I can't remember exactly how the two fishermen survived, but I watched something about it a while ago. From what I remember, it was a father and son who had gone fishing for the day. They saw the tsunami racing towards them. One of them quickly started to throw down the anchor, but it was 160m so way too short to stay on top of the tsunami. I think the rope either snapped or one of them had an epiphany and cut the rope, but they survived by riding the wave rather than letting it crash over them.
I read that if a mega-tsunami reaches 1km high, it could be classified as a super mega-tsunami.

All these disasters somehow repeatedly convey that this Earth is not a permanent dwelling place.
Seeing these massive destructions keeps on reminding the words "My home is in Heaven. I'm just travelling through this world.", Philippians 3:20 "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there".
