Towards the end of my single years, I finally got comfortable going on solo dates. I got tired of missing life because I didn’t have someone to go somewhere with. I used to love taking myself to the movies in the middle of the day. I really enjoyed myself and learned about myself. Those were times I felt God was speaking to me the most as well!

So much so, that other women and men ridiculed me for "not having a date" or "doing things alone". However, I was taught by my parents that if you are unable to enjoy your own company then do not expect it to be reciprocated. But as the years have gone by; I have gotten away from this portion of my life. So a HUGE thank you for showing up and showing out.

I started spending time by myself a few years ago by going to movie theaters and taking walks downtown. Simple things like that can get you in a comfortable state of spending quality time alone❤️

I do a lot of activities alone and it does help me tape into my feminity and stay in touch with myself. I’m 24 and I started solo dating in 2020 I realized I got tired of going on dates and guys always expecting something. So I intentionally date myself and set a realistic standard for myself. Abu Dhabi is basically "dead" due to heavy covid entry restrictions and requirements from malls, restaurants, theme parks, hotels, gyms and events. A Covid app called Al hosn is required which needs to contain your vaccination certifications and latest pcr test done in the UAE. I know all of this as I'm in the tourism industry. *sigh*
I love going on solo dates. And usually I choose a place that has beautiful views, scenery or vibe and I just sit there in silence and enjoy the views or vibe.

I feel it is a healthy thing to do and prepares you for the relationship with the man when he comes along .you will be well grounded in yourself doing this. I’m 21 and have been falling more in love with being alone. I naturally like it because I’m an introvert but as far as romantic relationship “norms” I struggled with.. First let me just say thank you for this video! I can really relate to this video. For some time I was dealing with the feeling of getting tired of wanting to do something and if a person you invite doesn’t want to to it or is unavailable and resulting to just not doing it. Or being self conscious and not comfortable of being on your own in public or the fact of sometimes people you don’t know wanting to approach you and not knowing how to exactly treat those situations. About two months ago I went out to dinner by myself and at the end of the day I was so proud of myself. I felt very empowered. I look forward to doing so again in the near future. I still deal with certain feelings and thoughts. But getting over certain feelings and thoughts does take time and working on them eventually helps us grow from it.

Hi Maya! I love your content and I love seeing more women date themselves. Twenty years ago and throughout my 30s; that was all I did. So much so, that other women and men ridiculed me for "not having a date" or "doing things alone". However, I was taught by my parents that if you are unable to enjoy your own company then do not expect it to be reciprocated. But as the years have gone by; I have gotten away from this portion of my life. So a HUGE thank you for showing up and showing out.

I started spending time by myself a few years ago by going to movie theaters and taking walks downtown. Simple things like that can get you in a comfortable state of spending quality time alone❤️

Abu Dhabi is basically "dead" due to heavy covid entry restrictions and requirements from malls, restaurants, theme parks, hotels, gyms and events. A Covid app called Al hosn is required which needs to contain your vaccination certifications and latest pcr test done in the UAE. I know all of this as I'm in the tourism industry. *sigh*

I am a 32 year old single woman as well - and I told my bestie that I will update my look so that I do not attract a guy that is anything like my ex (who dressed questionable and came with a lot of baggage). So I now dabble more in luxury and updated my look to attract someone more put together - I’ve even gotten into perfumes, all in the same year

I’m 21 and have been falling more in love with being alone. I naturally like it because I’m an introvert but as far as romantic relationship “norms” I struggled with.. First let me just say thank you for this video! I can really relate to this video. For some time I was dealing with the feeling of getting tired of wanting to do something and if a person you invite doesn’t want to to it or is unavailable and resulting to just not doing it. Or being self conscious and not comfortable of being on your own in public or the fact of sometimes people you don’t know wanting to approach you and not knowing how to exactly treat those situations. About two months ago I went out to dinner by myself and at the end of the day I was so proud of myself. I felt very empowered. I look forward to doing so again in the near future. I still deal with certain feelings and thoughts. But getting over certain feelings and thoughts does take time and working on them eventually helps us grow from it.

I’m a single woman in her mid 40s and am so ok with it. I have traveled extensively by myself and gotta say I love it. I do what I want and when I want.
