I remember Adam said during an interview that he almost lost the challenge when he gagged. And you gotta hand it to the dude because he's not a competitive eater by any means he just loves food and yet he's able to complete quite a few of these challenges
Years later and I still can't imagine him eating oysters after this challenge.

One of ny favorite stories about this challenge is how to get his mind off of the pain towards the end of the challenge. The crowd, like a fuckin movie started singing "I WANNA KNOW WHAT LOVE IS!!!" While the director was freaking out about the song not being able to be cleared.
That's why at the end, the challenge is all sped up, it's literally the whole bar singing to him lol.

2 dozen oysters with a pint of Guinness and afterwards 3 very dry gin martinis(2 with olives,1 with lemon peel) is one of the worlds great lunches.

Local spot near me, has a happy hour special from 4-6 on Tuesdays & Wednesdays in the summer time and it’s buck-a-suck oysters. I can easily eat 2 dozen of those no hesitation
I don't know why, but this reminds me of when Pumbaa and Timon from the Lion King had a snail eating contest.
I remember I used to hate oysters back in the day and thought they were disgusting, then one day after a few years I tried some at a sea food restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. I have no idea what happened, but to this day I enjoy oysters.
I was the same way with clams but then i found this really nice oriental place that had the best clams i ever had and i ate so many everytime i went there

I think I could do the burger from hell challenge lol. I love hot food and I have a very good heat palate I can handle a lot of heat. But not in the sense of Japanese food, so the sushi challenge he did, I’d die from that lol. The rings of fire I think it’s called or something but yeah the burger from hell I feel like I’d do fine it doesn’t even look that bad.
I love Raw oysters. I grew up vacationing on the gulf. Sadly I am in landlocked Missouri. Once in a while I will go eat them in a restaurant locally that I trust to fly them in daily. Because I don’t get raw Boyster’s often I think of last time I had them on vacation I had three cousins might’ve been for and if I had known that pandemic was coming I had six dozen!
There’s no way they clean behind that bar regularly.

They have to. If they didn’t, with the sheer amount of raw seafood going through that restaurant every day, there would be so many cases of food poisoning. It’s just so busy that it gets real messy real quick.

I love oysters, it's my favorite food to get when I go to good restaurants. That said, I can't eat more than a dozen.

When I used to work in a French kitchen, before I made it to hotline, we would have to shuck oysters on Garde Manger, and on a average Saturday I'd say we got 10 half a dozen orders, and maybe 4 or 5 dozen orders. We hated it. Slowed us down, and, it's a pain in the ass. Even with proper techniques. I couldn't imagine just one of these challenge orders. Start cussing.
