I was thinking of getting the Harbor Freight 12 X 33 lathe for $300 during a sale but theres a Rikon thats only a few $$$ more. I don’t think it would smart to get a mini lathe and be limited to small projects.

Mr. Yamabiko, I would like to make 2 remarks on your woodturning works. And they are: 1) I noticed you used gloves during woodturning works. If I were you, I wouldn't use any gloves during any wood turning operations coz if that machine is catching your gloves during those wood turning operations, then the turning machine will snatch your arm from its shoulder. 2) The drill bit you used to make the initial hole in that piece of wood was not sharpened for wood works, but for iron works, that's why the initial hole was not 100% centered.
Thank you for your comment!🙏 What you say is correct! 1) In recent videos, I don't wear gloves for safety! 2) The center was misaligned because it was necessary to first recess the insertion hole as a guide for the bit. However, the run-out in this case does not matter so much because it is removed.
You do lovely work. I have one design suggestion though. The hollow forms seem to end a bit abruptly, and by that I mean the bottom “goes flat” rather quickly. You might try planning your shape to allow continuing the curve to bottom a little longer. If the eye can project the bottom of the curve ending above the table, the pieces will look a bit lighter and, to some, a bit more elegant. Just something you might want to try.
Thanks for your comment! Is the correct answer! This log has been cut for about half a year. This tree became a unique work that was transformed by drying! Thanks for watching!
