Our friend who grew up with her said she was "a big girl".. bone structure-wise. Easy to get called fat in modeling

Like so many things that burn hot, Margaux lit up, burned bright, white hot, then sadly she flickered out and she was gone.

@@orion8835 Lipstick is a cult movie. And she's good in it. Unforgettable picture. After this one, it's true that she made poor choices when it comes to acting, Mariel became THE actress of the family. Margaux, the model.

@@orion8835 I think she’s better than Keanu. I don’t dislike him personally (I don’t know him personally!), but his delivery grates & makes me cringe. I still watched all 3 John Wick films, though!

Having Mariel in the movie did her in. I think if it wasn't for that she'd have gotten past it. For someone completely untrained and untried she wasn't terrible. But suddenly a new talented Hemingway was out there and she practically vanished.

  • @orion8835

Jack Hemingway was reported by insiders to be a rather a filthy, lunatic addict pretending to be normal in the extreme shadow of his very grandiose author father. He clearly suffered a strange kind of abuse by his father. The family perpetuated a lot of mental health behavioral problems. The entire Sun Valley thing wasn’t what it seemed. Sex abuse, raging screaming fights, control issues. It’s terribly sad what eventuated for Margaux. True she was a somewhat mediocre actress with a strange speaking voice that really was not terribly appealing, yet was adorable in singing. Looks and poise wise she was a knockout and that got her very far. She also inherited strong athletic qualities. She had a very weird childhood with just too much nature trail environ crap hiding a bunch of secrets and abuses. The epileptic aspect is a real handicap which was not handled well by herself as an adult. “Running from Crazy” documentary really shows a lot including the reveal that Muffet and Margaux were sexually abused by their father. We have the photographic glamour of Margaux as well as her films and tv appearances. I think her death by suicide was tragic and almost predictable as so many people in her clan met this end. I’m glad Mariel has survived to live beyond this cycle and ended the generational mental health disordered patterns.

I remember it like it was yesterday, when she walked into Gristedes Market on 65 street, and Madison Avenue, in the beginning of the Summer in 1979. I was 21 1/2 years old. It was early morning, and only me, who was a bread distributor owner, and she entering the store to buy flowers at the entrance of the store. And yes, we both looked straight at each other, and then she spoke, and I was tongue tied for the only time in my life when it came to a woman. Yes, she was trying to start a conversation with me, but I was in awe. I did say something, but who remembers. She spoke to me for about 10 minutes, about the weather. She asked if I worked out. And she likes to jog in the morning. But our two smiles at each other said it all. We both knew we both liked each other. When she left, the store Cashier Jose, stated what happened. She was trying to pick you up, since she had just gotten divorced. I knew it too, but I just froze for awhile, and then finally spoke to her. Jose knew her since she lived in the building above. I just remember those eyes. Look, I was young and she was older then me by 4 years. I was coming off a relationship that hurt me. If I was older, who knows. For the ten minutes, I felt the tenderness in her heart. I remember the following year she got married. Some older French director.
It was so tragic the way she died. RIP Margaux.🙏🙏🙏I will never forget her sweet demeanor.

Margaux had such a disarmingly beautiful face and the kind of camera-proof features that come along once in a generation. The thick eyebrows, the full lips and those cheek bones are what get to me. A tall, visually stunning woman with a long patrician neck such as her was destined for a life as someone's artistic muse at the very least. I truly believe some people are just born to serve as visual muses and she was the personification of that. It is a crying shame that her inner world never reflected the stunning outward beauty that she possessed. By the way, a renowned Hollywood beauty of the Golden Age, Joan Crawford, was also referred to as being camera-proof in her heyday ('30s and '40s) and her thick eyebrows would become legendary. There's something about those brows that frame these young women's faces in a way that sets them apart.

Ps no wonder everyone was in awe when gia walked into the scene in 1980. Gia looks like the spitting inage of Margo except she was a Burnette. They both had a lot in common. They both refused to be anything but what they were. At least in the beginning.
And they were so strikingly beautiful that the industry just wanted them and show them off.
Margo being the first true supermodel getting a million dollar contract changed things in the fashion industry and what was considered beautiful.
It's tragic really both their stories of fame are a cautionary tale fir young beautiful girls with stars in their eyes.

Knieve in the biggest world? A absolutely real beauty! How sad she never realised? Still to this day..? It's all about body appearance , the models of today, very hard to go against your profession and age? How many of you beautiful models, want fries burgers, fried chicken? At least let your public know the sacrifices you have to make being a models? Along side your wealth? And sacrifices, and if you think it's worth it? No disrespect to anyone's career! It's all about choice. You models look amazing do your jobs Great. But keep your public informed in the good and bad side of your profession...

"She was one of the very first supermodels" heard that said so many times about so many models, it loses its status. Anyway, I find both sisters to be slightly above average, and certainly not extraordinarily beautiful.
To me, it's Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Gia, Janice Dickinson, Iman, Andy MacDowell, Beverly Johnson, Rita Hayworth, Gene Tierney, Marilyn Monroe...they had that certain something that stood out, capturing your attention, making you gaze at them.
