My dad has been a mechanic for decades, and he told me those plugs are not very reliable. He said the patches that go in the inside of the tire are more effective. Patches are what truck tire shops like Love’s use. I have had to patch my tires twice this past year, and it cost about $50 each. My patched tires are still good to this day.
If you near by truck stop ! Yes. But what happens if you in the middle of nowhere and had a flat cuz the run thru nail or screw ? And the nearest one 100+ miles down the road ? Call road service ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I got a nail in the exact same spot with the exact tool kit. But i couldnt force it in. So i used a hammer and broke it. Now i am wondering if its good or not. The other problem is that the tire ran out of air flat, now i cant air it
Had been driving since 80, done that and hadn't gotten one popped out on me just yet. I know patch are the best but if you in the middle of nowhere, nearest truck stop 100+ down the road, I don't think you want to call road service for a flat unless you company driver's 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Soon as you drive down the road that plug is going to pop out
Thats why I turn it a couple of times,without breaking it,so that it creates a knot or ball on the end of the plug, and no - it won t come out.

I’m not confident of this repair.
That's just a temporary fix till you get to a tire shop and have it properly repaired.
Use a drill next time to ream it
Can you do it on the steer tires ?
