Thank you very much for this video I did some electronics repair years ago just picked up an equalizer and some speakers The Equalizer doesn't work. And this video is very helpful just wish I had the other videos

Very important and helpful video. Thanks for sharing. The sucker mishap is actually a bonus - vintage audio is fragile and any novice trying to do this job most likely wouldn't know the work around you shared. I'm about to open up my series 3 EQ. I hope it's pretty much the same.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have a pair of Ser iv since 1982 that now have foam rot. Now know what needs to be done with Eq after the foam surround repair ( watched that vid). My opinion - Bose are great speakers, not the , greatest but more than good enough for me.
Most people that hate bose, rarely have heard a 901, or a 901 with eq .. they are really not bad speakers at all

That cool I'm happy to help. We need the Speaker Guys to help us survive. HELP we are going down. Still charging the same rates we did thirty years ago, people won't pay more . I have extensive knowledge earned the hard way over the last 40+ years. I'd like to share, but I cant do that living under a bridge.

In your opinion, which would be the best EQ for an upgrade. Meaning I'll always use their OEM EQ, but then I want to install another 6 to12+ key plus. Which do you recommend?
Do you know the voltage of the transformer?
Mine is broken and i cant't test it and or find the information anywehere on the internet.
What is the exact output ac voltage of the power transformer sir?..also the value of C4 & C3 capacitors?
Can you repair my Bose media center. The power is not turning off and the CD/DVD player is not working?
I have one that won't power up. I am using a second one that I bought years ago and I hope it keeps going. I actually have 901 Series 1 but never got the EQ that was supposed to come with it because the guy lost it in a move.
ghostownaproach get the eq, make sure it’s a series 1 eq. It’s worth it that series 1 is probably the best one they made
@@MichelLinschoten Thanks, I'd love to but they are hard to find and often sold "as is" for too much $. There is a modern after market EQ that is supposed to be a good replacement for original Bose EQs but they also are expensive without getting to hear it first...
Do you sell Bose 901 series 4 equalizers and your cost to sell me one
I just replaced the dry rotted foam holding the cones on my 901 Series IV. They sounded great at first, but listening carefully, I heard a low kind of grinding, crackling sound. When I take the EQ out of the loop, the strange sound disappears. Is this the reason for the repair in this video? He didn't describe the symptoms he was addressing. (The Bose website is useless.) Has anyone done this repair and had improved sound? Thanks.
18 total drivers it only takes one rubbing to do this. I have repaired dozens of 901's that were DIY without shimming the VC's. We need help to survive this Economic Takedown corporate is taking out all the family owned businesses that are still around. We can't help people solve their speaker problems living under a bridge.
Texasound is there a way to center the cones without cutting into the dustcaps?
Don't bother repairing the old unit and its limited range. Buy the MiniDsp unit and improve the sound of the 901's
