that are in key with each other.
Hello Carlo, what is the setting in rekordbox for the smooth BPM switch?
Answered you in the other video!
fckn gamechanger, have been searching for a tool like this for years
And here it is! And they're consistently updating it so it just gets better and better!
Well, adjusting the songs is still very important. A human touch is still needed at times :)
Every time I make a TH-cam Mix off TH-cam Urls... it does not allow me to export like you showed in this video. keeps telling me that there was an error in the project
Thats strange! Try to see what the error report says. Maybe one of the tracks is unavailable?
All it says is that there is an error in the project... So I tried making a new one with 3 different TH-cam urls.. same thing, doesn't work and im on a 2020 Mac Mini M1.. left a message for them to see why that is..
I used this app a month ago for weddign backgroung mix. I was really impressed with output.
Bingo! I feel like that's the best kind of use for it.
@djcarlo recently purchased but dj studio is not detecting my rekordbox playlists, any advice?
That's really odd! Normally it should instantly detect your Rekordbox playlists. Try loading them in manually via drag and drop methods?
Hey DJ Carlo! Thank you for all your videos and helpful tips especially for beginners like myself! Can you do a video on beginner lighting set ups? Thank you!
Hmmm, that one might be out of my field of coverage as I don't set up my lights when I DJ (it wasn't a thing in The Philippines). TH-cam was my biggest help when it came to doing my own home lighting set ups for my studio, so have a gander at other tutorials around here too!
Thank you so much! I definitely will. And of course, I’ll keep looking at your videos to keep learning new ways to be a better DJ. Cheers!
This makes me nervous, but I knew it was coming! Gotta up my game and keep playing that saxophone!
Oh yes! Imagine using this to create a mix set for you to play the sax over. You can have a one man concert!
Hey dj carlo what was the link to that edm playlist in the beginning?
You can try typing in the username (the bunch of numbers) and it shows up! It's a really short playlist though

Is it possible to recover hot cues on rekordbox V6 when exporting to Mp3 320 kpbs after an auto DJ studio mix

Oh dang, I'm not sure if it is! Let me double check, but DJ.Studio might have overwritten the hot cues.

Is this compatible with Serato Dj?
Yes! With all software!

Hi DJ Carlo i cannot use my beatport streaming playlist ? That will save me some times :P
Unfortunately, no. It's not integrated for Beatport yet. You'll need to have the actual files in your laptop :)

Yup! The spiritual successor to Mix Meister so to speak haha
Curious how it does with different BPM jumps and open format applications?
It auto adjusts! Watch the middle part of the video; there's an example with a large BPM jump
Cool thanks'! My bad. I should of watched the whole video :) @@djcarlo
About unconstant bpm on old black betty and back beat on thunderstruck
If I recall, DJ.Studio actually released an updated a few months back that addressed that issue! The program now recognizes fluctuating BPMs
So all the time learning beat-matching looping and drop mixing was for nothing 😞
Oh ho not quite! As much as this program CAN do it, it doesn't have quite the same impact as cutting it up live. There's a bunch of things that it can't emulate 😄
If it source songs on TH-cam, does that mean the quality is bad?
It's not the best, hence why id recommend using your own songs, but if you're making a mixtape for friends or people who won't play them on big speakers, they're great!
Exporting to wave bit dump if you added mp3's
Well, of course, but its smart if you use WAV in the first place!

Bingo! This is great for making mixtapes where DJs aren't appreciated, like at a cocktail bar or restaurant or hypebeast clothing shop haha

It can make Loop to extend it!

why i cant export this to my serato dj lite?, when i export and analyze again on serato dj lite,, i see no cue points :/
Hmmmm, from what i recall, DJ.Studio only gives cue points to Rekordbox. It doesn't do that for Serato Lite unfortunately; Lite is also very limited
What about an app for remixes? Not full on music production just remixing existing songs into new songs, adding instruments etc. Any app yet?
I still believe it's here to help, and not to completely take over.
it’s amazing, but a bit freaky..

It is amusing to consider how, in an age of abundant opportunities to utilise our time, activities such as mixing tunes or appreciating artwork are deemed too time-consuming to indulge in. This is the paradox of plenty.
Could I do this in my DAW?
Possibly yes!

Pressing the delete button on your keyboard should take care of that 😄
What if you want to use to playlist to create one mix?
You can re arrange the mix to fit your playlist. It'll give you that option
Theyre consistently updating, so im sure things will just keep getting better and better with DJ.Studio! 😄
Hey buddy. I am a teacher. What video software do you use for your videos?

Is there a maximum amount of songs it can load from a Spotify playlist?

Ah yes, but this is a more sophisticated version of it. Can do a lot more too!
Add Rock Me by Johnny Nash, then Crazy For You by Madonna, Joe Le Taxi, I Wanna Know What Love is, Roxette, Human Nature, I wanna be your man, The girl is mine etc
Sleep on that 😊
This is an entirely new paradigm I've never thought of for DJ.Studio! Wonderful tracks too, the ones you've mentioned. Can't wait to see what your mix sounds like!
Dj Studio is a good software but I wish it supported mp4 local music videos.
Maybe that's the next step! It's already got TH-cam for music videos, so just maybe, local ones will be in a future update!
But why wouldn't they put stems for transition options... Ugh.. so cool so close yet so far
Give it some time :) I'm sure they'll implement it soon!
Thats exctly the program the I was looking for. THANKS Master Carlo
It's a pretty great program overall! Very useful in multiple ways!
why so if I may ask?
Can you add play list. To Serato
From what I know, yes!
Let's say they launch another product saying online DJ, where we select languages and genres and event style. And the software creates it's own mixes and play??
Oh that would be amazing! Though you can sort of do that with the Spotify and TH-cam playlists option.
amazing. No controller needed??
Nope! All done by timeline and algorithm in DJ.Studio! 😆
Wait this not the same type of program that Djay pro use?
Not quite! It's fairly different in the sense that it's not really a live-mixing type of program. There is an automix in both I believe, but DJ.Studio's is far more refined
Welcome back, it’s been a hot minute
I haven't gone anywhere! Still releasing videos as always!
does this work for songs with lyrics?
does the software understand where chorus starts and ends?
can it identify specific moments in songs?
Surprisingly yes! Though it's not perfectly tuned for all songs in that sense. If you check the beginning, there's a few samples that use popular songs, and it can recognize where to really mix them in and out. It does require a little extra input from you as the DJ though
I was slightly anxious about it, but after trying it out it seems we'll be good for another few years as djs. The time it will do correct phrase mixing automatically its over.
They do continuously release updates and upgrades, so it honestly keeps getting better and better!
Running the trial version for next 2 weeks How do you export the spotify mix it currently says 'export options for local music only'....
Oh you can't. TH-cam/Spotify only allows you to render the mix onto an online file due to copyright reasons
Does it work with SoundCloud ?
As far as I know, no, not yet
