One of the finest musical ensembles to ever grace the medium of recording. I wish that they had inspired more to imitate them. A true treasure of the 20th century.

@@huguette1705 I saw the MJQ at the Royal Festival Hall in, I think, 1961, and joining them on stage as guest artists were Ronnie Ross on baritone sax and Joe Harriott on alto. Ross played "Body & Soul" and Harriott played "Autumn in New York. An unforgettable evening. I was at RAF Uxbridge as a young airman that year.

At : 4:02 Milt Jackson drops his left-hand stick - hardly skips a beat. I wish I'd seen them live.
I grew up listening to this music courtesy of my parents who had the sheer good taste to let my punk albums co-exist alongside their MJQ and Miles collection.

My dream came true in 1982 when I had the privilege of seeing my Dream Quartet in concert here in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺. They came via Melbourne, Australia returning from Japan in a Reunion tour. I thought that I would never see them after they disbanded. Allah uAkbar! God is great and fulfilled my dream and I was blessed to see them. ❤ Perfection is shown here. Their instruments were checked before they started to perform. Instrument Tuner checked every one on stage whether they were tuned absolutely perfect. The temperature and humidity in our concert hall would have an effect on the string instruments like the Piano and Bass. The MJQ was the epitome of PERFECTION! (Bryan Abrahams, Jazz Historian 1958, Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺).
