We WALKED to FOUNTAINS ABBEY and BACK AGAIN!

- In May Dan and I stayed in a country cottage in Sawley, a few miles from Ripon and after several days' worth of cakes, the delights of Betty's Tea Rooms, ales and a variety of good Yorkshire grub, we thought wouldn't it be fun to get back to health and fitness and walk long, winding country lanes up to the Fountains Abbey estate, spend a WHOLE DAY walking around that and then walk all the way back to our cottage! We even saw cattle in a field along the lane though fortunately it was their milking time and neither of us were wearing red so the bull(s) left us alone! After many miles, our feet were tired that evening and much Yorkshire tea was drunk!

We had a lovely time xxx
@@danielevans28 so we did! 😺
We’re a good hour and a bit from the Abby but that walk looks fantastic and would love to do it …we have walked miles over the years and yet never done that one
@@AmandaWhittaker-g7h it's so worth it. There's so much to see, you could spend the whole day there and still not see everything. It's a place that keeps on giving. The cafe was reasonably-priced too. We had a lovely lunch. ❤️
@@catevansartist Thank you so much for the lovely reply .I had a milder heart attack in March of this year which took me totally by surprise …these are places would like to walk these days after doing a lot of the Cleveland way with my husband who had a new knee last year …we’re not bad for our ages but are looking for more gentle walks ….there is so much to offer on our door steps …thank you again x
@@AmandaWhittaker-g7h a real pleasure . . . and I hope you are both better soon. My MIL had a double hip replacement as well as carpal tunnel correction on both hands and I know that it takes time to fully heal. The gentle walks should also help you recover some heart health. Sending you both every best wish in your endeavours. xx
