David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Thursday, 10 October, 2024) You give us an eminently helpful build presentation of a mainstay of contemporary military activity. Thanks. Coincidentally, Max_Afterburner a few years past had made a surprisingly similar TH-cam video of the two-seater with the same squadron markings: “Building the Hasegawa 1/48th Scale F/A-18F Super Hornet Fighter Jet plus Flight Deck Display (Max_Afterburner, Sunday, 27 May, 2018). I thought that might give you a smile. I told him about yours.
Thank you so much. I have seen his builds, he is an amazing hobbyist, very educational. I try and demonstrate as much as I can from what I have learnt after picking up the hobby again. I've found the majority of the community very helpful and encouraging, so I try to give back. All the best to you. Ian
How do the F-14D Tomcat (I watched Mr. Lin's build video of Tamiya's 1:48th-scale kit of it) and the F/A-18E compare? I expect that they are quite different aircraft.
David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Friday, 11 October, 2024) Thank you for your service to our country, sir. On this Veteran's Day especially. How do the F-14D Tomcat (I watched Mr. Lin's build video of Tamiya's 1:48th-scale kit of it) and the F/A-18E compare? I expect that they are quite different aircraft. I refer above to the following video: “1/48 F-14D TOMCAT full video build Tamiya” (MR. LIN'S SCALE MODELING, Thursday, 22 August, 2024)
Thank you so much 🙂. I always worry about over thinning and the previous coat bleeding. I made an Apache before and i think i added too much thinner, the preshading bled through and it looked horrible. I struggle with the ratio.

Great livery choice. I was in VFA-115 when we transitioned to the Superhornet. First fleet squadron to do so!
Thank you. I really do like the livery of this squadron, not too over done.
I was in VFA-27 when they got over to Japan to replace the Dragons.

You can tell by the sound and the spray pattern that your spray gun is struggling. Thin the colors a little more. Nice Super Hornet!

@@I.C.ModelsPaint to Thinner ratio is about 1:1. Check the consistency first before filling your airbrush. We want it as thick as milk.🥛
