If only VIA would bring back K3L on their F40PH-2D... BTW i dont get why people think K5s sounds better than K3Ls... when K3Ls are definitively the best horns ever!
f**k transport canada why why you could have just have the horns just at a lower pitch than the k3l's and a pitch the same as a k5la but nope they went next level and mandated the drugged k5ca-ls horns. I just hope the K5CA-Ls can get banned.
I can't believe they're running that fast on jointed rail! This would NOT be allowed in the US! Anyways, I liked the first clip the best, but all of those P42 clips have excellent first gen K5LAs!
More than likely and all bells forward K5LA. Typically on passenger locomotives the bells will be forward since car body passenger locomotives have very poor rear visibility and there's no reason to back them up anyways
Amazing K5LA’s on those Via Genesis locomotives!
I love all of these horns, they sound so good!
And they’re not coned like on Amtrak horns
Oh my god I love your channel icon! It’s so adorable!
I think that's SunRail. Amtrak trains do have coned horns tho
@@PlaneBoy2520 Thank you!!
I still love all of these horns
Those rails look awfully bumpy!
I love these horns SO much better than the crappy current horns you find on Vias F40s and P42s today
10 years later I still enjoy this video
12 years :D
@@thealmightydoge5653 14 years
an era of peace with horns that sound nice and no K5CA-LS mandate
Nice K5LA Horn!
The ride on the engine on the second train must have been pretty shaky, with all the jointed rail making the engine bob up and down.
2:13 The horn from Rails unlimited
If only VIA would bring back K3L on their F40PH-2D... BTW i dont get why people think K5s sounds better than K3Ls... when K3Ls are definitively the best horns ever!
Because K5s has a more musical tone. K3Ls are OK to say the least, they arent better then the K5LAs though.
I blame transport Canada for that. They require the k5ca-ls horn on every passenger train. I mean, a k5la is loud enough. Ridiculous.
f**k transport canada why why you could have just have the horns just at a lower pitch than the k3l's and a pitch the same as a k5la but nope they went next level and mandated the drugged k5ca-ls horns. I just hope the K5CA-Ls can get banned.
@@trevorderper5050 well personally I love the K5CA-LS
@@GalaxyQZthey are starting to grow on me and don't mind them on Via rail and I rather hear those over quiet zones and that abomination "PHub"
911 & 913 both have great horns
2:14 Metropolis Link horn in Rails Unlimited
Also the District Highliner and other trains
Wherever this is, I'd think with via trains running this fast, there'd be welded rails
+Trains in Toronto
My thoughts exactly. Why no CWR.
@trainsintoronto this is in eastern ontario on via's Alexandria Sub Between Ottawa on And Coteau QC
I think the first one was the best sounding.
Loved the vid. Any highball trains like these are very cool. Good job. 5* rate!
NICE K5LA!!!
Yea
My childhood video right here
cool video dude
i like Via and for that person that asked, most of the locomotives are Genesis's.
wow 913 has a interesting horn
913 is a best train horn
2:13 is a banger too
I don't understand why people disliked this??
Pretty sick vid!!! Love VIA Rail
Great video!
@megs905 F40PH-2. If your referring to the paint scheme. I believe its the Quebec lottery (just guessing) train.

i think personally the K3l is my favorite
Mine is hands down the K5L
I have a suggestion: buy a foam ball to cover your microphone, protecting it from wind noise.
PGE /BC Rail had the best horns created by Robert Swanson
I can't believe they're running that fast on jointed rail! This would NOT be allowed in the US! Anyways, I liked the first clip the best, but all of those P42 clips have excellent first gen K5LAs!
Actually a portion of Amtraks Southwest Cheifs route is jointed rail and the train still goes in some cases 70 mph
913 has the best horn in this video.
@mrt ddn046 That horn is in no way fouled at all. You don't know what you're talking about.
Why do they use amtrak horns?
Because it just came included with the locomotive, I think. I’m surprised VIA didn’t put Canadian horns on those p42dc’s.
Sweet!
This is NOT a 'mashup', as a mashup is BLENDING of sounds. This is, to whit, a COLLECTION of sounds, one after another. Common mistake.
Where is the crossing?
now that there are a bunch of old videos getting renamed to stuff like skibidi and stuff like that, let's hope this video doesn't get the treatment
Oh VIA why did you ditch these horns
because transport canada is a total idiot of mandating drugged horns.
00:55 where is that, and is that diamond still around?
Is the k5LA = p42 and k3L = f40??
Yup
Via is the best

Un vrai concert, avec la participation de la poule aux oeufs d'or. lol
I wonder which of these horns the Ottawa Senators used for their goal horn...I think 1:50🤔🤔

2nd last sounded like a slightly fouled k3la
I like Amtrak
kinda weird via rail is going fast on jointed tracks
0:56 lol @ the bird
This look like amtrak P42DC!
It's the exact same as the Amtrak P42DC, except with its specific Canadian details
K5la yes
Amtrak k5la horn
Rxr
The fact is a jointed rail means this rail line is garbage.
@furryfurball1221 Socialism allows for that entitlement.
