@maxonite haha that's actually very true, they potentially stripped it back to make the performance better, which is even more insane when you look at what we actually got
Yeah that's true but it also looks like they just don't care that much to try to improve it, PLA looked so much better despite the same tech limitations
I hate when people say it's the switch's fault especially because you mentioned Zelda in the same sentence. The switch is an underpowered garbage tablet, yeah but it can produce much nicer looking games than this shit. Gamefreak is just severely understaffed and under immense time pressure. They have zero time to polish their games. That's the sole reason, the switch is not holding them back in any major way.
@spaceowl9246 yeah the art direction was definitely the reason it looked better than SV, but you're 100% right that gamefreak need to expand and hire to be able to start to make games worthy of being the largest media franchise in the world...
I haven't played Pokemon since ORAS. Boy, howdy, this doesn't look good. It literally looks like a unity asset flip game made by 10 people. I was just playing Palworld, and it looks similar to SV despite the company that made that game only having 50 people. And it's not bad because of technical limitations because Zelda and Mario both look fantastic on the Switch
@@tcgtrainersAU I don't even like Mario, and I've never been the biggest Zelda guy. I fucking love Pokemon and I already own a switch but I couldn't bare to buy the new games
@birdyisblue yeah it's frustrating as to see, I basically played from the original to black and white, then a big gap, came back for sun and moon and even by that point you can see them slowly start moving towards what it is today, a rushed lazy mess for the most part. Really hoping that PL:Z-A is good and has some effort put into it because they surely can't keep going the way they are
Let us know what you think about Pokemons art style, does it need a revamp???
No shit. It needs cel shading and the art to follow the early anime. And it should maintain that visual identity.
@renatoramos8834 definitely agree! It makes no sense they are trying to get away from the anime style, it just makes it look boring
Its hard to tell what their art direction even was with how horribly executed the graphics are
@maxonite haha that's actually very true, they potentially stripped it back to make the performance better, which is even more insane when you look at what we actually got
I agree but it feels like it's the technical limitations of the switch that's holding them back, despite zelda looking amazing so???

@@tcgtrainersAU PLA also looked bad. It just had better art direction but it had similar issues.
@spaceowl9246 yeah the art direction was definitely the reason it looked better than SV, but you're 100% right that gamefreak need to expand and hire to be able to start to make games worthy of being the largest media franchise in the world...
They need to make it look more cartoonie
Gen 5 was peak
I like the design of the new game, but I feel like they could do much better
@@godzillagod519 they can definitely push it further, like let's go looked crazy good, even though it was a basic kind of art style

@birdyisblue yeah it's shocking isn't it, it blows my mind that they let their biggest franchise look like shit compared to Mario and Zelda

Is it just me or does the game still feel so slow and buggy?
@@BrendanLucas-q7z yeah never improved man
they need to do better next game, its so bad at this current state
