I spent 12 years in prison myself. He reminds me of me. First time in a Prison Camp fighting fires as well. That was state prison for 2 years. Next was the Feds for 10 straight. Been out for about 15 years now myself and have a family, with two young daughters by my wife. I still wake up believing I'm back in prison. I know I have a lot of baggage with those experiences. I don't ever talk to my wife about it. Eric made me realize that I need to unburden a lot I'm holding onto right now. I'm going to seek counseling and see where that takes me.
One of the most major problems in my marriage is LACK of communication. Of course men are different from women but I crave hearing my husband's feelings. Good 4u4 realizing you need to talk & I'm sure your wife & daughters (one day) will appreciate it also.. Good luck!

Unfortunately that would go against the prison profit motive, so lobbyists would convince congress to kill any such program before it even gets voted on..
I can feel his PTSD. Having PTSD myself.....high clavicular breathing, a constant feeling of respiratory pressure, fight or flight, on edge, too much adrenalin for your size, intrusive and vivid flashbacks... He seems like a good soul..God Bless him

My father is still healthy and strong at 83 my mother is healthy and flexible at 76 and my Grandparents died in their early 90's. No offense to this guy Eric at all I just pointed out a trend in black women today that's all. I wish Eric the best. Now I agree he's probably healthier than you for sure as I probably am.
To this day, I watched at least 15 videos on this channel, and I have to say, I’ve never commented on any of them, but I can’t let this one go. I read the comments and everybody agrees, even outside of the prison context, if I heard this man speak in a conference or anything I would’ve listened till the end. So well spoken, so structured and collected. Gotta respect this man for all the stuff he went through, and more importantly, the way he went through it.

@@CMoore8539 There's a much bigger problem and that are the structures put in place to perpetuate this issue. You can look after yourself all you want but if your environment isn't conducive to that, this will keep happening. He unknowingly touched on the issue - he started recognising there are structures put in place to produce this effect. And if he keeps pulling back the layers, that road will lead him to the history of America.

I worked in Corrections for 24 years. I observed so much wasted talent. He is absolutely correct. The Correctional Facilities don't realize people serving their sentences need to get something behind the walls to build on, so their stay won't become a revolving door. Corrections is a money business, so it's something greedy powerful investors love. The reason is why State ran Correctional Facilities have become private. Now that the corruption, money plus powerful work together, it has become a Gold Mine. If a person has served or worked within the Correctional Facilities for a period , it has an effect on both in some fashion or form. I pray he accomplishes all he is working towards.
Thank you for saying that. Most people have no idea about the shareholder effect on prison policy. Thankfully, things at the top are shaking down a bit and people on the ground are gaining momentum through their own experiences and coming up with much better plans that actually can work for the benefit of all. Dude reminds me of my father and brother at the same time. My pops went to prison and has an Ivy-League-educated son and 4 successful girls after. He still worries about that conviction that’s 40 years old. Rooting for this man. You still got hella time to tell these stories. Love.

I disagree. Prison reform needs to be reformed. Ghettos need to be dissolved. He shouldn't learn on his 19th trip that prison isn't the place to be and that the environment he was released into, the streets, was bad as well. That's his message. Yes he's intelligent and maintains a good attitude now, after 19 trips to prison and being raised in a bad environment.

I thought the exact same thing as well! Such an authentic approach he could reach so many at risk youths and be an amazing practitioner if he was interested in pursuing that type of work in his life he would absolutely smash it being a youth worker.

Scott Williams I’ve overcome much and am very successful. However, I’m still very much affected from my childhood environment. My colleagues don’t know I seek therapy and take meds to treat my emotional and mental wounds. I come from generations of poverty, drug abuse, and violence. I carry a significant amount of weight on my shoulders to “break the cycle”. I may wear my suit and tie and work around “the privileged” but trust me, I am VERY different from them. Where we come from played a significant role. Please understand, a hard start in life will take a toll on anyone. Don’t let what you see fool you. The smile and composed demeanor you see from those that have beaten adversity, is often an act. Rather than argue against people who talk about how environment played a round on them, I suggest just having some humility and just listen.
It's amazing to me how self-aware this man is. That takes a level of consciousness that today's generations will probably never experience. His intense passion about it is next level stuff.

He speaks so intelligently and I was intrigued from the start. I actually enjoyed hearing everything he had to say. Not to mention, he’s extremely handsome!
He's got so much pain in his voice, at so many points he sounds like he's about to break down a cry. When someone talks alot and breathes hard when doing it, they got alot to get off their chest. Most people wouldn't listen or wouldn't want to hear about it or they would listen for a few minutes then change the subject and you'd never be able to get it off your chest so it will build back up and you have to start over holding it in. I'm glad this guy got this off his chest, he really needed someone to listen. It's so hard to deal with holding everything in and having no one to listen.
out of 4 times (im only on #3 aka this one) but im going to take a wild guess and say #4 isnt any different. But out of all the time he's been in front of this camera with mark Listening, he has probably been asked 3 questions, if that. I agree whole heartedly with what you said and im so glad it's not just Mark that's listening and learning from Eric, its millions of people. I think this man should turn his life story into an hour or 2 long speech that he can go around the country to college's or highschools and tell to children who can hear these things before they happen and understand there are so many slippery slopes in this life and the one that makes you fall can be the tiniest thing that seems sooooo insignificant, but after you recover and stand back up at the bottom of the mountain, in hindsight you see that fall is what caused the whole slope.
I Respect Eric on a level that I reserve for few individuals. His ability to articulate his story, his unmatched humility and honesty. Honestly, I knew early on he was going to go into great detail and hold himself accountable, but mannnn, some of the things he admitted about himself not just his actions but some of the feelings he had about himself and his own Race, just WOWW!! This ONE Trait, his self-awareness/honesty/self-accountability, is a LARGE part of his progress, maybe the largest. Im not sure human beings are capable of giving this man the respect he deserves. Also, he still finds himself, UNINTENTIONALLY, starting a half truth story and then immediately thats when you hear him say "mann you know what, *let me back up* or *actually this happened*" and that will probably never stop happening but SO LONG as he continues to stop, go back, and tell the whole truth then there truly are no heights this man cannot reach! It's truly intoxicating to listen to him speak so candidly, articulate, shamelessly, and how he's consumed with love for those who will just give him their attention and be honest with him. I couldn't even say enough good things about Eric in a 3,000 page Novel. I am going to visit these videos of Eric quite often because I hope i'm closer and closer to his level of mental maturity because that's an important Goal and it won't only increase the quality of life for you but for every single person aroudn you!!
I have watched many, many of these interviews, and Eric is absolutely unbelievable. He's amazing, he is crazy cool to listen to, I CAN NOT believe how well he expresses himself. I am an addict and have heard so many people tell their story, but this dude is SPECIAL. He has taken the English language and made it his bitch, I could listen to him for hours. He has crazy genetics though as someone who's been working out for almost a decade, not just anyone can look like this naturally. You can see especially in his arms he has incredible muscle insertions. Give him one steroid cycle and he'd be like Ronnie Coleman level lol.
And when I say "this" I mean specifically when he was in his prime, based on his story I'm assuming he used to look better than this at some point. Obviously for his age it's remarkable regardless of genetics.
Eric is amazing..he can pass for mid 30s...imagine if he didnt have a drug problem and prior arrest..who knows how far he could of gone in life..honestly he still has a chance because of his mind and amazing condition..he reminds me of my "smart" uncle which made bad decisions in his 20s & did 10 years in prison, came out & got his CDL..from there he started driving trucks..later got his own Rig.. years later he now owns his own logistics company and employs over 50 workers .now we call him the "rich" uncle....lol..Eric if your listening it's not too late..
@paisleyyama the sun preserves the skin especially with people of color.. the soap called "corcraft" that they use has no chemicals which helps clean the skin as well as gives the skin a youthful look..Im a retired correction officer and know the ins and outs..

The overwhelming majority of inmates are intelligent. They don't go to prison for being dumb. If it wasn't for poverty and mental illness we'd have 2,000 prisoners in America instead of 2 million
Should have went to the army honestly. Whole life would have been different. I'm not even a military man, but its plain to see. He likes being trained physically.
@Eric Brad did you even listen to the guy story? His first time going to prison/jail it was fireman's Work Camp. He said he kept going back expecting it to kind of be the same like that. In the conditions were just getting worse. He said he like going out there helping people fighting fires eating good. He said he was excited to go to prison because he went in there looking like Alfalfa and coming out looking like The Rock. Sounds like he should have been in the military and didn't even know it. Didn't really have the option growing up in that environment idolizing the wrong type of people. Again I'm not even military dude myself I can just read between the lines of what this man is saying. And if you look at this prior videos, the path he went down this time wasn't a good one I believe he said he ended up doing gay for pay p****. Which is horrible because people take advantage of him in that some stuff he had to encounter.
Eric Brad I don’t have to have been in either to know the similarities of the military and prison. I know from reading and observing from a distance that prison and the military are both structured environments and people are told when and what time to get up in the morning and line up for count and go to bed at night. And both prisoners and military members could potentially come home with PTSD from seeing and experiencing traumatic incidents. I know that military members hate that I would call ex prisoners veterans, but that’s what they are.
I remember when this channel was just starting and it had little subscribers and the interviews seemed odd, but now this channel has blown up and the interviews are unique and intriguing.
Eric holds the best interviews, very compelling stories. You can tell he has plenty more to tell, you definitely should have him come on and discuss different topics each time. Great Man
"That's what motivated me knowing what it used to be like. But it had changed before my very eyes. And it took a long time for me to see that change take place." That is haunting. This interview was so much more than I expected, I have admit I wondered how could that happen? Now i understand. Eric is a powerful speaker, I hope he continues to enjoy peace in his life.
That was a real man not speaking from a script just giving his testimony in a bottom line up front and honest way. He dissected the system from his perspective and diagnosed the cause of so many return inmates... he has great potential as a youth mentor or even an adult inmate mentor. He seems like a good man who desires greatness, I pray he finds it!

But anyway, it came, and I hope his life is positive from here forward. The guy is jacked like a brick house! He took care of himself physically, and now he's looking after his mind and soul. I really enjoyed Eric’s 1st interview. This interview was equally has good! What a past he’s had! I think Eric would be an excellent speaker for kids in school as a deterrent that crime drugs and gangs don’t pay! Eric is such a fir good looking guy!

My father is still healthy and strong at 83 my mother is healthy and flexible at 76 and my Grandparents died in their early 90's. To this day, I watched at least 15 videos on this channel, and I have to say, I’ve never commented on any of them, but I can’t let this one go. I read the comments and everybody agrees, even outside of the prison context, if I heard this man speak in a conference or anything I would’ve listened till the end. So well spoken, so structured and collected. Gotta respect this man for all the stuff he went through, and more importantly, the way he went through it.

I worked in Corrections for 24 years. I observed so much wasted talent. He is absolutely correct. The Correctional Facilities don't realize people serving their sentences need to get something behind the walls to build on, so their stay won't become a revolving door. Corrections is a money business, so it's something greedy powerful investors love. The reason is why State ran Correctional Facilities have become private. Now that the corruption, money plus powerful work together, it has become a Gold Mine. If a person has served or worked within the Correctional Facilities for a period , it has an effect on both in some fashion or form. I pray he accomplishes all he is working towards.

Thank you for saying that. Most people have no idea about the shareholder effect on prison policy. Thankfully, things at the top are shaking down a bit and people on the ground are gaining momentum through their own experiences and coming up with much better plans that actually can work for the benefit of all. It is up to us.

I disagree. Prison reform needs to be reformed. Ghettos need to be dissolved. He shouldn't learn on his 19th trip that prison isn't the place to be and that the environment he was released into, the streets, was bad as well. That's his message. Yes he's intelligent and maintains a good attitude now, after 19 trips to prison and being raised in a bad environment.
Stevie Sosa you cant dissolve ghettos. People need to educate and strive. Work and pay taxes that pay for cops, schools, etc. you can’t help people who don’t want to help themselves. Scott Williams I’ve overcome much and am very successful. However, I’m still very much affected from my childhood environment. My colleagues don’t know I seek therapy and take meds to treat my emotional and mental wounds. I come from generations of poverty, drug abuse, and violence. I carry a significant amount of weight on my shoulders to “break the cycle”. I may wear my suit and tie and work around “the privileged” but trust me, I am VERY different from them. Where we come from played a significant role. Please understand, a hard start in life will take a toll on anyone. Don’t let what you see fool you. The smile and composed demeanor you see from those that have beaten adversity, is often an act. Rather than argue against people who talk about how environment played a round on them, I suggest just having some humility and just listen.
It's amazing to me how self-aware this man is. That takes a level of consciousness that today's generations will probably never experience. His intense passion about it is next level stuff.

He's got so much pain in his voice, at so many points he sounds like he's about to break down a cry. When someone talks alot and breathes hard when doing it, they got alot to get off their chest. Most people wouldn't listen or wouldn't want to hear about it or they would listen for a few minutes then change the subject and you'd never be able to get it off your chest so it will build back up and you have to start over holding it in. I'm glad this guy got this off his chest, he really needed someone to listen. It's so hard to deal with holding everything in and having no one to listen.
out of 4 times (im only on #3 aka this one) but im going to take a wild guess and say #4 isnt any different. But out of all the time he's been in front of this camera with mark Listening, he has probably been asked 3 questions, if that. I agree whole heartedly with what you said and im so glad it's not just Mark that's listening and learning from Eric, its millions of people. I think this man should turn his life story into an hour or 2 long speech that he can go around the country to college's or highschools and tell to children who can hear these things before they happen and understand there are so many slippery slopes in this life and the one that makes you fall can be the tiniest thing that seems sooooo insignificant, but after you recover and stand back up at the bottom of the mountain, in hindsight you see that fall is what caused the whole slope.
I Respect Eric on a level that I reserve for few individuals. His ability to articulate his story, his unmatched humility and honesty. Honestly, I knew early on he was going to go into great detail and hold himself accountable, but mannnn, some of the things he admitted about himself not just his actions but some of the feelings he had about himself and his own Race, just WOWW!! This ONE Trait, his self-awareness/honesty/self-accountability, is a LARGE part of his progress, maybe the largest. Im not sure human beings are capable of giving this man the respect he deserves. Also, he still finds himself, UNINTENTIONALLY, starting a half truth story and then immediately thats when you hear him say "mann you know what, *let me back up* or *actually this happened*" and that will probably never stop happening but SO LONG as he continues to stop, go back, and tell the whole truth then there truly are no heights this man cannot reach! It's truly intoxicating to listen to him speak so candidly, articulate, shamelessly, and how he's consumed with love for those who will just give him their attention and be honest with him. I couldn't even say enough good things about Eric in a 3,000 page Novel. I am going to visit these videos of Eric quite often because I hope i'm closer and closer to his level of mental maturity because that's an important Goal and it won't only increase the quality of life for you but for every single person aroudn you!!
I have watched many, many of these interviews, and Eric is absolutely unbelievable. He's amazing, he is crazy cool to listen to, I CAN NOT believe how well he expresses himself. I am an addict and have heard so many people tell their story, but this dude is SPECIAL. He has taken the English language and made it his bitch, I could listen to him for hours. He just breaks my heart one minute, and inspires me the next... Supremely intelligent being. I hope he makes it this time, and I hope enjoys the peace and love that he so desperately deserves.. He has crazy genetics though as someone who's been working out for almost a decade, not just anyone can look like this naturally. You can see especially in his arms he has incredible muscle insertions. Give him one steroid cycle and he'd be like Ronnie Coleman level lol.
And when I say "this" I mean specifically when he was in his prime, based on his story I'm assuming he used to look better than this at some point. Obviously for his age it's remarkable regardless of genetics.
I know people who have taken steroids for years and eat right and everything and never end up looking like this guy. Life isn't fair sadly.

Eric is amazing..he can pass for mid 30s...imagine if he didnt have a drug problem and prior arrest..who knows how far he could of gone in life..honestly he still has a chance because of his mind and amazing condition..he reminds me of my "smart" uncle which made bad decisions in his 20s & did 10 years in prison, came out & got his CDL..from there he started driving trucks..later got his own Rig.. years later he now owns his own logistics company and employs over 50 workers .now we call him the "rich" uncle....lol..Eric if your listening it's not too late..

I’m surprised at the level of this man’s intelligence. He was smart enough to be so many things other than an inmate. It’s also clearly obvious he just wanted to talk. He needed someone to listen. I’m glad this interview was a bit of a respite for him. I wish him Godspeed. ❤️

They do a lot of reading in prison. Even if you're just reading novels, you're gaining some sort of knowledge.
The overwhelming majority of inmates are intelligent. They don't go to prison for being dumb. If it wasn't for poverty and mental illness we'd have 2,000 prisoners in America instead of 2 million

Should have went to the army honestly. Whole life would have been different. I'm not even a military man, but its plain to see. He likes being trained physically.
Yes! He seems like someone that needed guidance & structure. He would have made it far in the military.
Well he is a veteran. Prison is run a lot like a military.
@Eric Brad did you even listen to the guy story? His first time going to prison/jail it was fireman's Work Camp. He said he kept going back expecting it to kind of be the same like that. In the conditions were just getting worse. He said he like going out there helping people fighting fires eating good. He said he was excited to go to prison because he went in there looking like Alfalfa and coming out looking like The Rock. Sounds like he should have been in the military and didn't even know it. Didn't really have the option growing up in that environment idolizing the wrong type of people. Again I'm not even military dude myself I can just read between the lines of what this man is saying. And if you look at this prior videos, the path he went down this time wasn't a good one I believe he said he ended up doing gay for pay p****. Which is horrible because people take advantage of him in that some stuff he had to encounter.

Eric Brad I don’t have to have been in either to know the similarities of the military and prison. I know from reading and observing from a distance that prison and the military are both structured environments and people are told when and what time to get up in the morning and line up for count and go to bed at night. And both prisoners and military members could potentially come home with PTSD from seeing and experiencing traumatic incidents. I know that military members hate that I would call ex prisoners veterans, but that’s what they are.
I remember when this channel was just starting and it had little subscribers and the interviews seemed odd, but now this channel has blown up and the interviews are unique and intriguing.
Such fire and passion this man has. I hope he finds a productive outlet for it.
Eric holds the best interviews, very compelling stories. You can tell he has plenty more to tell, you definitely should have him come on and discuss different topics each time. Great Man

This interview was so much more than I expected, I have admit I wondered how could that happen? Now i understand. Eric is a powerful speaker, I hope he continues to enjoy peace in his life.
That was a real man not speaking from a script just giving his testimony in a bottom line up front and honest way. He dissected the system from his perspective and diagnosed the cause of so many return inmates... he has great potential as a youth mentor or even an adult inmate mentor. He seems like a good man who desires greatness, I pray he finds it!

I'm glad to read the comment below mine that says Eric is working with a writer to create a book of his life story. This guy has some impressive insight! Sadly, if only it came to him 30 yrs before. But anyway, it came, and I hope his life is positive from here forward. The guy is jacked like a brick house! He took care of himself physically, and now he's looking after his mind and soul. Awesome! I could listen to him for hours. What if he sat in a room with half a dozen young fellas and shared exactly what will happen if they don't straighten up and fly right NOW! I think he has a LOT to offer!
I sympathize with a lot of the people that come on here, but I REALLY want this guy to succeed and be happy. He's sincere, smart, and has the potential to actually make it!

Thank you Eric. You give me hope for not only my brother, but all those other individuals in and out of prison struggling. You give me hope that my brother will see that life has more for him and you also have awakened the desire for me to write to my brother. Ive yet to write him partly because I am angry and disappointed that this last time he went to prison he not only affected his life but the lives of his 3 children and all of us, his family. After listening to your interview I WANT to write him and give him some words of encouragement and some advice based on what you shared and truthfully I thought I’d never speak to him until he came out, but not anymore. I wish you all the best and hope to see more of you. The world needs beacons of God like you, continue to share you testimony it’s amazing! I really enjoyed Eric’s 1st interview. This interview was equally has good! What a past he’s had! I think Eric would be an excellent speaker for kids in school as a deterrent that crime drugs and gangs don’t pay! Eric is such a fir good looking guy!

I agree with a lot of what he says but to be surprised that prison isn't there to help you is unrealistic. It is a punishment.
@@CptInsano835 The way I see it prison is for rehabilitation, prison should help you. What good is a punishment if 50% reoffend anyway? that's a real statistic by the way.
@@dawidbylka2706 I get it, and if most offenders wanted to be rehabilitated maybe that would work. In theory I would love for prison to be an amazing place where all offenders go and get well.
