Here is my Box to range review of the SDS imports/Tisas mfg Duty, fullsize 9mm 1911, Had to fix this video so i reuploaded it. This gun is one of the best values in a 1911 on the market being available for under 400 at the time of making this video.
The winner of the shirt was “CelticSamoan” so i will be in touch.
Check out our instagram as well.

Nice piece and good shooting! Been seeing a lot of these lately. Mine runs flawlessly with 230 fmj but its been iffy with 185 HPs. Only complaint I had is that the thumb safety engagement was very weak and I noticed the safety coming off a few times while carrying in a holster. I replaced the plunger tube spring with a Wolff brand spring and now the safety stays on and off much more positively.

Hey thanks for the comment and watching! I have also noticed the thumb safety spring is slightly weak, but not enough on mine to cause concern, good to know wolfe makes springs to replace it though.

As another commenter stated, I think it's likely your thumb is riding the slide lock resulting in the slide not locking back. I've got smaller/medium hands and have never had this issue, it's always my bigger handed friends that experience this.
    Nice review!

After watching a number of these reviews what I noticed was the thumb on their support hand was contacting the slide stop. Once they repositioned their thumb the issue did not return.

Remember, Turkish guns are typically tuned to their native ammo which is NATO ammo which is usually hotter. What that means is typically heavier springs. On top of that you have all that mass that a tiny 9mm is trying to push lol

I was thinking of grabbing one of these while they were on sale today but after this video and reading the comments I think I'm gonna hold off and just save my money up and get something different looks good prices good but after you add in the fact that you have to buy other magazines and everything else you're better off just buying another gun magazines themselves are 40 to $50 a piece I don't know about Wilson but I hear everybody saying switch to them I know their guns are very nice and extremely pricey so I'm sure the mags are as well glad I watched this hope your gun starts functioning correctly overtime or this videos of bet older hopefully it started functioning correctly and you didn't have to spend more money fixing problems that shouldn't come straight out of the box that's why I hesitate about these off-brand budget companies this was a life-or-death situation shootout and didn't have the option to go outside in your yard and train when you first get it and have to go to the range but it's your first carry gun and you get into an incident before you get to the range and you're carrying it this could be very catastrophic people don't look at it that way but lot of people out there only get one done just for the point of carrying and sometimes can't go to the range right away but carry it till they can make it there or get a day off work and this year could prove to be catastrophic. Failure could have you easily killed or very badly injured if Anna firefighter shootout with someone that's how I look at things that you run smoothly out-of-the-box maybe do a better check at the factory I don't know but I guess when the price of really can't complain there's guns like this out there for a double the price but they also had that name stand behind them to back it up I've never even heard of this company just seen it on the Palmetto website thought it look good but now I'm going to hold off thanks for the video

Hey Joey, i wouldnt hesitate picking one up for the price as they are quality guns, however as with any handgun you may be considering for a self defense use, you are gonna want to vet that it functions fine, atleast trying to get it shot once or twice, yes i am very lucky i can go out and shoot at my own range. However i would say that any gun no matter the price you gotta atleast shoot a magazine or two out of it before you carry it, i understand some people may be buying their first gun, but if you are gonna carry a gun you must make time to get it to the range before trusting your life to it. I have seen a two guns come from the factory with the issue that they would not fire. And one the guy had been carrying it and finally got it to the range and it was broken.
I would still purchase one of the tisas 1911’s as i feel the quality of the gun is good for its price.
I tell you what, i will make another short video trying the factory mags from the Tisas again, and being mindful of my finger position, and unlike the short where i used one hand, i will use a standard grip, and see if it was me or the gun.

@@WVGunsNGoats Try new mags, such as Wilsons or Checkmate duty style mags with a steel(govt) follower. Maybe load an empty mag and pay attention while hand cycling the gun to watch the follower. A kit from Tripp might solve your problem. Lots of plastic followers come with a metal insert to engage the slide stop. Never had it happen to me yet, but possibly the mag is seating too low. Make sure your Thumbs don’t hit the slide lock and accidentally release it. I would keep your 9mm here & add a Tisas 45ACP when you can. I am having the same issues with mine except mine keeps stove piping as well with the exact same model and caliber tried using standard mags and Wilson mags after shooting 300 to 400 rounds thinking it might be a break in period finally sent it in for a warranty and the replaced a “firing pin” telling them over the phone that I’m pretty sure that’s not it and you should shoot more then just 10 rounds through it they sent it out to me anyway with a repair TH-cam video of my gun being tested once I got it in the mail I took it to the range already knowing that they didn’t truly fix it fired around 150 to 200 round having 7 or 8 failures to feed and stove pipes after telling them the situation they said have someone send a video of you shooting it and capture the issue it seems kinda ridiculous that I have to keep spending money on ammo to find out what’s going on with it when they should have figured it out before shipping it out the quality control is not good and the warranty service is even worse at this point and time I would not recommend this firearm or any product from them I will update my comment if they make things right but I highly doubt it as I’ve had the firearm for 3 months now and bought with the intentions for personal protection/ ccw ended up buying different firearm for that

Ive seen very few of the tisas pistols that arent well made. It absolutely sux that no American companies can build anything that doesnt cost 800+ With lesser parts. That may or may not even be assembled correctly. Im against buying foreign. But when i can get a aluminum framed bobtailed pistol with barstock parts forged frame and slide. Cold hammer forged barrel. Im willing to support that company. I just bought a COLT competition pistol that is pretty nice but its 950 list. Dan Wessons are way out of sight now. Back when Bob Serva owned dan wesson they were a American made example of excellence. Granted back then he used cast frames. But they were fit and finished as nice as an ED BROWN and you could get one for 800 dollars. MAYBE THE TURKS JUST HAVENT LET THEIR GOVT RUIN THEIR COUNTRY?????????? Like we have.

I will say that the turkish economy is going through hyper inflation right now, and 1 USD id like 30 of their dollars, maybe more. So that explains why the cost of these is so low, labor is cheap to buy in turkey, and that translates to a inexpensive gun that should cost more.

The mag's are not mecar, thank goodness. They are atc. Never drop a slide on an empty chamber on a 1911. Period! And that is not how you lube a 1911.Do a little research. Wilson Combat has very good info here on the Tube. Not good giving bad advice here as there are a lot of newbies like your sefl who don't need bad instructions!

I watched that video wilson put out, they said that yes dropping the slide on a 1911 can be damaging…IF you have a finally tuned match trigger, with a very light sear engagement, however its generally not an issue on guns with a 4/5lb duty trigger. (also it seems silly to me that people claim the 1911 is this battle proven firearm yet its so fragile that dropping the slide will damage it, just saying)
The No MIM came directly from Tisas usa in a post in their forum on ar15.com.
As far as lubrication like any other machine as long as you get lube on the major friction surfaces where metal rubs together, you will be fine with some small exceptions of places not to lube like a striker channel on a glock.

    • @michaell397
      @michaell397 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@WVGunsNGoats True, however on a 1911, lube must be put on the front of the rails, not just the back. Also on the barrel, particularly where the bushing rest on the barrel in battery, the locking lugs on the forward end of the hood, on the link feet, and on the area where the recoil spring rod fits into its seat. And dropping a slide on an empty chamber will eventually loosen the locking lugs and give you the nice old fashion military grade rattle trap 1911 with poor accuracy. your choice!
