I chose to be nice to her. When I went back and saw how sad she was I immediately loaded my last save before I made that decision and decided to be a little more brutally honest. She ended up making actual friends. Now I choose that every time.

Actually this is quite a lot of controversial. If we treat games like AC Odyssey as trash becoz it doesn't have good AC contents but is a good RPG and shows the elements of it's world through side quest but at the same time if we let Odyssey and Valhalla off the hook stating if you remove AC from it, it's actually a quite decent game, then we will be letting Unisoft of the hook for making AC into making new AC into a Samurai or Cyperpunk simulator becoz that's what they are gonna do.

I always liked that you could come back later after making choices to see the repercussions in Odyssey. There's a quest similar to this one in Valhalla. You find a little girl, Mae, waiting by a tree because her dad went to Lincoln and said he'd be back before the final leaf from the tree falls. You can comfort her or shoot the leaf down and tell her that he's not coming back. You can actually find him dead under a bridge in Lincoln with his dying note for Mae but you can't tell her any of this if you go back, nothing happens. Even if you find him before meeting her nothing changes. Going back to Odyssey, I feel like it did so much better with little world building events compared to Valhalla where nothing can be done afterwards.

There’s also a very similar world event where there’s an old man with a delusion of an imaginary crew that he goes on imaginary raids with in his back yard. I don’t even remember if you have the option to be honest with him or not, but I know that you can and that it’s definitely a lot easier to do so when it isn’t a child lol.
I agree the, the world events are kind of pointless in Valhalla for the most part. I still like Valhalla but there’s just little things about it that are a little frustrating…

based on 2 response u can give to her :
    1. tell her that it isn't real and she needs to go make some friends.
ending : when u return some time later, she is accompanied by 2 other kids, and they praised her clays, they play together, she thank you and probably gonna become an architect or some kind with happy life, u filled her emptiness time with your harsh words, and it turned for the better.
    2. appraise her clay and follow along her delusional.

Odyssey is part of the reason I havent played Valhalla. I surely dident want to invest a gigundous amount of time with no real character development, an ok story, and a huge empty & copy paste world. I wasent intrigue for Valhalla in having to liberated a plethora of territories with characters that you would probably wont care. I hated how Odyssey executed its story progression by stalling and forcing you to do boring side quests that contribute none to the main outcome. When I played Odyssey, I enjoyed (liked its gameplay) but after having played games like Horizon (both), AC 2, Witcher 3, RDR2, Mass Effect (triology), Ghost of Tsushima and Skyrim, I realized what actually are great games. Man, even in Greedfall your choices (both actions and dialogues) plus side quests influence more the main story than Odyssey

Because there are its reasons, this game tried to copy from Witcher 3 and failed. Just play that game and experience what an excellent rpg game is. Want a sand box, play Skyrim, want something more linear, play Horizon or Mass Effect Legendary Edition. AC Odyssey is an ok game which contradicts the modern day lore previously seen with world much larger than needed and thus feels empty with an ok story that can easily be shortened. The games feels long because the game forces you to do boring side quests (like 3 at least) to catch up with the main story and other areas to explore. The other game that I remember that forces you to stop abruptly on the main quests (you got no choice) is Mass Effect Andromeda which is a much more shitty game

My biggest gripe with the dlc was the shoehorning of the main character into a heterosexual relationship regardless of your previous romantic choices.
I favor playing as Kassandra, and I play her as a lesbian when it comes to her romance choices (with Alkibiades being a rare exception since he's about 80% gay anyway 😂).
Yet even when I choose every dialogue option indicating I have no interest in having a settled home and family, and that I'm not interested in Natakas romantically, SOMEHOW I end up having a kid with this fucking guy!!
The forced, inalterable nature of this decision gives the whole story a very icky feeling.

Hear me out: I think Assassins Creed games need to go for quality instead of quantity. More elaborate, well written missions that use the companies budget and capacities. Less gigantic maps that while cool, often are not filled with meaningful things.
You can have a big map but you don’t need one.
I think AC as a franchise is one of the few regular instalments that doesn’t need to reinvent itself, it just needs to reduce its scale, put more effort into less content.
Like, it’s stealth mechanics. They are getting somewhere with their new combat system but now, they need to get the stealth back, we all know they know how to do that.
Scenes like this are plentiful, interesting missions are plentiful but they just put in too much filler and focus on the wrong stuff.
I want to love that franchise, I really do, as things stand, I can only like it.

    • @gibleyman
      @gibleyman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This is why Unity had one of the best maps in the franchise.
It's size is actually rather small compared to most other AC games, which is extremely surprising.
But the thing was that every corner, every interior, every landmark, every building were extremely detailed, the architecture can get a bit stale after you get used to it, but there's no denying the amount of detail thrown in that map made it feel 3x more huge then it actually was.

Being someone who is very interested in the history of Ancient Greece I thought this game was amazing to play, a lot of cool history and stories, I enjoyed being able to mix and match armor/weapons and upgrade your favorite items. This definitely shouldn’t have been an assassins creed game though, had nothing to do with the Assassins or Templars just a cult against a family and their history, should’ve just been a Ubisoft Ancient Greece RPG name Odyssey, however I’m not sure if I would’ve heard of if/played it without the AC title lol one thing I don’t like about Odyssey headshots with the bow aren’t automatically deadly, at least Origins and Valhalla got that right
