First video of yours that I’ve seen. Truly epic. The first few minutes were poetry. I never comment, ever. However you nailed it. The frustration of this hobby was palpable. I’m having a not so great day tbh. Lots of stress from work, trying to keep up and fit in as much in my schedule as possible. Sad because work prevents me from making videos like this. I personally will always keep multiple seiko's for multiple reasons. They are as good as any watchmaker in the world, along with covering every price point.

I got the 39mm Panda as a birthday gift from my brother. Its a great watch that wears really nice on my wrist. The only problem i have it the date window, but aside from that, love it.
That’s such a nice gift dang. I’d be floored if my sibling ever got me something as nice as that. I love these watches, but yea it’s those subtle little things that start to add up.

I treated myself yesterday to the pepsi. I've been looking at this model for a couple of months and bugging the grand seiko store in London. I'm a big fan of seiko, not a collector, but I do have a couple. Gen 1 black monster and the flightmaster , and a couple more models. The pepsi has been difficult to find in store. Many places didn't have it . I like it. I'm a happy bunny 🐰. Yes, the date window is tiny . I enjoyed your video. Thanks

Wow, only the second video I've seen from you, but I must say I love your style. Slow, thoughtful tempo, excellent editing and intelligent narration. And stylish glasses too.
The 39 mm Speedtimer is one of my top two dream watches to get. I've been drooling over it for almost a year now; looking at pictures of it every day, arguing with myself if I can justify the cost at this time. $700 isn't a fortune, but it's also not exactly cheap for a quartz watch, so I haven't jumped on it yet. And as Seiko's QC issues are well known, I want to buy it in a store, not on some online auction.
One of the things I like about the Speedtimer is that it's solar, so no battery changes required. For me that makes it feel more timeless and eternal, like my manual and automatic watches.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me because I do put a lot of thought into my work.
My wish is that you get blessed tremendously this year and buy that watch. I know the feeling. Buying a watch out of that glass case at the AD.... nothing like it. $700 is a lot of money to me as well, but I do know once you cross into that threshold it'll be worth every penny. Both variations wre nice, but the 39mm seems more of a sleek fitting watch. Im torn between thisnor the 35mm PRX quartz
Oh man…. Prx vs. Speedtimer. I’ve owned both. But my glacier blue PRX was gifted away to my nephew… the Speedtimer remains in my collection.
Refreshingly different type of watch review, i like it. I get stressed out by some other watch reviews, this is almost calming.

Currently debating between the Speedtimer SSC813 & this SSC911. Still not sure which one to get. I worry this one might be a bit big. How do you feel about the watch now? Btw love the video editing and style.
I still love my SSC911 so much. It’s def big and fits bigger than the 813. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the 813 fits better, but in terms of looks I prefer the 911 aesthetic. I decided to sacrifice wrist presence for design.
You can’t go wrong with either, but if you want that pop of red and a cleaner hand set go for the 911. And thank you for the compliment! Means a lot.
The first 30 seconds... so me! 😂 My only gripe about this watch is the dial. Why didn't they just make it white? Bought it anyway and I love it.

Seiko has outdone themselves with this .. After less than a week of ownership I can comfortably say you would be hard pressed to find a finer Chrono at this price point. Is it as good as my Speedmaster Pro??.. It’s different.. Im also getting used to the quartz , and it’s a bit of a departure from my Speedy daily or Bi-Daily winding ritual.. After 20 plus years of exclusively wearing Omega and Rolex Seiko has swooned me on many levels. Affordability being at the forefront.. This was a no brainer as an addition to my constantly growing Seiko Fleet

Love it. Not sure if 39 or 41 would be better fit for me, but the movement on the second hand and solar makes quartz completely acceptable.

Great video. I always loved Seiko for their Chronographs and their heritage also backs up their quality watches. I would love to speak to their marketing department why they do not bring up their heritage more often. Seems all their marketing goes to divers and Seiko 5 leaving Speedtimers and Pilot watches like they had no horological history and a bastard child that just exist.
Yea I feel like GS gets all the fun storytelling aspects of the brand. There are some LE’s that get some cool PR but for the most part it just feels like a constant sales pitch sometimes. The last time I was intrigued by a non GS Seiko was the urushi presage line. Those are fantastic.

Congrats on your second video and channel start! Very well scripted and gently edited with a chill tempo I can get into. I bought the 39mm early last year and loved the overall style and attention to detail. However I ended up returning it as it wore just a bit too small on my 7.25" wrist for my taste. Now that Seiko has introduced this 41mm model I've been looking to pick one up again but concerned that even though the case size has increased the dial face looks almost the same size. And I have not found anything online that definitely says otherwise. Any info on my concern would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
BTW, totally agree with not spending anything over $400-500 on any watch that isn't auto/mechanical or at the very least Quartz/solar.
Thank you for showing love! 7.25 wrist... I'm tempted to suggest the Bulova Lunar Pilot if you want that wrist presence... I love that watch but I know my 6.5 inch wrist won't cut it. I'd say if you go with the Speedtimer 41, it might still feel small. I think the dial and case is the same size, the only thing that's bigger and stretches the diameter to 41mm is the tach bezel... might be the same feeling...

You deserve more subs. I agreed with everything you said. Superb editing and atmosphere. Im a woman who is into watches and collecting them. Ive been on a vintage seiko and citizen kick lately(especially the early quartz models). my husband and i have found some amazing vintage chronographs that fit my smaller wrist better. The 7ax8 series of speedmaster quartz chronos are amaze, and i just got a 2 tone bond version nos for a super goood deal. I keep telling myself "ok, the collection is good...u don't need anymore"
The only problem is, watch collecting is more like an addiction than a hobby 😂

That’s what I call an outstanding review. Liked and subscribed. I just received my 39mm blue/red dumped the bracelet, never wear them. Still on the fence on how much I like it, never been a big fan of chronographs. Luckily it only cost me $442. I do like solar and have enough Swiss automatics.

Get the 41 if your wrist is above 6.5 inches. I feel like the 39 is harder to read sometimes, especially at quick glances. But both are nice.

I have a nitpick that flies under the radar for most everyone else but drives me crazy: I ABSOLUTELY HATE that the sub-dials are not equal sized. I understand that it wouldn’t bother most people but my OCD is just raging inside. I think that’s why the Speedy, the Daytona, heck even the Zenith Chronomaster have such classic designs, they all have equally sized subdials. Seiko PLEASE

Thanks for watching. I sold off my SRPD to fund other Seiko watches. I wanted to graduate to the Presage and Prospex offerings. Nothing is wrong with Seiko 5s, and I’m looking at some summer dials from that collection right now, but just wanted more Seiko’s with higher spec since they are my favorite watch brand.

I'm considering buying this watch, but I keep seeing SSC911 and SSC911P1. Is there a difference?
I think the P1 is the v2 case Seiko came out with, with an updated dial. Don't know much right now (will need to do more research) but one thing I do remember reading is they updated the date window to be more legible.

I’m stuck between buying this watch and feeling like I’m selling myself short and should wait and save up and buy the Tissot pr516 because I told myself when I started collecting absolutely no quartz but I agree with you on solar quartz is an interesting middle ground

Thank you! The new Tissot is a stunner forsure. Go with your gut. Don’t settle. I bought the Speedtimer because I liked it and wanted a chronograph. But when I’m all saved for the Carrera Glassbox, this Speedtimer is probably getting sold or gifted to family/friend. I bought the Seiko at around $400 on eBay and it’s looking like it’s retaining value. Keep me posted! IG is best for messages for me.
