- People have been asking for minimum budget for Nex in a duo, so here's a guide I whipped up on stream! Nex is much harder than people give her credit for and there's a lot of nuance to resetting her properly. This is the absolutely bare minimum gear I would go for a duo with, any lower and it's going to be incredibly difficult. Thralls are a must as well as completion of kandarin hard diary for the increased bolt chance.

Excellent guide. Few things I think are worth mentioning - Apologies if obvious, or if they've already been mentioned:
1. The Umbra tank should only try and step outside of Nex' range when she is not agro on them, otherwise she will drag and risk running towards them
2. If you fail the reset on P2, it's pretty safe to try and reset her again as long as she's not in 'Embrace darkness' mode
3. If you mess up the P2 reset whilst she's in embrace darkness mode and are forced to take the P2 stack, redemption can sometimes be a life safer and turning a corner can make the stack stop quicker
4. If you are forced to take any of the P3 special attacks (Contain this, or Ice Prison) due to messing up, protect from range to take less damage
5. When freeing your partner from Ice Prison special attack on P3, prioritise destroying one of the middle stalagmites to enable your partner to run out instantly can sometimes be helpful, instead of having to wait for the stalagmites to disappear

I was having a great run with nex, then I went 1200 FFA Trios dry (no exagguration). I got fed up, chucked and lost my bank DMing, and here I am crawling back to this ice hell today after quitting for a year. First kill back someone else gets nihil horn lol

what is this plugin for removing prayers?
To ge that insta nex reset do you need to run under her when her true tile is one tile away or two tiles away?
You need to aim for her center tile. Sometimes she doesnt instant reset and you need to tick walk under her middle tile until shes stops being madge. When we are in lane, we wait until her true tile kisses the marked tile, then click, putting us in her middle tile when she walks one more step.
do you only need one person to use range? or can you?
Is it worth bring bandos swap if everyone is standing melee distance except p2? Currently running armadyl/zcb 5 mans but I do karils/fang for 3
No, Bandos is god awful in Nex. It has horrible defenses. Masori is better to camp unless you have a full Torva switch. You don't Mp2 unless everyone has Torva, not worth the risk/damage.

Gnomonkey just FYI you're standing on the wrong spot during Umbra. If you're Umbra tank you want to stand on the east side of the room, not the north side, that way Nex never even has a chance to switch aggro to you as long as Nex tank doesn't mess up the reset. Every time Nex runs up the bridge you end up in her aggro range, there is a slim chance she switches to you as a result.
@@user-ld2cf7mw2f Nex attacks every 4 ticks and the Fang every 5 so you only need to walk under her on the tick she would’ve otherwise attacked you on her usual cycle. So to answer your question, if you do it properly, you will hit Nex on the same she hits you, walk under her before she attacks you again, then click to attack and you’ll step out to attack her and then she’ll be able to attack you. Doing this effectively cuts down on damage taken by 25%.

With this setup fang is best dps to Fumus, BP to Umbra and then ACB the other minions.

What plug-in are you using to only show the outline of the thralls?
Better npc highlight, Outline IDs 10880,10883,10886, entity hider to hide thralls.
do you measure your ticks by the scanner plug-in over the prayer icon?
Nah. You just get a feel for things eventually. A tick is always 0.6s after all unless you're lagging.
As somebody whos never done nex but has done pretty much everything else, this looks incredibly easy
It's easy once u get the hang of it just takes a while to get it down
Is duo a good option for farming for drops? Im an iron with no masori (bad rng at toa) and i wouldnt mind this
I'd recommend practicing with larger groups first (4-6 people) and get all the motions down with that group. You want to ensure you have all the motions down before attempting 2 mans, it's very easy to mess up and force either a reset or death, both of which do not produce gp/items. BUT, once the motions are down between you and one other, it's great for drops! Or not, 50/50 chance.

You bring Lb, and both Nezi helm and Masori. No it's not worth a venator for a switch, the ring switches are worse dps than LB. The only thing switch you could do at max eff is Ultor switch while speccing with VW.

You can tbow camp on Nex, you dont need ZCB once you have Voidwaker for speccing. VW is better spec damage per spec point

So this is pretty much on par with high invo toa profit wise right? Main draw of toa for me is solo friendliness.
This is better than high Invo ToA and MUCH less difficult

@@maimonguy123 Max gear Nex pushes 24m/hr+ and with no added difficulty. It gets even easier actually. Unlike toa where you have to keep adding invos. Duo partners aren't bad if you have big clan or irl friends who play

Nice, I have done 4-5 mans very smoothly, and a few "accidental" trios about halfway through, etc, but duos are FUCKING HARD, I am going in masori with barrow gloves, basically all bis ranged from there except I use ancient d'hide boots (if you've ever been frozen by the mage outside the nex door, you know the feeling), and my inventory basically has fang, infernal, avernic, w/ book of the dead for thralls and divine pouch.
I basically tried this about 5 times with a friend and its that end-dps check that is just painful and is very cucky.
Based on your video, it seems melee with range swaps may actually be the better option.
The problem is I'm using tbow, and I swear to god it noodles FANTASTICALLY off this boss, I have seen the twisted noodle perform its noodling in various stuff for brief moments, but my god, sometimes the twisted noodle is better off being used as a melee weapon w/ how bad it can sometimes hit.
Honest question, would I be best off just trying this with duo? I feel like hitting 2-3 ruby specs would out dps my tbow outright lol.
I obviously know zaryte bow is best but I cannot afford atm, expensive af, but the amount of damage with lightbearer is disgusting lol. Earlier today I had a 5 man were a guy hit like almost every shot as a ruby spec, it was a disgustingly fast 5 man, it was a little fucked up rofl.

I have max set up including torva but instead of tbow i have zcb, should I keep the set up and just save enough for tbow then sell the zcb? Or should I ditch the torva and zcb to buy tbow and melee with just masori and faceguard?
Might as well just keep the ZCB and go TBOW. Unless you have quiver, then you want Tbow for sure

How does bowfa fare against minions over BP/ACB?
It's fucking bad, just cause you need full crystal for it to compete and then it's just a blowpipe that requires several extra inventory slots.

i was around the same / a little lower, just learnt t1 cg and did that for like 600kc, made like 200m gp and got soooo much better at pvm. i recc it
I was the same 6 months ago except combat 102 and 40M bank. Now I'm maxed combat and 1B bank.
What I did was Muspah until I could do Vorkath then I did that.
Then I did some duo/trio bandos. Went to 200M bank and sold everything for Bowfa.
Went to Bandos solo and Muspah with bowfa and got 400M bank in like 2 weeks.
Grinded some more bosses/slayer and got 600M bank.
Then I went to toa and now I'm at 1B.
But I'm bored of Toa so now I'm trying to Duo Nex but it's hard af lol.

Korasi is BiS spec, even over ZCB in ToA and Nex, but claws for ToB and CoX.

Good video, but your math was a bit off at the end. You forgot that each drop is weighted, for every 1 hilt, you would see 2 of each torva piece/crossbow, and 3 vambs.

Duo’s are fun, but sometimes you get cucked. Imo trio’s are a bit more relaxing, 10 kills/h give a bit more drops/h, making it easier to camp for longer periods of time. Cause you need 7 hours in duo’s to go on rate for an item, if no1 makes a crucial mistake.

i have drag cbow, and everything but zaryte vambraces in the video, should i wait until armadyl cbow?
@@abyssalnova995 Upgrade to Masori for solid kills and less damage per kill, then work for a arma xbow, into ZCB, assuming you have melee filled out. Zaryte bracers are more quality of life than huge upgrades. But they are cheap in price right now, Id get these after arma xbow, masori, then bracers

I think it is hilarious that you flame people for using inventory tags, whilst you are using plugins that literally show you the tile where you are standing... you have almost everything highlighted when doing TOA or COX, I mean even the the vanguards are highlighted?? Why make fun of inventory tags, its so hypocritical
can I do this with these stats: 96 hp, 90atk, 91str, 84def, 99 range, 95 mage, 89 prayer
Definitely doable, but a hard amount of stats to learn on. I'd recommend doing trios first and getting down the 5 tick Nex attack tech before sending duos with those stats.
Doable but no reason to be doing this content or really any mid/end game content without being max combat. You have NMZ, bursting/chinning in MM2 for hella fast stat boosting. Faster kills mean more gp per hour. Each stat is 1-2% per so missing 8 stat levels in strength means youre missing 16% dps which is higher than going from bowfa to TBOW. Stats>Gear

5s are good for learning and slowly bring the team size down as you get more gear/experience
You just took the straight average of the drop price. You should be taking the weighted average since the drop rates for each unique are different. The hilt is cheap but also the rarest piece so I would assume the weighted average price is a bit higher than you calced

You just need like 8m gear to do zulrah efficiently with just magic
Zulrah, vorkath, or muspah. Can do all of these bosses with pretty budget gear (~10M) but it’s not going to be very efficient. Look at the strategy wikis for each of the bosses and they will list minimum recommended gear.

how did that guy emote and move at the same time? at 13:04 isnt that impossible 4 emotes and 2 clicks to move his character in like 2 seconds seems almost impossible to humanly do that unless a stall was used i didnt see or hes ahking out his ass

Masori for melee camping. Bandos is bad for defenses.
@@Hedron_Archmage melee switch is definitely worth it in duos just not if you are new. id assume given how poor their dps is in this gear it might not be worth it, but if you werent in total rags for duos it's very good
Bandos isn't worth using you waste too many brews for too little gain, torva is tanky and doesn't waste brew since you take less damage
@@s7efen805 That's just wrong. Masori offers more defenses than Bandos switching. Torva replaces brews that you would have otherwise taken. Bandos doesnt give enough bonuses to cut out brews. You still melee, you just do it in Masori to be able to bring more brews.

Genuine question because, after looking into it a bit you don't gain a max hit unless you have torva helm too so it'd be bringing just the 2 bandos pieces with the torva helm (I didn't know without torva helm you didn't gain a max hit with fang while using bandos instead of masori) you still gain a fang max hit and the voidwaker max hits. This is merely a hypothetical situation, I'm mainly asking because the things you use torva for would be having high range defence for shadow tanking and for tanking melee hits during blood and ice phase(I believe?) So is torva only worth it because the 2 max hits saves enough time to provide 2 brews of value?
I think you should have recorded more example kills and then had a written guide before making this video. It's not that much more effort and would be really helpful for people getting into the boss or trying to master it. You barely explain the mechanics since this is live. I know this is the case since the twitch chat was lost a few times. You also only show what is, in my opinion, a pretty good kill. It's like if you made a Xuk guide, but refused to highlight, showcase, or even explain in great detail any possible errors that could happen, and just show a perfect run with no close calls or deaths. You also don't talk about recovery for shadow phase which, next to Zaros, is the biggest roadblock for Nex as a boss, let alone duo. "Resetting" is never explained either. I was confused by what you meant since I've always called it flipping anyway, but regardless, it should have been explained in a bit more detail since it's useful on basically every phase, and only required on shadow. Everything else is pretty good information, but a title like "Duo Nex on a BUDGET example kill (15M GP/HR)" would have been better than directly putting guide in the title. Overall good video and helped me to realize the power of my current gear in duos. Cheers for that.
While I see your point in wanting more information. He has a advanced tactics Nex guide, which explains all these things you are missing. This is to show that Nex CAN be done in rags. Editing and voicing over takes significantly more time, its TONS more effort and you sound ignorant on the process of making/editing video content. He's a twitch streamer more than a youtuber. This is great and shows real interact with chat, and was able to answer questions on the spot, vs here, where he'd have to shift through comments. This is definitely a guide, its just not a BARE BONES IN DEPTH, name everything mechanical guide.

TBOW is better. It gives you range to reset things, and is 60% better on the minions than ZCB. ZCB is 1% better on Nex herself. You want TBOW, drop ZCB, use VW as a spec weapon.

Why does fbow and crystal armor not work for range switch?
Low damage, inaccurate against Nex, and Bolt procs do significantly more dps. You arent range camping, you are using fang as main dps

Why is bowfa SO bad?
Nex's range defense is outrageously high, and BOWFA has SHIT mage defense, worse than Karils. Bolts are used to bridge the gap. Masori is AMAZING range and mage defense.

Ruby bolts are most of your dps.
Bofa requires full crystal to be any good, and ruby specs are better than bofa for high hp mobs.
