I so wish Shaw was my older brother growing up. He's so genuine and just so laid back in a badass way..❤✌😎
Thank you all . Bunch of some good guys and true story is always a relief of my own estimate of who you think they are and what the reality is
I like how Tommy goes out of his way to compliment Larry on "The Greater Good," doing it on the very first take. That's nice of him.
Great man! He seems very sincere . I'm thinking he's all that.
So glad to learn the great Lawrence Gowan is part of Styx!
He's awesome! I'm honestly not well aware of the whole history of the band, but just saw Styx with Nancy Wilson in Vegas. They were ALL incredible, but Gowan was especially entertaining.
Wait... im playing Trombone in school, and taking Keyboard/Piano and Guitar lessons.. SWEET!
Such nice guys. No theatrics. Just genuine.
Took me a while to get to this interview. But great to listen in now! Love the authentic chat. Good stuff guys. Subscribed now. Cheers
Saw Styx twice. Started listening in 1976. I got my $5 birthday money in 1976 and told everyone that it read "Equinox. "
For a real treat, catch the re-run of Tommy Shaw with Daryl Hall in, Live from Dary's House, on AXS.
A great interview of STYX,my good friend went to school with these guys, small world,my hero's growing up!!!.......................😶2018
Nicest guys in Rock.
This is a great interview. They are so down to earth here...☺🎶🎹
Love "The Mission" it has become my new favorite Styx Lp. Only behind
"Pieces Of Eight"...
Rock & Roll
Hall of Fame is s**t anyway. Styx, you guys are so much better then many of the bands already in there.
Dspeir ~ That depends on what album you are talking about. Of their A&M Lp's, I thought
"Edge Of The Century" was their weakest. "Kilroy..." coming in at a very close second for worst again, just talking on the A&M label.
Styx is a great band and have always been one of my fave's ever since the "Chrystal ball , Grand illusion days ." even Equinox is a good album !!! Pieces of eight" rocks as well but you can't discount their other work just because you don't like Dennis . He wrote some of their best songs !!! :)
I know, But they stay true to their original version in concert . With out all the ad lib nonsense . And they know what their good songs are . Styx, 38 Special, Yes, Judas Priest, Rush are only a few band that sound as good on stage as they do in the studio . And just for the record i like the "Paradise theater" album .
Dspeir ~ "Paradise Theatre" was good. It's on my top ten Styx Lp's. I don't rate it as high as
"The Mission",
"Pieces Of Eight", or
"Grand Illusion". My three top favorite Styx Lp's by the way.
Paradise Theatre started towards the show "tuney" sound DDY liked so much. For me, "Snowblind" & "Half Penny Two Penny" were the best tracks on the album.
Styx makes a big effort to try and stay true to the original recording in their shows. That's what I like about Styx's concerts.
Cool !!! Have a great day :)
Uncle Joe real class act real fun and easy to talk to .

My first car was a 1972 blue Hot Wheel. I was 10 years old.
You had to wait till TEN to get some Hot Wheels?! o_O
I teethed on my first Hot Wheel. ... : P
Jack Blades first instrument was a ukelalie.
Oh yeah ....”Yes” ...”Cream”!
My husband sang “unchained Melodie” in the day....1970’s.
Tommy Shaw liking Yes and Genesis. Really surprising
Trick of the Tale no less. That was a huge one for me in the younger years. What a full circle connection now, as a Tommy Fan
I like YES and Genesis, great bands, Styx, not so much. Styx not so talented.
Truely is man cool!
3 on the tree..I can relate! 😄
Cool show man
LAWERENCE I'M GOING TO CUT THAT DAM SLITHER OF HAIR YOU MADE HANG DOWN YOUR FOREHEAD WTF !!!!!!!!!!
HI, Tommy Shaw.. ✌️♥️😄
Tommy could go back to high school and still be a hit with the girls. o_O
Vinyl rules
HEY WTF WHERES TODD SCHUERMAN THIER AMAZING DRUMMER ??????????
Who busted JY's face? He looks Vulcan.
Face lift and scary veneers on his teeth. He was always an odd looking fellow but the age and the surgery just made it all worse.
I'm just shocked that he's 7'3" or more!
DENNIS ROCKS
3:02 - says "a real instrument" and points to his weiner. O_o
lol!
Did J.Y. have plastic surgery?
How can they call themselves STYX, with only one original member? Also the man that started the band, the voice and the main writer (Dennis DeYoung) is not with them anymore. This is "FO-STYX"
Yeah "Styx" -sure it is.
I need to call BS. In the earlier Styx albums (Grand Illusion) Dennis DeYoung overdubbed his own voice for the back ground vocals. Don't give me it was "five guys singing". It wasn't. It was Dennis mostly.
Ilovewyatt01 , were you there?
The only song that Dennis has admitted to overdubbing his vocals is Babe, which was all Dennis.
That makes sense.
JY and Tommy are Styx. That other dude is a poser! Come back Dennis DeYoung!!!!!
Ive seen a few interviews with these three fine musicians , but I gotta say out f the interviews Ive seen , JY looks bored or annoyed ...especially when the name Dennis DeYoung comes up...
tommy owes his existence to ted. he was under water when they formed the damned yankees. that was a gift , cause ted doesnt need to diversify. tommy paid it back many many times since then passing his trade down to the youth.
Don’t be ridiculous. Ted Nugent couldn’t tune Tommy’s guitar.
Styx were good. But Kansas was great.
D Moore Carry On!
Styx is amazing
I'd agree with that.
But I wouldn't knock anybody who doesn't. - It's a close call.
Really? Who the fuck cares? Go watch a Kansas interview
