That’s a huge site, imagine what it looked like when built. Religion then of course was everything, with people travelling far and wide . Beautiful shots and fantastic weather for it too 😃👍🏻🤗❤️

Such a masterpiece, I’m ashamed that we leave these magnificent places to ruin, or even let them get that far… and all because a king long ago tried to do away with Roman Catholic and declared himself head of the Church of England.

@@ladyintheskyuk that’s a mistake I make on my Facebook group, I tell people where I’m at a lot of the time, but then don’t show them the videos for weeks/months 🤦🏻♂️ I hope to get out too for 3/4 more videos, then il be good until the begging of next summer. Thinking it’ll be a bad winter after the year we’ve had.
@SightsWithSteve I think we're in for a bad winter, too. I have footage in the reserve library through to March 😀 looking forward to the autumn 🍂 colours and those frosty days 😀 I think it was you who advised me on saving footage for no fly days. So thank you very much for that 🙏

So neither Dronescene nor the CAA NATS maps show UAS restrictions at Fountains (which surprises me, since the National Trust had about a kilometre radius of the Abbey blocked off when I last checked those websites). Did you get permission from NT to fly there? Looks like you took off directly from the site. Do you know about the National Trust's policy forbidding any recreational flying over and from their properties? Grey Arrows has a huge long running topic on their restrictive policies, and their overreach. Might be useful to acquaint yourself with it. Great video, though I'd have liked to see a site overview shot, all the way down to Surprise View, at the Studley Roger water gardens end.

@ladyintheskyuk Apologies. It looked like your TOAL was right next to the Abbey. So it looks like the car park at Fountains lane is a possible public take off point. I'll have to investigate when next there.

Flying over is fine, assuming you can keep TOAL and are on public land.
