  • Been a long time coming! With the last piece of the puzzle in place, we can finally get some tracks on the asphalt.

    Very Interesting, looks like it can be simple to very complicated, whatever you want to do.

      Those are the best Wargames. Simple rules don't mean simple games. Another game with similar simple rules (in comparisson) is Kings of War wich is fantasy tabletop like the old Warhammer Fantasy (before Age of Sigma). It has pretty simple rules no fiddling with single models because you play with whole troops always. It makes for very cool battles. but with quite simple rules.

    It is a fun game. Nicely done sir.
    I used scrap mdf pieces to make my gates. Having a big table does allow for a longer n Curvy track.

    You can decide if you want to roll dices OR not. It is not mandatory. It is a very useful option sometimes 😀

    As far as I understood the rules, the hazard of a slide or spin is applied AFTER the shifts negate existing hazards. You can't negate hazards comming from slides/spins in the same roll. That's what makes them the risky moves.

    This was awesome!
    Weird. I never got my auto bell notification from YT. I almost missed this video completely.

      There was some weirdness with YT. They updated their system and I had to fight to get this posted and listed punlically.

    I am so happy seeing another wargaming (or cargaming, to be precise) video. Also - I think that any uncancelled hazards, slides and spins give a hazard token, so you cannot use them and cancel hazard tokens with remaining shifts.

    • @TheJoyofWargaming
      @TheJoyofWargaming  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not only that, but shifts used to cancel hazards apply first, then you apply shifts to change gears. Which from my reading indicates that you take a hazard every time you change gears.
      In other words, on any gear phase where you change gears, you will end up with at least one hazard token.

    Super happy to see the Mighty Wargaming Hands handling miniatures again, especially Gaslands. Awesome race, if somewhat lethal.
    One note, if I may offer my usual pedantic criticisms, is that ALL vehicles with six hazards suffer a wipeout during the wipeout step, no matter who's turn it is.
    Love the beads idea for a tire barrier. Did you mount it on styrene you cut down yourself, or does someone make bases like that? And speaking of - who makes those MDF gates?
    As always, thanks for the entertainment!

    • @TheJoyofWargaming
      @TheJoyofWargaming  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The hazard and shift mechanic has some really important subtleties to it. I didn't realize how important the order of operations are until recently.
      The tire bases are just cardboard. The beads have enough stability that if you cut the base tight enough, it's not an issue.
      Leslie the gates are part of an urban terrain pack of mdf from... TTcombat? It's the same guys who sell the containers in 10 mm scale. They do the terrain for Dropzone Commander.
      Which, by the way, has a couple of box sets of technicals - armed bikers and SUVs and pickups - that work really well if you use MicroMachine scale figs and terrain.

    so this is basiclly Death Race, the unofficial miniature game... That's cool

      @@TheJoyofWargaming I dove deeper into this rule set after watching this Video... seems like a decent entry point to wargaming like: I have some to cars on my attic and if I feel those are to nostalgic to give them a Mad Max makeover I can just buy a whole pack of em basiclly everywhere for a decent price

    Great arena. I got serious "Death Race" remake vibes.
    How big is the table/box? And what happend to that cute metal tin (in 6mm I think)?

      @TheJoyofWargaming  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The board is 2 foot by 3 foot, and I lost all my 2mm vehicles before I could paint them. I have tried to make three sets of templates, to no avail. At that size, I can't find anything that doesn't break immediately.

    You did the king dirty. He was in third gear. Now i only have the game here as reference, but doesn't that give him a turn on third gear? So he should have been able to pull a medium straight to pull him over the finish line and win it all. Instead you went straight to fourth gear after golden child so he could do that smash attack which won him the game.

    • @TheJoyofWargaming
      @TheJoyofWargaming  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I thought he was still in second gear after the wipeout. Did he manage a two-shift?

    • @hamadraith4637
      @hamadraith4637 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheJoyofWargaming Yeah, I just rewatched it, and he got two shifts, and a slide negated the slide and shifted up to third on the second shift.
