    If the manufacturer builds an engine that can go 8000RPM that means I have the right to rev it up to 8000, don't tell me go easy on my car

      Thats a stupid argument.
      You cant expect things to last when you Redline them.
      You can also start on 3rd gear but the clutch will be worn much sooner.

      @@littlereptilian7580 why is there no over rev protection on the accelerator? Yo would think with all the electronics it would have a rev limiter so to protect the engine. I hope he gets a lawyer invoved , the dealership is wrong.

    They sit at the dealership and rev up the engine like crazy or they will wreck your car and then don’t have to pay for it

  • @tylern922
    @tylern922 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    An over rev would be revving over the limiter. Which could be done if it was a manual and he downshifted in too low of a gear. Which in my opinion is pretty difficult if you have experience. I’ve never personal done it.

    Engine cut off is useless if you go from 2nd to 1st gear at 60 MPH; money shift!

    That’s why I never leave my car with the dealership when I know the service can be completed in a few hours or a day because they will hot rod your car always check your mileage and write it down if you leave your car with any mechanic or dealership

      You also have to be careful with Valet Parking. Those attendants will hot rod your sports car while you are eating dinner or enjoying an event. One Valet Attendant wrecked an expensive sports car. Taking it out on a joy ride.

    They have engine rev limiters. I revved up my old accord 5 spd. to the limit a couple times, it just cuts off the gas.
    Then again, if you drive your car around at 6000 rpms all the time, it is negligent driving.

      Honda just doesn't care, they are cheating you. I will never buy Honda. Toyota on the other hand is 100 times bigger company and they have a no questions asked approach to warranty repairs. Nice to have someone like Toyota stand behind their product.

    I tell you when you have your car service even a oil change they take your car for a test drive and they drive the hell out of it if there are any other problems you will have to pay

  • @hermanrogers1325
    @hermanrogers1325 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Those mechanics abuse the engine that’s why they want you to leave the car with them and go home. You can still in the car in park turn the engine on and stomp the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there until it starts to stink then you can give it back to the owner and wait for some things else to go wrong and make some more money. I know from experience I don’t trust no mechanic that’s why I started working on my own cars put a new engine in it and then the mechanic will make sure the transmission will go bad

    I bought an extended warranty on a new Ford Conversion Van that stated my rearview mirrors were covered. Those were the 2 side mirrors. The driver's side mirror failed to operate. When I called for service, I was told that that was not covered because it was attached to a part that wasn't covered. Ha!!!
    What I learned was the dealer sold the warranty to a third party to rid him of the liability. Happy ending. Ford replaced both mirrors after I contacted them. Should have sued to get my money back too!

    Manufacturers should have factory installed rev limiters & shut-off provisions in case the oil pressure drops.
    They have the technology, it wouldn’t cost much & it would protect them, as well as their customers.

    • @crankshaft007
      @crankshaft007 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This clearly shows how little you understand how vehicles operate. It’s called a money shift, driver downshifts into a completely wrong gear and mechanically over revs the engine. Toyota celica was famous for this with 6 speed trans.
      Hondas will start flashing the oil light when oil pressure is not detected for a set period of time. To make a car shut off would be a serious safety issue and leave a customer no power brakes or steering. Clearly this isn’t something that can’t be done
